Don’t do it

Don’t do it. Just DON’t. It’s been 5 months.
I contacted the BBB, no help yet, so I contacted the state attorney general.

I also tracked down the CEO on linkedin amd sent him the following message:
Hi Ryan,
I am reaching out because I have been unable to get a meaningful resolution through all of Balfour’s customer service channels regarding my son’s college ring, and I have tried for 5 months. In November, Balfour took possession of the ring for repair. After the repair was completed or attempted, the ring was supposedly shipped back by USPS and was lost in transit while still under Balfour’s custody and control.

Patricio Molina of Balfour then advised that a replacement ring would be manufactured and that the process would take approximately six weeks. That timeframe has now passed, and the replacement has still not been delivered.

Since then, I have made repeated efforts - calling and emailing multiple times each week - to get clear, reliable information about the status of the replacement order, but communication has been limited to generic responses that do not resolve the issue. I was also told by Virginia Vega the matter would be escalated to her supervisor, and I was assured I would get a return call in 2 business days. Not only has that has not led to any meaningful action, but when I called to ask why no one returned my call, Virginia said her supervisor is on vacation and sent me to the voicemail that was full and not able to receive messages. I was transferred back to Virginia, and she said she would not contact her supervisor’s supervisor nor would she reach out to the repair team. She also pretended not to hear me.
This ring (Balfour reference number 4074046-1) is both financially valuable ($1400) and deeply sentimental to my son, and the lack of accountability, follow-through, and transparency has been extremely frustrating.
I am simply asking Balfour to do what it said it would do: provide written confirmation of the replacement order status, complete the replacement without further delay, and ship it through a secure, trackable, and insured method. USPS is neither of those. I would appreciate your help in ensuring this matter is resolved promptly.

If I could give them a 0 I would

If I could give them a 0 I would. Their warranty is not a warranty at all. It’s a scam. I had to order a replacement and paid almost double what I had originally paid when their warranty states that you should only be paying for the price of any diamonds or anything that you had added on but the ring itself was to be replaced. I called them couldn’t give me a breakdown on the price other than the excuse of “it’s the deductible”. I sent them an email and their response said there is no tracking on my new replacement. There is no invoice that I can view until it comes with the ring (whenever). There is no confirmation of the order. There is no receipt. All except for the money being taken out of my account. WHAT A SCAMMMM!!!

The unprofessionalism is real

I'm pretty sure it's just ten people working in a garage. They are completely unprofessional with everything. The whole service was sketchy, and nothing arrived like it was supposed to. This has completely ruined my graduation experience. I'm embarrassed to even have to work with them.

I ordered my daughter's ring two months in advance of graduation, which is this Friday the 12th. The ring will not be even close to ready by graduation. There's a ring ceremony. She won't have her ring. NOT pleased.

TERRIBLE AND DISHONEST

Sent 1968 college ring to be resized. They destroyed it. Said they would provide new replica ring. They did not. Patched together ring they broke and tried to pass it off. Will be contacting my jeweler to assess options. Criminal complaint may be an option.

Balfour Lies

Balfour lies. They lied about receiving my payment. They lost my payment. They lied about delivery date———three times. They truly hate the military, especially West Point, as they continue to lie to me and I still don’t have my ring. Every time I ask them when it will be ready they say,”Your ring is the next one up so you should have it in less than a month.” That last one was a lie told to me three times. They hire people who neither speak English nor understand English. I’m writing this review after being lied to from 1 February 2025 to 29 October 2025 as I still don’t have my ring!! They don’t care and never will care because they own you!!!

Horrendous; avoid balfour at all costs

Balfour changed how they "interpret" their warranty without anything in writing, saying all previous covered repairs must have been a "courtesy" which is documented not true.

They also said my covered ring was irreplaceable and had to be melted down, whereas multiple other jewelers said it was repairable without melting down and at a fraction of the cost.

I asked Balfour to confirm these issues with their legal team and their craftsman of which they didn't and continued spouting completely lies out of seemingly cooperate greed and negligence.

Horrendous experience; avoid balfour rings *at all costs*.

Don’t buy a school ring from Balfour- mine looks like it came from cereal box!

I ordered a school ring from Balfour. I had been saving for it for many years. When it arrived I couldn’t believe how hideous it is. The bulldog (mascot of the school) is just an indistinguishable blob of metal. They abbreviated my degree incorrectly (I have a PhD but they put PHD which is absolutely incorrect). The metal top is definitely not the 14K gold of the rest of the ring and looks cheat and doesn’t even sit flush with the ring. I called customer service and they basically said, “sorry nothing we can do for you) I can’t imagine wearing this ring and it cost $1400. I filled a complaint with BBB and I’m looking in to other methods of trying to get this resolved.

I don't recommend this company!

I don't recommend this company. They charge for "retouching" and they don't retouch and when you call to adjust or some sort of resolution they say "we did it" and you can clearly see they didn't. DO NO USE OR ORDER!

I have placed an order for a university…

I have placed an order for a university class ring and paid 2185 dollars which was way overpriced for the gold content and they emailed me that they cannot put the degree and graduation year on the ring so I cancelled the order and requested a full refund and it’s already been 2 weeks and NO refund was given to me . So now I am out of the 2185 dollars and NO class ring . This company is a fraud and they stole my money and refuse to refund me even the order was cancelled within a few days . Avoid this company and I do NOT recommend it at all and not even to my enemies . I am still waiting for a refund and every time that I call their customer service I get false information and the run around

Balfour has the worst service right now

Balfour has the worst service right now. My nephew ring order was submitted 4 months ago, and it's still not here. Balfour has given 4 different dates and reason for delay.They are not responding to my sis. they are blaming their mexico plant. they had issues with graduation stuff getting through custom. it used to be a good company. leadership not good.
