The Bear Inn Berkswell
Had a lovely 30th birthday lunch on Saturday 12th September for my daughter. This is a lovely historic country pub with lots of character. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond to cater for our party of 7. Nothing was too much trouble. There is a full and varied menu including a specials board. The food and drinks were of an excellent standard. I recommend the special lamb rump. We had bought our own birthday cake which the staff mounted on a board with decoration. A special thank you to Frankie Helen & Michelle. Would highly recommend

Collected take away Cod & Chips & Mushy peas. Cost was £17.00. Cod was more batter than Fish- chips cooked from frozen- not prepared from fresh potatoes as one would expect for price charged. Description of Cod & Chips on Menu- very misleading- doesn't match the real food served up. Also found out that prices for same food at different Pub was a £1 more. Staff not to blame. Been a Customer of Chef & Brewer for many years but will be going elsewhere.

Went to the Britannia in Northampton. This is our go to restaurant as it's pretty much always been good food of a high standard. Went there today for the first time in a few months and was utterly disappointed. I ordered the sirloin steak which when arrived at the table I couldn't believe how terrible it looked. There were no mushrooms, no onion ring, no peas and not even a lettuce leaf garnish. All I had was a piece of sub standard thinly cut steak with a mere handful of bog standard chips. On the side was half a tomato. For £22 this is an absolute disgrace. I could go to another well known restaurant and pay £10 more to get a fillet steak with the works. Won't be coming back and feel totally ripped off.

Just visited the Green Man , on Mulberry Green, Old Harlow. We ordered drinks and had barely taken a sip before our food arrived (about 5 mins). Hubby had gammon steak which looked ok, I had chicken Caesar salad. There were two anchovies and three croutons, all of which I had to search for, the Parmesan cheese was missing, and at £19 what was on the plate was grossly overpriced. Sadly not enough care is taken when preparing the plates. It’s not the first time we’ve been disappointed with our meals. On the bright side, our waitress Amy was very nice and friendly.

We were a party of 4 at the ball& wicket Farnham . To say the food was poor was an understatement the chips looked like they were found at the back of the oven , the veg was so hard iam not sure they went near a pan . The mash looked like it was over cooked in the microwave .the staff were friendly on the plus side

We booked a table for 6 adults and 2 children. From the outset the waitress treated us like we were an inconvenience. Service was painfully slow, resulting in us deciding not to have additional drinks or desserts as we had already sat for 2 and a half hours. Food was generally of poor quality, and certainly not good value. We will not be visiting again, or recommending to anyone.

Had a great experience. The table was outside and looking at the river and a lovely Victorian house, very considerate to have an outside non-smoking area to enjoy a nice dinner on a sunny day. The food was very good and served quickly by friendly staff.

Had a meal at The Boathouse in Peterborough with a friend. Good points - we both enjoyed our food, and I paid £ 15.25 for a creamy butternut curry with rice, followed by 3 scoops of ice cream, which I thought was reasonable. I'm both Vegan and Gluten-Free, but the website for The Boathouse allows you to filter out various allergens, which really helped. Service at the bar was slow but they were rather busy (it was a Saturday), so somewhat understandable. The car park was almost full, so clearly a popular choice. The dining area was pleasant enough with a good choice of tables. I would gladly dine there again.

My husband and I visited The Travellers Rest Mapperley, Nottingham Tuesday 7th July for an evening meal. We hadn't been for well over a year and it hadn't impressed us much at that time. However, pleased to say the service, atmosphere and food were so much better than our last visit. It was a last minute decision to attend at this venue but pleased that we did. Menu had lots of choices, posh food available along with every day favourites on the menu. Fish & Chips and good old steak & ale pie were the choices made on this occasion but we have already sussed out the menu choice for our next visit which includes Lamb rump and a Tangine that sounded mouth watering. It's very rare that either of us eat puddings but on this occasion, one felt it would be rude not to. They have mini puddings with a hot drink also, the Bakewell tart is certainly worth trying but the next time it won't be the mini one as this is also shown on the main pudding list. We were served by a lovely young lady called Layla who certainly knew her job and her customers needs. Very attentive but not over the top and very helpful. Thank you Leyla.

My family and I visited the Riverside at Cound (Near Shrewsbury) for my 50th lunch. From the moment we were seated nothing was too much trouble, even with the hottest temperatures since 1976! Lesley was amazing, ensuring we had drinks and were happy with our seat. The other staff were great with taking food orders, bringing food and a cake my mum had dropped off! We will be back very soon! great restaurant with amazing staff!

We had a party of 8 for a 50th wedding anniversary dinner. This was at the White House in Roundhay, Leeds. Several of the food options were not available, in fact the two things I had chosen were not available. I decided to go with the Korean Chicken which came well overdone, like leather with the outside burnt from being on a rack. I ate one piece but couldnt face to eat the other. There was no air con on and we sweltered in the heat of 30 degrees outside which made the whole experience unbearable. There were no windows we could open, We were told someone would bring a fan (twice) but it never arrived. I have heard some good things about the White House and that is why I booked there but the whole meal just wasnt up to standard. I was given a refund for my meal but it was very disappointing on such a special day. One of my friend's lasagne meal was overcooked and burnt round the edges and she ended up just eating the middle. This was not refunded. Some of our other guests said their gammon was dry but they managed to eat some of it.

Visited The Kings Arms Sandford-On-Thames. Lovely location okay food. Despite being told twice the car-park registration terminals were not working got £100 fine today. So despite okay food - no potatoes but mash substitute fine, fish and chips okay batter x2 the volume of fish though - nice location and the fine is suposedly being cancelled It's abeen a hassle and inconvenience to try and sort out.

A party of 6 attended the Shire Horse, Maidenhead, for a birthday celebration. The waiter, Stephen, did an excellent job. He was polite & tentative, working hard to meet all are needs. The food was great and a good time was had by all. Well done Shire Horse & well done Stephen.

Today went to ..The Griffin..Bowdon..no fish on the menu only cod znd chips..as l dont eat meat the day was spoiled for me..l thought you would have had more variety of fish dishes...As l am 88 and it was a special day l feel dissapointed..

On a day out in the country, enjoying the beautiful weather, we dropped into The Battle Axes hoping to find a table. There was space in the large car park and we were greeted in a friendly manner at the door. We were very pleased to be told there was a table and were taken to it immediately. The restaurant is full of charm, with nooks and crannies and a large open fireplace, currently stacked high with cut logs in readiness for the colder weather. The staff were excellent and our main server, Manish, and the others looked after us really well. There is a very wide choice on the main, and Specials, menus and we chose our drinks, and starter of Belly Pork Bites, main of Steak and Ale Pie and dessert of Tiramisu. The Belly Pork Bites were delicious and came with a delightfully tangy chutney. The pies, and these are real, full, pies and not just a pastry top, were excellent. Full of meat and gravy with a strong taste of the Ale, and not a piece of gristle. The Tiramisu was stunning. A very generous portion, on a sponge base, deep and creamy. We really enjoyed this experience. The restaurant has a lovey ambiance, the food was delicious and the staff were incredible. This is a place we can thoroughly recommend, and one we will return to again.

The Maenllwyd Inn, Rudry Caerfilly area

Popped in yesterday to take a look and a drink..Pub well presented for a small place. Food on the tables looked good and presentable at slightly higher prices than we normally would pay, however for good food a little more is acceptable. We were going to eat,but that's the end of the good..
DRINKS!! absolute Rip Off. glass of wine £12 and not good wine either..And the creme de la creme.. Glass of Guinness Zero £5.90 I kid you not! £5.90..comes in trade at less than a £1..rip off merchants avoid. Price for 3 drinks £27.50. caught me once but never again.

At the Chiltern Hundreds we arrived for lunch at 3.30 having been delayed, we were found a table, the food was excellent and the service by Shirley even better. Pub food as it should be

Entered ordered our meal said we had voucher free 2nd meal she said voucher was no good i looked it states free meal just above the book a table so I booked it she said read on, then It stated sat,Sunday only what a SCAM ,meals arrived my plate was stone cold my freinds hot ,steak tough my freind took his home for the dog that's all it was fit for , my meal was cold before I had started to get stuck in all In all Avoide the Chef and brewer Ashby De La Zouch , possible closeure no wonder it was near empty at 6.30pm.
Staff unhelpful.food poor quality .

Forwarded the complaint to supplied email they say its not there pub resturant ?????

The meal and service was good and Mark made us welcome.
Tried to book on the internet but computer says “no availability” so phoned and spoke to the robot who booked us in, there was loads of availability.
So maybe that needs a look at.
