Chamonix is a “ville de merde”

Chamonix is a “ville de merde”. Buses, hotel rooms, lots of stores have no air conditioning, bus drivers are rude, boulangeries don’t have choices for lactose or gluten intolerant people. Not to talk about vegans! Most store owners and vendors are rude, mean, disrespectful toward elderly and foreigners. Few years ago, it was enough to have the proof that you paid a hotel room to have the local buses for free, now they charge you regardless. Also 10 years ago, you could go climb Mont Blanc when you wanted and how you wanted. I climbed it in those times and it was wonderful. Now you have to make reservations in a refuge many months ahead, even so you don’t want to sleep in a refuge. I get sick each time I spend a night in their stinky refuges. They are all for money in this shitty town! They want to take advantage of the fact that many people want to climb MB. Don’t go to Chamonix! Go to a poor African town if you want to experience the same thing. There it’s at least cheaper! Chamonix, a ville de merde!

I visit Chamonix since 2014 and each year is worst

I visit Chamonix since 2014 and each year is worst...
During this Christmas
1) avarage time to wait for bus connecting the various sites is between 30 to 45 minutes, while there are plenty of private buses passing
2) daily skipass is 84 euro and 4h skipass is 64 euro, amongst the most expensive in Europe (except Switzerland)
3) 60 years old skilifts (it is sufficient to go to La Tour)
4) Complete unuse of artificial snow, even if the system are in place, with result that the snow condition is often extremely poor.

Really poor....

Chamonix - too expensive, too old, too french arrogant

Way too expensive, french arrogant, old and disconnected. Most places are 20-40 minutes by bus from city, lifts are old, queues are long, ski-passes are way too expensive for this. You cannot even ski on-piste on the mountain, that they want every one to see and visit... Its french, arrogant, and too expensive. Go somewhere else.
