We had work done by Chris Ball two years' ago and there is a problem now. They completed a flat-roof installation but there are now signs of damp. Unfortunately the telephone numbers listed on the website seem now to be disabled while the contact form on the website is also inoperative. They have not replied to emails. The question is whether they are still in business? The website suggests they are but they have not responded to all attempts to contact them. I would avoid at all costs.

A large flat roof job done in 2013 with a warranty which was a fake! Sappi,the company whose material they used says it has never heard of Chris Ball Roofing.
We now have a problem, half way through a 20 year warranty and the Chris Ball Roofing Ltd is in liquidation!!

Unfortunately I have to agree with the negative reviews listed here.

Appalling. 2 week's work turned into 2 months and counting. The company blames it on velux window shortage but other work (lead flashing renewal, slate renewal) was left hanging too. No effort to protect my property from water ingress. Now we have water damage on our newly renovated property.

Completed the roof at Beccehamian RFC to a high standard, In an out in no time at all considering the amount of work required.

A great service with no fuss.

Didn’t carry out the majority of work agreed and so didn’t fulfil the contract but trust to charge for the works that weren’t carried out and only after querying a number of times and requesting photo proof did they accept they hadn’t done so. Really rude, aggressive and only interested in making money. No integrity or scruples

Had a quote for 4 ridge caps to be replaced / re-pointed and for a small felt roof repair that the surveyor said is in good order with just a minor adjustment needed to the edges where it meets the chimney stack.
The quote that arrived yesterday was ~£4.25K incl VAT. I know there is madness going around at the moment but this takes the biscuit if you could find one in the shops. Is one of the symptoms of Corona extreme pisstaking ? Obviously I will not be taking them up on their offer.
A lot of pensioners live on this road and they should not be prey for the unscrupulous. Avoid !

Update 27-07-21 :

Had a survey and estimate from a local firm who quoted £300 ( over ten times less ! ) for the work ( actually more in line with the previous company's own surveyor ! - but not them ) and they have completed - it has stood up to the recent biblical flooding. I managed to swerve the plague of overcharging as well as the recent plague of pestilence. Prayers and reading trustpilot are good protection.

I instructed this firm as they appeared more professional than most of the other builders I have dealt with in the past. They are certainly a lot more expensive.
They turned up on time and completed the work promptly, but have now left the scaffolding on my house because they are 'too busy' to take it down as they have a big job on elsewhere. They are unable to tell me when they will remove it.
In common with all builders I have dealt with in the past, as soon as they have been paid, they push off to another job without finishing the last one.
I am currently looking for another firm to remove the scaffolding which is a clear invitation to any passing burglar
I would not recommend these people to others as although they have a superficial patina of professionalism, they exhibit casual indifference to the customer once they have been paid. Avoid.

We had a flat roof replaced by another company which was leaking again within 6 months, we then called in Chris Ball roofing who replaced the roof and 11 years later it is still going strong (flat rooves notoriously start to leak again after a while!). They were professional and efficient and I would highly recommend

I was looking for a new roof along and got a number of quotes, many of which were absolutely extortionate (and far in excess of what is quoted as a reasonable rate when looking online) - the Steve Ball quote was amongst the best value, but what was also noted was that their surveyor (unlike those from the other roofers we talked to) didn't say that the whole roof needed to be replaced immediately: we were provided with the cheaper option of maintenance work which was very helpful, and not at all pushy. Others tried to push us into a full re-roof immediately (although we did actually opt for this as it was the most cost effective way).

The final finish looks very good indeed and was delivered as per the estimate. Whilst there were some delays due to bad weather, and at times the company could have been a bit better at keeping us informed, they compensated by offering to remove some debris and do a little bit of additional redecoration free of charge. The work also comes with a decent guarantee. The head of the company offered very prompt responses to email requests. Overall I am very pleased with the job and quality of work and would recommend this company.

We found Chris Ball Roofing through a Google search, and what a find they turned out to be! We had had a quote from a general builder who ended up being more expensive and less informed about roof's, not a great combination! Steve Ball advised us with a view to giving us all the options, so we could make an informed decision. The result is a new roof that is insulated and water tight, two qualities that our old roof was not very good at. Ask for "Darren" and the "twins" as they did our work to a high standard and were polite and a pleasure to have on site from start to beginning. The work being done around tricky weather in December. We ended up with a new flat roof with 120mm insulation and rubberised felt, new boards, as well as having our pitch re-done with Felt and Batons. We will happily recommend Chris Ball roofing to our friends & neighbours as a competent and friendly company to deal with, and as the owner of a small business myself i appreciate the effort and experience they have. Highly recommended by the Carter's!

Chris Ball Roofing are like a breath of fresh air in the building industry. After experiencing a not so good service from other Roofing companies in the past. I was more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of workmanship by there engineers. Honest, reliable, and thorough. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a very professional service.

All staff were polite and considerate at all times.
