After sales is a nightmare
The installation was okay. Polite and tidy personnel who had the system up and running easily. We had wanted more panels but were told that they could not put panels on a flat roof although our neighbour who had a system installed by Chiltern a few weeks after us have 6 on a similar sized flat roof!
But our main problem had been after sales. We needed to change our WiFi hub and lost connection between the system and app. They supplied lengthy instructions for us to do this ourselves but neither my husband or I could get the connection back up despite following all steps and getting the expected responses at each step. After several calls and emails we eventually resorted to a good old fashioned letter. This elicited an engineer’s visit add after numerous attempts he finally got it working (so not just us then?). But he noticed the battery wasn’t charging and possibly hadn’t been for 8-9 months. Of course with no app access we couldn’t have determined this. We have since called and emailed several times with no result and two letters have failed to achieve anything. We are an all electric house so battery storage was an important element of our choice of provide. Come on Chiltern get your act together. This battery is still in guarantee and hasn’t worked for almost a year
