Had loft insulation installed today on an ECO4 grant due a medical issue I have. The guys who did this were absolutely fantastic, everything was explained to me before work was commenced, nothing was too much trouble for them, they left no mess and were genuinely really nice guys.
Thank you Adam Picton & Nicky Thomas for your fantastic work 👏

Do not use this contractor!

I'd advise, not to use this company (both Eco/emergency schemes, and general members of the public especially)...rarely can get through via all of their communication lines, customer service is poor and unprofessional, reporting lines for formal complaints are mixed and unclear (and also do not get dealt with), staffs conduct is unprofessional and deems upsetting beyond belief (particularly Dan who is the customer experience manager and Kaya who is apart of the administration team), they do not send engineers out to rectify issues after works (buy only once as a gesture of good will which makes no sense as there were issues after a new boiler install).

Neal Jones came out to replace my boiler. The service I received from him was nothing short of outstanding. Extremely pleased with how friendly, quick and efficient he was. Couldn’t recommend Neal’s service to anyone. Excellent job.

No communication regarding EC04 grant

No communication regarding EC04 grant. Came numerous times to assess property and given impression that it would go ahead. I confirmed that we are eligible bus Warm Wales but 8 months on and now told they can't get 'right price' what ever that means. We are now in situation of old storage heaters and winter starting. Communication had been horrendous from this company.

Substandard ECO4 service

I qualified for an ECO4 grant on medical grounds .. initially the surveyor wasn't particularly observant and it took a long time for the works to start. The workmen arrived on the first day unannounced... My dad was present during the week as I work away. The first week I came home late on a Friday to find my house a mess, no dust sheets and the workmen using some of my antique furniture as sawing horses ..I complained but C&T did nothing and I had to address the issues with the workmen directly. I had internal insulation, air source heating and solar panels installed.. it took ages to get finished and afterwards no cleaning or after service just left with a house full of builders mess and dust everywhere (I'm allergic to dust so cleaning this up was not pleasant. Works finish in July but in late July I noticed a leak coming through the bedroom ceiling under the solar panels ..I notified c&T but all they said was send photos ...I did but they are denying it and noone ever came out to check issues ... I contacted them again on 1st September and the sales manager just argued on photo issue and refused to send anyone out to survey the problem ..I had to contact the subcontractor who installed the solar system directly ..in fairness the subcontractor has been helpful and they sent a roofer out to assess repairs but on 7th September after heavy rain my bedroom ceiling collapsed and water free flowed in from somewhere under the solar panels. It's a shallow pitch aluminium roof which the solar installers damaged when walking on it ... C&T did not survey it properly, they didn't supervise the works and they are refusing to repair damage so far leaving me with a roof that lets water pour in when it rains ... The service from them is far below substandard ... I've been in construction management for over 30 years and this company has the worst attitude I have ever seen in government funded works .. the staff and management don't care and I don't recommend anyone else should use them. I'm now in a position if the subcontractor can't repair the damage I'll have to address the matter legally and through the energy ombudsman ... Be careful if considering using C&T

Worcester boiler, missed out on guarantee

Installed a Worcester boiler, which normally would have a 10-12 year warranty. Because of their negligence ours does not. (Only 2 years workmanship guarantee)
What's even worse, just under 3 years after installation it starts leaking BECAUSE of a workmanship issue and they want nothing to do with it.
Big lesson: let your local gas engineer do the job! Give them the government funding. Steer well clear of this company.

Absolutely fantastic service

Absolutely fantastic service. Friendly staff, who went out of their way to help when there was a problem with my gas card. Couldn't be happier. Thank you so much. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended.

Had an old boiler replaced by C&T as there was a scheme my council was running that any household in my area regardless of income etc could get a grant. So they put me in touch with C&T as I was asking if I could get a boiler upgrade.

They came when they said they would and did a great job.

I had an issue with the boiler a few months later (not their fault) where I asked them what I needed to do, and they quickly responded to me telling me to contact the manufacturer which I did and they sent out an engineer to fix it. C&T also gave me a follow up call asking me if everything was sorted with the manufacturer which I thought was a nice touch.

Nothing bad to say about C&T at all. They came when they said they would, did a good job, tidied up after themselves, provide good after care support etc. They also registered the warranty with the boiler manufacturer to ensure I had the longest possible warranty.

Highly recommended.

C & T - Calamity & Trauma

If you are looking for a company to mislead, make false promises, eat up your time, not reply, pass the buck, make excuses and cost you in terms of calls then C & T are the ones. More chaos and confusion than is possible to catalogue. C & T - Calamity & Trauma!

Dylan does not reply to emails!

Dylan does not reply to email, hes very reactive and not proactive, leave customers and clients contact and chase him rather than be all over things and updating people, even if there's no news.
Very disappointing for the company to have such a money loser working for them.
They may make some money but imagine Dylan was all over his business, they would do so well.
Sad to watch!

AVOID AT ALL COST! Read the T's & C's and just be aware that it isn't quite as easy as it seems, and WILL cost you money!

BEWARE - READ THE T's & C's!

Because I am poor, and had no heating on all winter because I couldn't afford the £21 a day it cost to heat my room, I was eligible for help under the ECO4 Scheme - now that in itself is great, (although what I really needed was Solar PV to run my electric underfloor heating, but couldn't have that as rest of house is heated by gas!), so I now have had grant funding to give me free wall insulation, and a new boiler, to heat the part of the house that I do not live in!) Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for that, and they have put me one radiator in my room which will hopefully take the edge off during the winter if I can afford to actually run it?

Before I signed on the dotted line, I sent this paragraph via email to the company "If this is likely to end up costing me, I really cannot do it, as I am literally scraping by on the bare minimum the Government thinks it is ok to live on" & I was told it wouldn't cost me any money - which it hasn't, BUT, I am left with 'stuff', a layer of plaster dust absolutely everywhere. Being disabled & unsteady on my feet, it isn't really safe for me. I have a 30 minute care call every day, but that might give my carers 5 minutes to clear &/or clean one thing, and I will be lucky to have a clean and safe house before Christmas. I did know that there would be no decorating, (which I can't afford to have done anyway), but didn't really think about the other things.

So begins the catalogue of disasters!
I have sent a few emails now to the company, none of which have been answered - the latest thing is that it has been pointed out to me by someone else, the absolute MESS the front of my house has been left in. They have literally 'stuffed' the holes they have made with a load of dark grey concrete, & just left it - no cleaning of the brickwork surrounding the holes, it looks as though a 5 year old has done it, & one of the areas has cracked already! What will that do to my wall, let in water? The windowsill beneath was white and is now grey - not wiped up afterwards, if that is now hardened concrete?

October/November 2023

The company sent an absolute cowboy back to -
1/ Put back my curtain rails & stair rail so that I could get upstairs
2/ Insulate my loft

The cowboy put back my curtain poles & reinstated my stair rail. A few days later, the lounge pole fell out of the wall - there were NO wall plugs! THEN, the 3.5m very HEAVY wooden stair rail began to come away from the wall, again, NO WALL PLUGS! Contacted company who told me that their 'engineer' had confirmed that plugs were used but they had obviously 'sunk into the insulation'! So EVERY plug along a 4m length apparently had sunk? Plus every plug used to put up my curtain poles? He lied to his employer who in turn had lied to me. Had that rail come away when my little granddaughters were using it, then the large screws could have taken an eye, or had it landed on them, it could have resulted in a serious criminal case!

The loft - the same cowboy went in the loft which was stuffed with lots of 'stuff', including the belongings of my daughter who took her own life a year ago. He moved the whole lot over the bathroom only, so all the weight was in one place! Then strew fibre glass everywhere else. Nobody could even get in to move the contents safely, An absolute MESS! Had to pay someone to sort it out!

Another thing transpires - the 'built in cupboard that I spent a lot of money on, will no longer fit, they took it out to fit the wall insulation, but did not say that it wouldn't go back again!! I am so upset. I'm disabled, live on my own, & am now living in a dirty pigsty as my things have been moved & left. I can't sort it.

Despite asking if the washing machine was ok & connected, it seems that it isn't, more upset.

After several weeks, I've never heard the new fan in the Utility Room running - turns out it wasn't actually connected to the electricity!

I did eventually get a reasonable compensation payment from this dreadful company!

THEN, in December 2024, when I had a new gas hob fitted, Currys found that I had been left with a GAS LEAK!! For over a year! Fortunately it was outside at the meter but British Gas turned up within 2 hours to sort it - this company is DANGEROUS!!

Just be aware that it isn't quite as easy as it seems ...
