I have just had a Solar Edge optimiser fail. One phone call to Chelsfield Solar and the fault was confirmed and a replacement optimiser ordered which will be fitted under warranty as soon as it is available.

I had solar panels installed by Chelsfield in 2009 which was competitively priced and I was given several options. Installation was delayed by the need to get planning permission as I live in an area of outstanding natural beauty but when done was completed in less than a day. Since then I have had one solar panel replaced due to damage caused by some sort of impact and in this case I was offered a choice of an identical second hand panel or a brand new one of a different brand. I have also had the generation meter fail which was again replaced in a timely manner.

In 2022 the original inverter was still working but nearing the end of its life so a decision was made to replace it with a new Solar Edge inverter and have optimisers fitted to all the panels. This again was competitively priced and installed very quickly.

I have always found Chelsfield Solar to be very responsive to emails and phone calls and always willing to do everything they can to help. On every occasion the installers have been extremely competent and efficient.

I have absolutely no regrets about using Chelsfield Solar in 2009 and since.

They came to do a check on our solar system for which I paid 200. They were here half an hour and did very cursory inspection- and couldn't report on part of the system because of 'lack of light'...i.e. they were in the loft and apparently couldn't afford a torch. Then took them a week to email me the one-page report, but only after I reminded them. Shocking for a company which purports to be respectable.

We did experience delays because of the supply chain. They did make me aware of this before ordering, though. It was six weeks longer than they thought, which is a little annoying about the difference between six months to seven months is not that much. I have always found them helpful on the phone and easy to get hold of. They also responded to e-mails. I have no problem recommending them to anyone and have done so to friends that were looking at putting a complete system in place. I think they got excellent customer service and an old school mentality.

Also, I can recommend products that are easy to use, and when I messed up the setting, they fixed everything for me on their system and are now working a treat.

I am writing this review because so many people just moan, and I think it is nice to take the time to say thank you when a company does good work.

Although we did experience a few supply chain related issues (over which Chelsfield Solar had no control), we are very happy with service and installation we have received. Pre-sales was great, with all the options well explained and regular updates regarding delays to the panels and battery. Sites site visits were punctual and informative, and the scaffolding was put up and dismantled on the days agreed without any fuss. Finally the installation team did a great job even when presented with a few left-field challenges in the form of a brand new version of the inverter!

Investing in solar is a complex process, but I am confident that thanks to Chelsfield Solar we have the right system for our needs and any issues will be dealt with effectively in the future. Highly recommended.

Very happy with the service we have received from Chelsfield Solar. They have been competitive on price and provided a high quality installation of solar panels and inverter in 2015 and a myenergi zappi charger in 2019. I have appreciated their advice on the different solutions available and we are looking forward to having them add a GivEnergy battery storage solution soon. The only negative is that they are victims of their own success, being exceptionally busy during this 'energy crisis' but their fantastic service is worth the wait though.

Chelsfield installed our solar panels in 2018 and did a brilliant job. The system they helped us choose means we are, net, spending very little at all on electricity. They took good care, worked with the other contractors on site well, and were great to deal with. And the ongoing support has been excellent. This week, 4 years later, they were back to fix a couple of optimisers on the roof. I wouldn't even consider look for other quotes when we install on whatever next house we move to!
