French Linen paint is grey

French Linen paint is grey. It's Grey. I was looking forward to some mushroom/browner neutrals in my house. I asked on a social page as to how take the edge off the grey and was advised to white wax after the natural wax. It's even more grey now. Very disappointed in the colour. Not what it seems. Sorry.

Warning: can be very messy!!!!

It’s not the paint I have an issue with it’s the integrity of the metal that the tins are made of. If you store the unused paint it eats through the tin !!!!! I have had 3 tins that I have gone back to use and they have all leaked badly through the base and, as you can imagine made a helluva mess. I have kept them all on a dedicated shelf in my walk-in pantry in the house. I was told to decant the paint after opening into a plastic or glass container. Since the paint is only available in a litre ptin the chances of most homes having supplies of suitable containers is doubtful. I have received a replacement tin for one of the pots I lost but it’s not the point. What on earth are they made of, I have never had any other make of paint do this and most were kept for years in the garage. I just want to warn others of the weakness.

worst paint ever …

never have i regretted using a paint more. It doesnt go on well. The wax leaves a horrible patchy finish however much you buff it. And as i buff the paint comes off underneath. The wax gets stuck in grooves and is hard to remove. I dread to think how i clean this cupboard which is in my kitchen. I bought this as i was lazy and liked the idea of no prep work. Serves me right !! Also wonder if i can paint over the wax now its on.

Annie Sloan no more

Purchased Annie Sloan satin paint for my kitchen cabinets. Beautiful colour and applies well. After 5 layers of paint and allowing the paint to cute, it looked fantastic! We don’t have children or that, so the damage is minimal in my home. My friend came over and brushed her chair again my unit and chipper the paint off, exposing the natural wood. I’m just not impressed, and I’ve upcycled with her chalk paint for years, but I feel I’m done using her products. There’s has to be a better product somewhere!

The most mediocre paint ever used

The most mediocre paint ever used. The paint is flaking and peeling making a mess of the painted furniture pieces. Also difficult to store. Doesn't justify its price at all. Waste of time and money. Use it only if you want to ruin your furniture!

Terrible lacquer

Having painted a wardrobe and chest of drawers, I applied a coat of A. S. gloss lacquer which dried patchy, yellow and just looked dirty. Like many other customers, my call was not answered and the e-mail didn’t even get through. I am now left with two ruined pieces of furniture, as all the information provided about the lacquer seems to assume that nothing can ever go wrong.

KNIGHTSBRIDGE SATIN PAINT

We have been using your satin paint in Knightsbridge Green and find that, once the paint has been opened it develops a different shade. The initial pieces that are painted with a new tin are a couple of shades darker than the pieces painted hours later when the tin has been opened (although left with the lid on in between coats). This means that, if anything needs touching up the whole piece has to be repainted and is creating a lot more work. Also, as you can see in the picture of the chairs, there is a difference between two chairs in a set of chairs. This has happened on 3 separate tins, on 3 separate occasions and with different types of furniture.

TOTALLY USELESS REPLY FROM AS TELLING US TO STIR THE PAINT PROPERLY!! 3 SEPARATE PEOPLE HAD STIRRED 3 DIFFERENT POTS OF PAINT WITH EXACTLY THE SAME RESULT ONCE THE PAINT HAD BEEN EXPOSED TO THE AIR.

Did shipping temperature affect paint?

This can of paint was very thick, clumpy, and left heavy brush marks. I used a soft brush. I ended up sanding the whole table down and starting again with different paint. I've successfully painted with chalk paint many times before without any issue. I wonder if it was because the weather at the time of shipping was below freezing?
