Worst experience I’ve ever had.

Worst experience I’ve ever had.

It started with the poor attitude of one of the waitresses and only got worse from there. The tables were so sticky that I had to leave the menu on the table just to stop my arm from sticking to it. I mentioned this to a couple of waitresses, but they simply didn’t seem to care.

We were told to order using a QR code, but there was no option to add notes or special requests. I didn’t want onions in my salad, so I spoke to a waitress, who checked and told me everything was pre-made. She said they could try to remove the onions, but I decided to change my order to a wrap instead and specifically asked for no onions. When my food arrived, it still contained onions—and to make matters even worse, there was a large hair in it. Absolutely disgusting.

It was obvious that all the food was pre-made and simply reheated. My meal included hot cucumbers, hot olives, and hot tomatoes, which was very unappetising.

Since payment is taken through the QR code before the food is even served, they already had my money. Despite changing my order to a cheaper item, they never offered a refund for the price difference.

At the end of the meal, a waitress asked how everything was. I showed her the hair in my food and mentioned the onions, but all I got was a quick “sorry” before she walked away. No attempt to resolve the issue, no compensation, and not even an apology from the manager.

To top it all off, they added a 5% service charge. Charging for service after an experience like this is unbelievable.

Overall, it was a horrible experience, and I will never return.

The only positive thing I can say about this place is its riverside location.

As a Lebanese person I can tell you this is not Lebanese food. I ordered the mixed grill at Manchester, too much spices, couldn’t even eat the kofta as it was so fatty and not Lebanese at all. The taboule does not taste like anything!
Nice decoration and good service, but the food disappointing and expensive!

Pretty decor, amazing food, super service

So inviting from the outside, such pretty decorations adorn this restaurant. I would actually say this is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Beautiful Lebanese white wines, salads filled with flavour and colour, the prices are also extremely good for the portion size, which is huge. Will definitely be coming back.

The worst customer service experience EVER!

This review is for the Comptoir Libanais restaurant located around Gate B in Terminal 1 of Malpensa Intl Airport Italy.

I regret to share that my recent visit to Comptoir Libanais at Malpensa Airport was deeply unsatisfactory, overshadowing what had been an otherwise wonderful trip to Milan.

The QR code ordering system malfunctioned multiple times, displaying incorrect and significantly inflated totals (€109 and €235 instead of €43). When I requested assistance, staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and at times openly confrontational. One employee went so far as to accuse me of ordering for another table without allowing me to explain the issue.

Matters escalated when, after refusing to pay a service charge due to the unacceptable service, a staff member became aggressive, demanded our passports, and threatened to involve the police. This caused unnecessary distress to my daughter and left us feeling shaken.

While the food was ok (nothing special), the hostile and unprofessional conduct of staff was entirely unacceptable. I strongly urge management to address these concerns immediately. I will never visit this restaurant again!

Exeter restaurant is fantastic! …

I visited the Exeter restaurant with two friends for lunch.
The food was delicious. We had the Meze platter and some spiced roasted potatoes and it was all fantastic.
Service was really prompt and our waitress, Cat, was the kindest, funniest person and a real asset to the restaurant. We will be back again.

Good food and service

My partner and I had a light lunch at the Exhibition Road restaurant
The staff were very attentive and polite with smiles all round
The food portions were small but aren’t all portions these days? However it was delicious as was my Beirut beer which I would definitely have again, light and full of flavour and so refreshing on an incredibly hot day
We would certainly dine here again

Told not to pump by “offended” manager!!

I had a really upsetting experience at Comptoir Libanais (Stansted branch) yesterday. I had left my baby for the first time and after a very busy day I sat down for a meal and began to assemble my breast pump. I was about to attach it when the manager (Florin) appeared over my shoulder and told me that “this was not the place for that!” He continued “that is why we have family rooms” [in the airport]. I was so taken aback but I managed to say something along the lines of I am allowed to do this in public, to which he responded that he personally didn’t want to see it-it was not the place and would put the other diners off their food! I felt so humiliated and angry. As a breastfeeding mom, I have never encountered this treatment before. I am incredibly disappointed. I left the restaurant and cried.

Breastfeeding is a beautiful, natural gift that I am blessed to give to my children. I should not be made to feel like I am doing something indecent! It is my prerogative whether I would like to use the family room or not. That’s my choice, not Florin’s.

What happened here is illegal. Do better!

Nice place for family and friends

This is a must go whenever my friends and family visit me. Awa is one of the chefs there. Her presence, her vibe, her big smile, her positivity, and her savoir-faire are only a few on the list that I could feel and taste at the restaurant.
I went to three of them (Sloane Square, London Bridge, and Gloucester Road) in London. They are all beautifully decorated, with a warm and colourful atmosphere, very nice and friendly service, a good variety on the menu (for kids too) and the price is affordable. The dishes are well presented, tasty, and colourful but I will admit that the cocktails are weak.
