Overall my experience having an air-source heat pump and solar panels fitted was excellent. The only reason I have not given 5 is that I could have benefitted from more preparation beforehand about wh... See more

I was a customer of CES, CES sadly went into administration. CES went under at a time they had not finished the job at my property.
At the time of CES going “under” I had no idea what to do, who was going to finish the work and how was I going to “project manage”
To cut a long story short:- CITY ENERGY came to my property, carried out an assessment and then gave a date when they would start the “work”
Bliming ek:- City are professional at all levels “Jess, juliann, Dave & Daryl ….they know their business! They explained the work project that they were going to do and not only were they easy to communicate with, they were easily contactable ….
On the date the work started I met “bob the builder” aka Chris ! He was excellent in all the work her carried out (making doors, skirting boards, putting ceilings up and making boxes for the fuse box….chris work was and is excellent!!! Hence the name “bob the builder….can her fix it YES HE CAN
Then Hercules (gethin the electrician came to the property and he put all electrics in order and his work was excellent!!!! He is a polite and experienced electrician! Hercules as he even has muscles that Hercules would be proud of!
Then the plumber…..the dreaded plumber and I had “Mathew and his apprentice Turbo….i have never met a plumber / engineer like Mathew….he is awesome and to see him pass his knowledge onto turbo was a delight to see. Mathew doesn’t need an alias as he is the plumber/ engineer that makes all complications correct!
I can write a billion words but I must keep this short…..if city come to your house just chill out and watch craftsmanship in motion!
So happy, so pleasr and the work carried out would impress the ones responsible for building the pyramids ……
Thank you city!!!!!!!!
City Energy network came to us on an emergency call today 27th March 2026a lovely guy called Gareth Walters fixed our boiler in no time at all. The company we had before Consumer energy solutions have gone into administration and left us and so many more customers in the lurch.Trust Mark have been great in finding some one for us and along came Gareth ,the service was amazing.Thank you we are now warm again.
We’ve just had an emergency call out visit from Gareth Walters from City Energy Network to make a repair to our air source heat pump. Not only was the call-out dealt with the same day, Gareth was brilliantly quick and efficient to make the repair - made even better when he showed me what the problem was and how to fix it next time! Nice friendly chap too. Thank you!
George and his manager simon attended with a pre call. Very clean and tidy job. Very sociable and very pleased with their work. After multiple failed attempts from other companies, they worked together to get the job done.
The company who installed our heat source pump went out of business, leaving us with a system that didn't work as it should. Our main boiler is an oil-fired combo boiler - we live in a rural area. The system that we had installed was called a hybrid system. The heat source pump and oil boiler were designed to work together in the most cost effective way, depending on the outside temperature. Theory and reality were worlds apart. After innumerable visits and a lot of strain we were on the verge of having the heat source pump etc removed and to go back to just the oil boiler. CEN were given the job of sorting out the problems left behind by the other company. In our case they certainly rose to the challenge. In particular Gary Walters and Rhys worked tirelessly to get the two systems working together. This was a difficult task and it involved liaising with BOSH the makers of both the heat source pump and the oil boiler to make all the necessary adjustments to get the two systems working together. Everything has continued to work well and I'm really happy with the final result.
City Energy have taken on the task of repairing the mess made by the now defunct CES. What difference! Efficiency, professionalism, knowledgable experts who actually care about getting things right & respect my property. Special thanks to Gareth Walker, Rhys Davies - and Jess O'Donovan in the office. I wish I could give them six stars.
After drilling a 9 inch core hole through a cavity wall , in the living room of my home, in the wrong place ie not where the surveyor said it would be.
After weeks of emails and telephone calls they agreed to repair the hole !
I explained that I expected it to be to the same standard as it was prior to the hole being drilled.
I explained that it would need painting inside and outside and that lining paper and plaster finish inside would be necessary!
They agreed to do the repair but I would have to sign a disclaimer that I didn't want an electric vent fan there !
Which obviously I didn't want in my living room.
A tradesman turned up at .08-30 am and was finished by 09.30 am ?
A solid bung of sand and cement through the cavity and a rough finish with poly filler on the inside.
He then asked my to sign on his phone the disclaimer for the vent.
When I asked him to zoom out of the signature box so I could see what I was signing , it was actually also to say I was happy with the work carried out !!
I refused to sign it as I wasn't happy !
He agreed and said a painter would come and finish the job to a good standard.
Then once again after numerous emails and telephone calls the management told me that they don't do remedial work after installation!
My argument is that the hole shouldn't have even been there !!
I offered to get a local professional trades person to finish the job correctly and forward them the invoice to pay.
They have not replied to emails or telephone calls.
A large company like this not looking after their customers. My old fashioned values when working in someone's house was to treat it like it was your own !!
They made a mistake and now I have to pay to have it rectified!
Poor quality workmanship and even poorer after care by management!!
Avoid at all cost.
Gareth Walters heating engineer, has just been to our house to fix the air source. He's been brilliant. Not only has he got it working but he's showed my husband how to make sure the air pressure is maintained while the system settles and any air trapped escapes. Absolutely brilliant! Such a friendly polite young man!
Honestly cannot praise City Energy Network Limited enough & especially Jess.
My eldery parents had been without hot water & sometimes heating since beg of December which has been extremely stressful.
After contacting Jess & the team - Gareth from All Pipes has been amazing & got it all back working even driving over 2 hours on a Sunday to sort things out.
We cannot thank Gareth - All Pipes enough as he was so considerate and helpful.
Thank you so so much Jess & Gareth & all the team we are all so so appreciative.

City energy network took over CES in December, We had an ECO 4 installation originally planned for the first week in Dec, this was pushed forward due to weather to the first week in January. This is posted on the 10th of Jan and as yet have only received an advisory on the take over and a computer generated reply. It would be very helpful if information was disseminated to ALL customers with out standing work.
I am saddened to read the negative reviews about this company as this wasn't the experience I received. I honestly can't say enough good things about everyone at City Energy Network. From the tradespeople on site to the team in the office, everyone was brilliant.
The communication was fantastic, I was always kept in the loop about any schedule changes, got a clear rundown each day of what to expect, and received a full schedule of works before anything even started. Mike and Garry, who handled the installation, were incredibly considerate. Every single evening, they tidied each room they had worked in, thoroughly, making sure everything was safe and clean. That meant the world to me, especially with my pets around.
What really stood out was the team's dedication. Everyone was polite, worked incredibly hard, and were completely focused, no standing around, just 100% effort to do a great job. The standard of work was really high.
I do have a couple of thoughts, more as ideas for the future than complaints. First, if 3D plans were available before work begins, it would give homeowners a perfect preview of how much space the new insulation will take up. I had to shuffle a few things around, which was fine for me, but others might appreciate that heads up, visually.
My second suggestion is something I’d have happily paid for. The team was great about bagging up all the waste and the team later taking it away. However, I didn't realise the ground underneath needed a quick clean, just some dust and small debris. I spent about half an hour with a bucket and brush, which was no problem for me, but for elderly customers or anyone less mobile, it could be a real challenge. Perhaps the company could offer a final surface clean as a small, optional extra for maybe £20-£30? I think it would be a really valuable service for many.
But truly, it was a top notch experience from start to finish. Thank you to the whole team.
well to begin , mess up after mess up stud wall all ok . plaster not up to standard vent on window leeking and sticking ,cupboard over meter slanted , top of window reveal slanted can not put blinds up ? they do answer phones or email . so i am going to see my local mp . this has been about 3 weeks now ,what a big mess-up .
Absolutely shocking company.. the work was going well in the beginning until about day 3 when as part of the packed was for us to have extractor fans fitted as well as tickle vents all on windows.. we were left with a hole in the bathroom wall for 4 days before anything was put in place leaving dust get in every where possible... work men turning up whenever it suited them leaving mess behind for me to clear up knowing I have young children in the property.. fast forward 2 weeks we are still waiting for someone to come back and finish fitting extractor fans so job can be signed off altho I hold zero hope of this as they are impossible to get hold of! Wish I never went ahead with the insulation work now
Whilst the installation of the cavity wall insulation appeared ok at the time, after having some work to our roof it appeared they had not filled up the walls to the top and so making the insulation quite worthless. No response to five emails to the company across 4 months. The accreditation company they gave us at the time, Trustmark, say the company no longer register with them for insulation, so I went to NAPIT who have said exactly the same.
So work is done shoddily and the lodged guarantees I was promised are worthless as the company has cancelled them.
Yet I see they are still trading and still quote they are accredited by these companies on there website.
Misleading and their willingness not to discuss a resolution should be a red flag for anyone thinking of using this company.
It is when things go wrong the true side of a company comes out and City Energy Network Limited have shown their colours and it is seriously not good.
I hope this may prompt the company to finally respond.
It great to have my meter and in home display working.
Thanks to Gary and Mike for the works they did they were very informative and considerate to me and my property. Would definitely recommend them. Thanks to Gary and Mike
We would like to express all our thanks and gratitude to you and all the employees who completed the installation in our home the tradesmen where very concencious and hard working solving the issues that arrived whilst installing the revamp of our heating system and new insulation we can’t praise them enough for the work on our home.
With many thanks
Kelvin&Jayne.
apart from only having hot water one day in three months the whole job has been a total nightmare , the only jobs that went smoothly was the insulations and the solar panels the rest has been a total nightmare , a guy came and made a hole in the bathroom wall a couple of months ago but no extractor fitted so I have cols air blowing in now they need to come a drill a hole for the kitchen extractor but the guy that came before said that he couldn't put it where they wanted it has this would mean compromising the lintel and bedroom floor but they say that they don't do the extractors that go through the glass window , the guy that did the survey measured up for a heater for under the front room window ,but they ordered one that was to tall so had to be sited elsewhere , keep away it is making me ill ,and still not sorted
I wrote a review some months ago saying I had problems contacting the company initially but once they got back in touch the work was scheduled and went ahead more or less to plan apart from the odd minor hiccup. The installation of my new boiler and the radiators was done in a professional, friendly and helpful manner. Joe and his team were excellent in every way. Turned up every day promptly and cleared up after every day. In the bathroom where I'd had a new floor a couple of years ago Joe expertly fitted the radiator. The boiler was installed neatly and the workmen took extra care fitting the fans because I had cupboards where it would have been easier for them. I was grateful for this...not to have to lose the use of the cupboards. The original loft insulation man let me down twice but a local firm from Ebbw Vale stepped in and completed the work swiftly and tidily and showed me photos of everything they had done. I would also like to thank the girls in the office especially at City Energy because they kept in touch with me all the time as needed once the initial formalities had been done. Lastly I would say that I had been put in touch with City Energy because the original people who were going to do the work were out of my area and they put me in touch with City Energy. City Energy organised the whole funding for this work to be done without any stress and I would like to thank them and their team very much. I am looking forwards to a lovely warm winter!
Absolute jokers. All started well when they were claiming the government grants towards the heating installation for our house but months into the work and our house still hasn’t been finished; leaking pipes; damaged new radiators, pipes left above floor level, exposed, exterior piping exposed to the weather and radiators not installed level mean the whole system isn’t finished and they have shown no interest in fixing it, meantime they are grabbing other money doing main new installations and not bothering to complete the work they should have. We have been left with an upturned house for many weeks and a dysfunctional system that they have now told us they would fix across 4 different appointments and not one person has returned with the items needed, despite the office confirming in writing, sometimes weeks in advance. They installed, then left us with leaking pipes, parts missing and an unfinished system. Do not recommend.
