2 stars max

I'm only giving them 2 stars as I don't have another company to compare to. We only use them as they were the company providing the service to the shop we took over (apparently now taken over by "Spy Security"). Since then (4 years ago), we have had several issues, too many worth wasting my time mentioning and been constantly disappointed. The service is bad and the prices are high. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Crown Security Shambles

Some years ago there was a local, friendly, family run security business called Church Street Security - great people who’ve done us a wonderful service. But, they were bought up by a big city corporate .com firm in London, called 'Crown Security Systems'.
When Crown took over, out came the iPads and the fancy phones, all linking the days jobs with the Head Office and the Accounts Dept. You just knew this was recipe for incompetance and sure enough I was regularly double charged and invoiced, which funnily enough despite all this electronic gadgetry, would be sent by paper in the post! It's just typical of a big city corporate firm trying to run a national network of services by remote control. Eventually Crown caught up with the 21st century and invoiced via email and took payements by BACS, however the staff running the accounts were still operating in the dark ages.
Early 2019, the boss of Crown retired, and sold out to Spy Alarms Ltd, yet another centralised security firm, franchising out to smaller firms to create a national network.
The final straw broke when I booked an engineer for my annual home check-up which evidently required a new console battery. As I've always done in the past, I asked for the battery to be charged and merged with the annual invoice - common sense to the engineer, and to the SpyAlarm Accounts Dept and to myself, but not to Crown’s Accounts Dept. They wanted both items to be invoiced and paid separately - same firm, same bank details, for the same contract.
I received the pdf invoice for the battery, and I requested x3 for the pdf annual invoice. Out of spite, Crown sent me an xps file, and claimed say that’s how all the invoices are sent, despite that fact that they'd sent me a pdf invoice just hours before. I’m quite happy to pay my dues, but I can’t if staff simply refuse to send the appropriate invoices. Later, a woman from the Crown Accounts Dept then picked up the phone and ranted down the line calling me all sorts of names which concluded absolutely nothing, upon which I invited and challenged her to take her issue to the MD or CEO, but going by Companies House, I see five out of the seven Directors have resigned anyway!!! So its a bit of a rudderless ship really. As for the new parent company Spy Alarms headed by Darren Green, I just hope they know what they've bought themselves into? I did eventually get that invited call from the MD, Darren Green himself - nice guy and appears to care. Despite having paid this years contract, he did offer me a 10% discount for next year to keep my custom - I shall wait to see if that happens. However, just in case I have been canvassing other local firms for the contract.
