Broken Links - Impossible to Donate - No customer support
What a painful process. I could not donate to my charity which was in timely need of funding for a project in Africa.
Links were broken, no customer service, impossible to contact anyone. This can not be that complicated. It is difficult enough for someone to commit to donate, and then there is Benevity back-end that fails for the non-profit.
Disappointing to say the least.
Benevity is doing something truly meaningful in the world
Benevity is doing something truly meaningful in the world. In a time when nonprofits often struggle to be seen and supported globally, Benevity has created a platform that connects corporations, employees, nonprofits, and communities in a way that feels both human and impactful.
What impresses me most is their commitment to making giving accessible, organized, and far-reaching. Through Benevity, nonprofits gain visibility and access to funding opportunities that might otherwise never reach them, while companies and their employees are empowered to support causes they genuinely care about. Their platform supports donations, volunteering, grants, and employee engagement on a global scale, thus creating opportunities to improve lives, strengthen communities, and encourage a culture of generosity and responsibility.
The world needs more organizations that help bridge compassion with action, and Benevity is clearly leading that effort with vision, innovation, and heart.
Sleep with dogs catch fleas
A private FinTech Corp, primarily owned by a group of private equity investors. 100% match for supporters of Friends of the Israeli Defence Forces (FIDF), and HaYovel, an organisation that sends volunteers to work on farms in illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian land. Get your CSR, ESG, DEI stakeholder capitalist points here at a 'social impact' price even money can't buy.
Clunky and labour intensive.
This platform is extremely clunky and labour intensive to set up from the receiver end. Lots of information and proof is required (even though we are registered with both companies house and the charities commission and all those details are available directly from those two organisations) and the platform also has to be operated largely by only one named person from the charity, with transference an extremely difficult process. This is not practical for charities with part time and frequently shifting volunteers. As a non-profit, small, local charity based in the UK, we do not have any full-time members of staff or volunteers. If you ask a question using the help function, you sometimes won’t get a reply for hours, which is fine, but then, if you don’t reply within a very short time frame, the query is closed without helping you and you have to begin all over again. Again not very practical for a charity with limited opening hours and part time staff who do not devote their full time to admin.
Delayed Release of Funds For the last three months
For the last three months, we approved funds to be released. They keep moving the release date.
It appears this company must be intentionally extending dates to release funds. Funds were sent to Benevity by the employer several months ago. The organization has not received funds since December.
Benevity charges extremely high rates…
Benevity charges extremely high rates if a nonprofit decides to receive donations by check. After the first tow disbursement, they charge the higher of $35 USD/CAD per check or 8% of the amount of the check, to a maximum of $125 USD/CAD. They will send a notification that the nonprofit will receive funds sometime soon, but they won't give a date showing when they are sending the donation. Whoever process the donation has to dig through a spreadsheet to find the donor information. Overall, they could make it much easier for nonprofits to record donations received through Benevity.
There seems to be a gap in the stage…
There seems to be a gap in the stage between attracting clients and their actual involvement in the project. During the webinar, several questions raised in the chat—including mine—weren’t addressed, which left some important areas unclear.
Benevity has been a great resource for non-profit
Benevity has been a great resource for our little non-profit. Every time I have a question, they are very responsive and able to walk me through all my questions and resolve them speedily!

Disappointing webinar - lack of vital insights
I found the webinar that was supposed to be about Becoming Findable to get Funded, rather disappointing. It seemed more of a basic walk-through of setting up your charity + project page, and what happens after you get donations (the payment process).
The essential part in between (a client finding your organisation and contributing to the project) is lacking vital insight, based on many of the questions shared in the chat during the webinar that were left unanswered, including my own.
I still have no idea what it looks like on the client side so that we can actually hook into that Visibility side. We don't get much to go on being allowed to only insert text with zero formatting, I can only imagine it looks horrifying on the other end.

Step-by-step visuals
I love that Benevity sends out reminders far in advance of when reports need to be submitted. The step-by-step process is a great visual of where we are in the process of registration and completion of tasks.Benevity was quick to pay out benefits as well. Would totally recommend Benevity to all.

Our experience with Benevity has been…
Our experience with Benevity has been truly impactful. As a nonprofit dedicated to serving the homeless, orphans, widows, and individuals in prison, we strive to restore relationships, rebuild lives, and reflect God’s unconditional love through practical outreach and genuine support.
Through Benevity’s platform, we are looking to connect with generous donors and organizations who share our heart for helping vulnerable communities. Companies who are transparent, and supportive making it easier for us to focus on the real work: loving people back to wholeness.

All in all the webinar was informative
All in all the webinar was informative. I think the Q&A was the most helpful. The moderators went pretty fast with the information they were dispersing.
Overall it was a good call.

The webinar was informative
The webinar was informative, and I learned about some things I didn't know before that would help me improve my profile. But I still don't understand how to attract more companies to our profile. That is still a bit vague.

How can my nonprofit get more visibility?
I would have loved to learn more strategy to getting our project seen...is it because of location, popularity, etc.

A platform that really works and resources to help
This company provides a platform that works and is easy to use, education seminars that make a positive difference and offer real solutions, and they provide useful resources. I love their platform and will keep using it.

The information was helpful
The information was straightforward and easy to understand. I learned how to read (and understand) the reports. I also heard several tips on changes I can make to my profile to hopefully draw more donors.

How do donors engage via benevity?
The setup was straight forward. However, once my profile is completed, there is nothing that shows how my donors can use benevity to donate to my organization and how my donors can search for their employers.
