Comfortable and clean

Really pleasant, helpful driver, Glasgow to Cairnryan. Bus was clean, air conditioning worked, phone charger worked. Wifi non-existent, though. But a comfortable smooth journey. Great and definitely beats taking the car.

Hi, I am glad you enjoyed your trip to Cairnryan.

It is pleasing to hear that the coach was clean with everything working on it.

Though unfortunately, we do not offer Wi-Fi on our services.

Grumpy driver

We got on the bus and the driver shouted at me because I removed my young Scot card too fast which seemed a bit much and left me feeling kind of embarrassed as there was a whole queue waiting behind me. Will be using ember next time. Gave two stars because the chargers were actaully working for once

Broken app, QR code issues, incompetent support and significant delay.

QR code not showing in the app, tried on two different phones, image attached to the email confirmation is blank and does not show a qr code. Several bus drives refused to let us on causing us over an hour of delay until we could get new QR codes issued by support who didn't investigate our issue properly initially and left us stranded. Just what we needed after being awake for over 20 hours!!!

Multiple bad experiences

Multiple bad experiences. Numerous times I have missed my bus because it did not show up on time and i was unable to track it, on time crunches I would have to make the decision to buy a train ticket instead, low and behold the bus finally decides to arrive, I run after it but it stopped for a mere 15 seconds before trudging along again. The inability to not be able to track my bus but having a special feature for it bewilders me, tracking it 30 minutes before it’s supposed to arrive you would think that would be a reasonable request- no siree! Bear in mind this has happened multiple times, also due to not being informed the bus stop has changed and it being the same original bus stop on the ticket I also missed my bus. Today I was charged £18 to get from pitlochry to Perth- £18! That is a disgrace!! Thieving money from people who have no other choice of transport and charging them £18 for a 40 minute journey is genuinely appalling. People are trying to make ends meet and charging these prices for unreliable services, unfriendly bus drivers, and often delayed journeys is so unfair. Please I am begging you to review how you do things here.

Travelled from Edinburgh bus station

We travelled from Edinburgh bus station to Aberdeen and our bus left exactly on time. We booked a 'table seat' costing £4 per person, as thought it would give us more space. We were disappointed as table consists of a very slim unit and passengers, who on this occasion, did not book their seats sat opposite us meaning space was very limited. But otherwise it was a very enjoyable journey. Our driver was very helpful and courteous. Bus was clean and tidy. So would book with Citylink again but not bother with table seat.

Great driver

The driver on Sunday Aug 30 from Glasgow to Inverness was very patient with everyone as they boarded.
Tickets - why are the ticket QR codes not on every email and in the app? Would speed things up for boarding.
Broxden bus station - are you speaking to whoever owns the site. You must lose minutes on every trip waiting to access there as the entrance is too narrow for a bus to turn in unless both lanes are clear.
Pitchlochry- driver needs a prize for navigating that

Smelly and cramped

First of all, this bus smells like rank rotten eggs, it’s gag worthy. I appreciate that if a customer does that in transit that’s not on citylink, but I was the second person on board and it was like that when we embarked. Second of all, the leg room is tiny. I’m in some knee pain. Is this how we want to introduce people to one of the most beautiful countries in the continent? I sent a picture of the tiny leg room to the Instagram team and was told well, it’s within regulation. Aka “we can get away with it. Sorry about the smell.”

Double decker bus

I have always used citylink and probably always will, but where I live in Brora could yous please please stop using double decker buses, ist very dangerous for people with hip and knee problems, and families with small children , the stairs are very dangerous. Every time I'm on the bus everyone complaining about this bus. I have fallen and nearly ended down the steps earlier this year I didn't complain driver saw what happened and was very good, damage was badly bruised, swollen and sore knee. ( replacement knee )

Hi Mary,

We are sorry to hear that you had a fall on one of our coaches. We would ask that you drop us an email to info@citylink.co.uk [info@citylink.co.uk] to allow us to investigate this incident.

In regards to the use of double decker coaches, due to the number of passengers that travel on this route, we use double deck coaches to ensure that they can travel.

We will certainly pass your concerns onto the route team for consideration.

909 11:30am Edinburgh bound coach.

27th August there had been a fatality on railway line. Resulting in rail passengers told to go to Stirling bus station, rather than rail network arranging coaches for said passengers.
I arrived to get my 909 bus to edinburgh airport only to find some 200 people awaiting glasgow and edinburgh coaches due to fatality.
The edinburgh driver deserves a medal on how he handled this situation.
He ruled all passengers who had booking would board first.
He then dealt with rail passengers, handling lots of luggage, checking seat availability ensuring everyone was seated with light luggage stored inside. This operation delayed the trip by some 40 minutes.
This driver dealt with this unexpected event with patience, courtesy and professionalism.
I suggest Citylink give him some kind of reward or a mention in despatches.
Well done that man. .

Driver great ..

Driver great ... friendly, chatty and comfortable trip.
Company needs to update information for customers travelling North from Pitlochry regarding temporary bus stop. No signage outside Fishers Hotel advising change (ambiguous sign on bus shelter opposite Fishers), no info on website and info on trip reminders still says 'Fishers Hotel'. Surely this can't be a difficult change, considering this road closure is for at least another 4 months.

Hi Pauline,

We appreciate your feedback regarding your recent travel experience.

We are delighted all aspects met your expectations apart from information on temporary stops in Pitlochry.

I can confirm there is signage at the bus stop location in Pitlochry provided by Perth and Kinross City Council which advises that for travel Northbound, the pick up location is at the Rie-Achan car park - so I can only apologise you weren't aware of this.

There is also a service update on our website under the 'Track My Coach' tab which advises the same information regarding the temporary stop which has been in placed since 15/06/2026.

I hope this provides clarification for future travel and we hope to see you travelling on our services again soon!
