I bought zoo tickets on Friday evening for a Sunday visit, but they didn't arrive until Monday. Instead, on Friday, I only received a referral link and a receipt. I contacted support, but no one replied. The zoo knew nothing about the link or the company itself and required a ticket with a barcode. I did manage to get into the zoo, but it was essentially on the honor system.

Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. Anything available was way too far to travel and any discounts were available without the actual membership via other sources. I cancelled subscription almost right away but money continues to be taken from me despite me never using or having cancelled. I tried to contact providers as soon as I realised a further payment had been taken and they refuse to rectify this but choose to basically hold me to ransom. Very poor customer service and no value for money.

Be careful with your direct debit with them
They automatically renewed my subscription without any heads-up or reminder email. I caught the charge within 24 hours and reached out politely to let them know I don’t use the service and want to cancel. They replied saying they are keeping my money but won't charge me next time. Unbelievable. Keeping money for an unused service that was canceled instantly is a disgraceful business practice. Avoid giving them your card details at all costs! Pay vip trial for £1 didn't use anything, no reminder and deduct £4.99 and refuse to return unbelievable!!

Our VIP Pass is a monthly automatically renewing subscription, and the renewal terms are shown when the membership is signed up for. Under our current cancellation and refund policy, customers can cancel and request a refund within the first 14 days of their original membership sign-up (the cooling-off period). This 14-day period does not restart each time the membership renews.
If a membership remains active beyond this period and a scheduled renewal is processed, cancelling the membership will stop any future renewals, but the renewal that has already been processed is not automatically refundable. This is because the membership was still active when the payment was taken.
We appreciate that this may not have been what you expected, and we’re sorry for any frustration caused. We’ll continue to make the membership, cancellation and renewal terms as clear as possible for our customers.

I will now upgrade the 0 star I wanted to leave to the 1 star you deserve. You only offered the refund after I made the review. When I asked before you sent a very insulting AI email refusing the refund and staying it was your final response. Any respectable business will refund right away when an unwanted renewal is taken. You were just hoping I would take it without complaining but that was not the case and you were forced to return it. If we see people complaining about the same thing again then we all know you haven’t actually changed.

Inflexible, unresponsive, costly and illegal!
Do not be fooled by the apparent high rating of dayoutwiththekids.co.uk.
I purchased tickets to go to Hampton Court but, unfortunately, I was admitted to hospital several days before. I was thus unable to use the tickets.
I searched for a phone number for dayoutwiththekids.co.uk but did not find one, so I emailed the address as per their email.
In the meantime, I called Hampton Court and they advised that IF I had booked the tickets directly with them, they would have gladly changed them.
I emailed dayoutwiththekids.co.uk on the 17th July, and did not get a response.
I contacted them again as a result of their answer below, but I never got a refund or an option to rebook.
So, in my case, I would have been considerably better off if I had booked directly!
NEVER AGAIN!
FYI, they are also in breach of UK law as the unsubscribe link in their promotional emails does not work.

I would avoid this membership.
I signed up for the free trial but personally found the website offered very few deals that were of any real value to my family. In my opinion, it simply wasn’t worth paying for.
The biggest issue was trying to cancel. I found the website difficult to navigate and couldn’t find a straightforward way to cancel my membership. Instead, I selected the Pause Membership option, believing this would stop any future payments. After 90 days, however, the membership automatically reactivated and I was charged again.
When I contacted customer services, they refused to offer any goodwill refund despite me explaining that I hadn’t intended to continue the subscription and hadn’t been using the service.
I’ve now managed to stop any future payments by cancelling the membership and also blocking further charges through my Revolut card.
Based on my experience, I would recommend that parents and families think carefully before signing up. If you do decide to take the free trial, make absolutely sure your membership is fully cancelled rather than paused, otherwise it may automatically reactivate and you’ll be charged again.

Awful scam of a company avoid
Awful scam of a company avoid. Joined a free trial. Cancelled on the day of renewal on the website, did try to cancel earlier but web chat function was frozen and no number to call. When I emailed them to say my subscription had been renewed, they said I cancelled it 5 mins too late even though it was well before the next day so they would continue to try and collect the money for an annual subscription. There's was no understanding or any customer service skills. I have reported them as they are taking advantage of customers. Avoid at all costs
