The model behind the product is a good…but the implementation is terrible

The model behind the product is a good one. Add customers, add computers, add users, and do backups. Much easier to understand than some related products. Also the integration with 3rd party storage such as B2 is huge.

However, the user interface is slow, buggy and has far too many repeated menu items. It can sometimes take a minute or more to load the dashboard. Furthermore, backups only work some of the time, and in particular restore verification did not work at all. Finally, support was tepid and slow. In the end, we really wanted to like and use it, there were just too many issues to make it a feasible choice.

Well Looked After

Asked a question. They came back with an answer and followed up later to make sure I was totally OK and happy. I felt well looked after.

Goodbye

Used it for years no issues but this year the payment didn't work but the website would not allow re-payment. This was raised as an issue with support and I tried to pay but after calls, many emails, actually paying, they didn't get the site useable after almost 2 weeks so I've just deleted my account and will go elsewhere.
Customer support and success teams were involved but neither responded to my last email which was an ultimatum to fix it or I leave - CYA!

Product works as advertised

Product works as advertised. I use it to backup PC volumes and files both locally and to Amazon S3 Glacier. Everything works perfectly. I also test and verify restores to local Hyper-V disk volumes and spin up temporary VMs to ensure backups work. I've never had a failed restore.

Excellent Crashplan Alternative

I am currently on the 15-day trial with Cloudberry desktop backup for Windows and have been looking for a crashplan replacement with particular reference to compression, security (ransomware protection and transfer encryption protection built in) and having a choice of where to backup my data - cloud (Wasabi), NAS or USB. Cloudberry offers me more functionality than crashplan and at a very competitive price. I am using this for my small business and personal use to backup files automatically. The GUI is intuitive and user-friendly. The setup was quick and understandable.

Pros:
Choice of backup destinations.
Security (ransomware protection and transfer encryption)
Easy to set up and adjustment of configuration.
User friendly GUI with great navigation.
Competitive pricing and great support.

Cons
Mobile phone App to view and download your backup files.
Emailed backup report to be more detailed.

This solution didn’t work for me

This solution didn’t work for me, so I asked for a refund. They said no so I opened a dispute with PayPal and won. Then Andy contacts me and tells me “Filing a dispute is dishonest practice”, your business model is dishonest practice.

Really liked CloudBerry Lab

I've used Duplicati, CloudBerry, and GoodSync and in my opinion CloudBerry has performed the best out of all them. Multi threaded operations, easy guided walkthrough, relevant UI, and works great with BackBlaze B2 (my chosen cloud storage provider).

CrashPlan replacement…

Been needing a CrashPlan replacement for some time and this is the safest and most secure option out there that doesn't cost a fortune! Going with the PRO version so I can get compression and encryption (which only I will ever have/need the key for - unlike some others).

Love the features and flexibility!

Options options and more options

Been a while since I've used this, but the flexibility of the program was great - including the ability to back up to my own S3 devices.

It simply works, and with the number of different providers, there are not many use cases where this won't just work.

With changes in the organization, I'm planning on expanding the use to a number of different platforms once again.

Liked product but not customer service

Liked the products but put off purchasing licenses by rude pre-sales staff. If pre-sales is like this, makes me wonder what support is like afterwards?

Also they make it seem like they are doing me a favour by allowing me to buy their products? Not impressed!

Decided not to purchase and ended up getting alternative products from people that actually value customers. Also no good for multi-cloud as need more that one version of the product.

Flexible and Just Works

The program has a lot of options for backup destinations and when/how to backup. I needed to get some important files on Amazon Glacier and it worked seamlessly. I like the status reports and options for controlling backup and bandwidth to run when the machines are idle.
