Absolutely stunning property in St Ives with luxury furnishings making it a super comfortable stay. The apartment catered for everything you needed for a well equipped stay. The view over Porthminster beach was breathtaking, waking up to the sunrise over the sea was idyllic and being a 5 minute walk to get to. Not far to walk before you hit your first coffee shop, all restaurants and shops close by. Plenty of scenic walks locally.

Absolutely the worst run holiday management firm ever which a lot of reviews seem to reflect..
Having stayed in numerous properties with other agents all over Cornwall before with zero issues I cannot say the same about Cornish Gems.
Recently we booked mill cottage with Cornish Gems and initial communication wasn’t great.
Happy to take your money and drop an initial email and after that just a code for the door but If you want to know where the key safe is you’ll have to log into there page and sign in which is pretty much the same for everything. It isn’t easy when there is absolutely no reception on any network at this property and you’re locked outside.
Upon arrival the property looked nice but tired and as soon as we walked through the door the lack of cleanliness’s became apparent.
It had obviously had a quick scoot round prior to us arriving but they had missed the bin which the previous occupants had left full of unbagged dirty nappies stinking the place out.
Grease smears all over the side and food debris in and around cutting slate with dog hairs all over the settee.
The chemical kerosene smell coming from the boiler that’s never off (probably due to the front door issue) is overpowering and stinks the kitchen out constantly..
Front door letterbox was stuck open leaving you having to constantly heat the front room as your in a windy cove next to the sea.
Upon laying down the bedding was left damp and the pillow stank. Upon opening the case it looked like a tramp had been sleeping on it for the last ten years! Heavily stained brown with all hairs hanging out and on the other side an old slit open £5 Asda pillow.
(I can assume previous occupants has left their own and stolen the luxury ones that were present everywhere else.)
Perhaps the worst & most dangerous factor was the iron plug that gives electric shocks due to a damaged plug exposing the live metal pins when pulled out..
We ended up leaving a day early with the property in a cleaner better condition then when we arrived..
(We still haven’t received the good housekeeping deposit)..
We informed Cornish gems of all the issues who quite simply didn’t want to know apparently safety is not there primary concern..
They claim they approached the cleaning team who obviously deny everything “as they would” and the property owner who is total denial & only interested in how much money they can get out of the property even though evidence was provided which proves otherwise.
Cornish gems who only have an emergency number for weekends as nobody’s working suggest it’s your fault for not ringing an emergency number to inform them which your hardly going to do for cleanliness issues so that excuse really doesn’t cut it!!
Whilst it is true that you cannot “please all the people all of time” and a lot would complain for a dish being dirty this is not one of those occasions. I’m not bothered about having to clean the place and would of even done a few of the jobs if I’d of had my tools but it’s the blatant disregard
Cornish gems have for there customers and there safety and people need to know.
If the customer service guy dealing with this had escalated it to management and assurances had been put in place that the dangerous appliances would be rectified and home owners spoke to the cleaners along with replacing and fixing a couple of cheap bits not amounting to over £100ish it would have been enough..
As above Cornish Holidays really need to start dealing with matters instead of aggravating them further and CS really need educating to recognise a serious complaint and raise it with management to have them take it up with you and the homeowner..
Holiday spoilt, a nice electric shock and home a day early and instead of rectifying or risk losing a property owner Cornish gems will call you a liar then offer you 10% of the next wreck if you wish to blow another 3k plus with them!
Matter now taken up with bank who will deal with it.
My family booked for a weeks family holiday May bank holiday 2026 with Cornish Gems at Admiral House Fowey
We were a party of 16 with two dogs This was booked in July 2025 with a deposit paid. Five days before we were due to depart they informed us that the property did not except dogs All are searches on their site included enough room for 16 people and 2 dogs
At the time all the adults in the party checked it was suitable
Sometime in between July 2025 and May 2026 the owner if the property changed their mind re excepting dogs Which is within their rights However Cornish Gems should have notified us of the change of policy so we had time to rebook somewhere else
They gave us a full refund and we were able to find alternative accommodation but at a lot of stress I think perhaps they realised their mistake and that is why we got a full refund They did contact the owners and one party agreed we could go but the other said no

Unprofessional - terrible experience, We had booked accommodation to stay at Admiral House Fowey almost a year before the due holiday date. We had booked for two dogs and 16 people only for Cornish Gems to cancel with five days notice, trying to get any communication with the owners was frustrating and took days, with one owner agreeing we could stay and the other partner refusing.
In the end we did get a full refund with one day to pay and book alternative accomodation.
Cornish Gems stated that Admiral house was not dog friendly and had never been even though the web-site DID advertise it as excepting two dogs, Cornish gems sent booking forms for costs for two dogs but later stated that it was just generic mailing.
Unacceptable work ethics.

We rebooked an apartment almost immediately upon return from our stay there in June last year.
Again it was for early June and four Guests.
Cornish Gems called and cancelled less than two weeks before our stay.
No suitable alternative accommodation was offered.
We got our money back but we lost our early planned and much needed holiday.
We had to cancel numerous restaurant reservations.
So late in the day we have been unable to find anything else.
Dreadful

We have stayed at the Dairy in St. Anthony. The views are unparalleled. It is quiet, serene and peaceful and relaxing.
There are fabulous walks and beaches. We have done a different walk every day.
The Dairy itself is exceptionally well equipped and very comfortable. There is everything one might need. The patio area is lovely to sit on and eating outside looking at the view is an absolute pleasure.
The Dairy's proprietors could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Thank you.

Seaclusion was an absolutely first class 'barn style ' conversion. The space , OMG , there is so much of it, was amazing and finished to a very high standard. It all felt very top of the range and justified the rental fee. The owner was great and Poppy the friendly dog an added bonus.
We love West Cornwall , loved Seclusion and will be booking again. Top marks to Cornish Gems.

We recently stayed at Gwyndreth with Cornish Gems and, while the property has some positives, overall we were disappointed, especially given the premium price and expectations set by the listing.
The main issue was the garden fence. The property is advertised as dog friendly, but the fencing at the back is in such poor condition that it’s effectively open. Our dog and young child could have escaped easily, meaning we were never able to relax. Instead, we had to supervise constantly or keep the dog on a lead, not what we anticipated from a supposedly pet-friendly home.
Another issue was a sewage odor that developed in the living room near the TV. The smell fluctuated, at times it was overwhelming and made spending time indoors quite unpleasent.
We also found the location less practical than expected. The beach directly below the property disappears completely at high tide, unlike others nearby. Had we known this in advance, we would have chosen somewhere else more practical.
Other issues included:
• Showers that can’t be used simultaneously without one cutting out – not ideal for a six-person house.
• Poor signage when trying to find the property.
• Only half of the toaster working, and an oven that barely functions.
On the positive side, we did appreciate the layout of the house, the lovely views, and the beach itself when accessible. The bedrooms and bathrooms were nicely presented, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the outdoor shower was a thoughtful touch for sandy feet and paws.
That said, the misleading impression of a dog-friendly garden, the maintenance problems, and the unpleasant sewage smell meant our stay didn’t meet expectations. For the cost, we expected a much higher standard. We previously stayed at Heatherleigh, which was excellent and gave us confidence to book again with Cornish Gems. Unfortunately, after Gwyndreth, we feel let down and are likely to look elsewhere in future.

Lovely property, well decorated, in great grounds with a well-equipped kitchen and welcome pack. Quiet location, well connected by road for nearby locations.
The Cob Barn is very close to a neighbouring holiday let - during our visit it was not let, but if this was occupied the property may feel more overlooked.
I booked on the basis of an EV charger being available which was not functional at this property. I was able to use a charger at one of their neighbouring properties - only 1 out of 4 chargers on the estate was functioning during my stay. Cornish Barns don’t provide the charging cost upfront - during my stay the charge was £0.64 kWh for a slow charger making this more expensive than nearby public chargers.

What a beautiful location. The view of the beach was amazing. Accommodation was absolutely top notch, all the mod cons and more. Would definitely stay here again without a shadow of doubt. The Treguth pub around the corner is a gem. The only minor criticism we have was that we couldn't find a shavers plug for electric toothbrushes, but in the grand scheme of things, a minor issue. Could do with a bbq in the backyard. Cornish Gems really helpful

We stayed at The Dairy near Portscatho. Accommodation was excellent with everything we needed. Beautiful views and a short walk to local pubs. Recommend walking to Towan Beach which is lovely.
Will stay here again!

Stayed in 'The Diary' near Portscatho, booked via Cornish Gems. We opted to use the food box service advertised by Cornish Gems, this was a big mistake. The box was not at the property when we arrived, although the delivery courier had recorded the box delivered and signed for by me. Cornish Gems were less than helpful in resolving the problem. We eventually found that it had been delivered to a nearby property, opened and partially used. No apology from C.G. and the food was of mediocre quality.

We've just arrived back from our week long stay at Gwynndreth, Gwithian, Hayle. Our experience from start to finish was just amazing and exactly what we needed. The house and views were just breathtaking, we really felt like we were somewhere completely on our own. Cornish gems kept us updated throughout and responded straight away when we had any queries. They were extremely helpful when helping us look for a dog sitter too and recommended some brilliant places. Just a big thank you to everyone for helping us make some beautiful lasting memories.

A beautiful house in Newquay, the beach barn is a high spec house with the best appliances, bed linen, towels etc, all 4 bedrooms are en-suite with tv in all rooms, a nice garden for the dogs, garden furniture, hot-tub and Egg barbecue, unfortunately for the duration of our 7 day stay we had no internet, the phone signal was also really poor, so if you wanted to use your data and look something up it was virtually impossible, and you had to drive out to make a call ! in this day and age being without the internet for 7 days is a big thing and unacceptable, the only blessing is that we didn’t have children or young adults with us, because i fear the holiday would have been ruined. It appeared to be a property issue not an issue in the area as i spoke to the neighbours, booking a holiday with Cornish gems is not cheap and with that comes expectations, If asked I or one of my party would gladly of stayed in to accommodate an engineer if it meant getting things up and running. Although Cornish gems offered an apology each time i followed up on any progress. A nice property let down by poor tech.

Just returned from our ninth visit to a Cornish Gems property in the Roseland, the Dairy at Gerrans.
Communication with Cornish Gems was excellent and the property was well-prepared for our arrival. The cottage is in a beautiful location yet only a short walk from an excellent general store and pubs and restaurants.

The property ‘Sunset’ in Porthtowan, had a very old boiler which broke half way through the stay. We were without hot water for 24 hours and no heating for 3 days. The property smelled awful, a stale urine smell coming from the utility room, possibly unclean children’s potties. Shame because it’s a lovely house. 3 tradesmen quickly attempted to sort the boiler but that was disruptive to the holiday and they couldn’t fix it. We have been offered an insulting amount of compensation.
