Disgusting customer service and quality control and after care at Dunnes Tralee
I purchased Carolyn Donnelly pyjamas as a birthday gift from Dunnes Stores Tralee and discovered a security tag had been left attached at the time of sale. This caused an unnecessary return trip to the store on the same day I was travelling, back to UK, which was very inconvenient.
When I returned to Dunnes Stores Tralee customer service to have the security tag removed, the issue was handled poorly and I did not receive an apology at the time.
In a separate purchase, I bought a birthday card which was damaged when removing the price label, making it unusable. This raises concerns about product handling and labelling standards.
I contacted Dunnes Stores customer service afterwards ( providing proof of purchase and photographs). While I received a response, no goodwill gesture or compensation was offered despite the inconvenience caused and the fact that both purchases were affected.
Overall experience: poor quality control, unhelpful in-store customer service, and unsatisfactory complaint resolution process.
Have escalated to Head Office as a matter of principal!
If could give minus would!
Paul Costello shirt
I purchased a Paul Costello shirt today in Foyleside Derry , the lady who served me had zero customer service. I placed the shirt on the counter, the lady folded it up in a second and placed it on the counter and 40 pound. I said could I have a bag she stuffed the shirt into a paper bag and said 40 pound 25 . No please or thank you , I said do I pay for a paper bag she replied NOT MY PROBLEM ITSTHE GOVERNMENT. I returned to store a few moments later to get a better bag as it was Paul Costello . I felt the lady was rude dismissive and took zero with designer clothes such as Paul Costello . I like Paul Costello clothes and I think he should remove the contract from Dunnes Stores as they are not trained to sell his garments. I hope to email Paul Costello about this issue.
Used to shop regularly in Dunnes Stores…
Used to shop regularly in Dunnes Stores and spend around £150 a week there, but after today we won’t be back. A member of staff was extremely rude to my son for lightly bouncing a ball he was about to buy. Completely unnecessary attitude and handled in a really unpleasant way. There’s a difference between asking politely and speaking to customers like they’re a problem. Very disappointing experience, especially from a store we’ve supported for years. Customer service costs nothing.
I love shopping at Dunnes Stores
I love shopping at Dunnes Stores. The €5 and €10 vouchers are a great reward for loyal customers and really help with savings. Good quality products and great value every time!

Dunnes hot food and deli disaster !!
I go every day at lunch to the hot food counter , I have never seen a more disorganized counter in my life , people jump the que the servers see this and continue to let it happen , a man came from behind me today while I was waiting for service as I was next in the que , and the girl instead of telling him to wait she served him 5 pizzas ....there should be someone on hot food someone on pizzas someone on deli someone on fish ..... When u have 1 hour for lunch and u stand in a que fir 10 min then get passed over for someone that was rude enough to jump the que , and the staff serve him well that is just wrong , this happens every day ...today I went without food. Get your staff in order Dunnes Stores !!

Karl in Briarhill was exceptionally helpful, friendly and a pleasure to deal with today in Dunnes. More like Karl, please.
I bought a Nevin Maguire frying pan
I bought a Nevin Maguire frying pan. the nonstick surface blistered. There's a 20 year guarantee but they wouldn't honour it. They responded with an AI generated explanation blaming me. I have been cooking for nearly 50 years and never had a frying pan do this. I have found the product was made in China and has no design association with Neven Maguire except for the laser etching on the base. Utter scam and the worst customer service.

I brought swimsuit and fleeze coat in Dunnes Stores two weeks ago. I find poor quality material and swimsuit too tight small. I brought fleeze coat and swimsuit in Tesco last year and had best real quality material. I wonder anyone feel same ??? So I am giving Dunnes stores one star but I rather to give zero star for Dunnes stores
Nothing about dunnes stores itself but…
Nothing about dunnes stores itself but I recently purchased there southern fried chicken wings and no no no please stay at all cost. Firstly it's not southern fried its more bread crumbs and bad at that. The wings itself has some sort of horrible slimy coating around them. They went into the bin.
Carlow click and collect
I never leave reviews but this was really annoying - second bad experience at click and collect Carlow, scheduled my collection for 5.30 and was waiting 50 minutes last Friday for the shopping to be brought out. Had my 2 year old in the car which is a why I opt for collection, it would have been easier go in and do it myself . Kilkenny is much quicker and efficient.

Visited this store on 7 April and had a very unpleasant experience.
A staff member named Garry was rude and unprofessional during my visit. This happened in front of other customers, and several people nearby also commented on his behaviour at the time.
What is more disappointing is how the complaint has been handled since then. I contacted customer service, but after nearly two weeks, I have only received a generic response with no clear explanation, no outcome, and no accountability.
It feels like the issue is not being taken seriously at all.
I would expect better customer service standards and a more responsible approach to handling complaints.
Very disappointing experience overall.
Dunnes Stores Gorey- Not for the faint hearted
The young staff have no natural manners and are so badly trained in both how to use the tills scanning etc and don't know they are meant to say Hello or thank you. Never mind being helpful. Pack a bag - "what's that?". I think it's the Managers who need a refresher course in how to run a business. All in all it's a stressful experience.
Ellen in ladieswear at Dunnes Stores Beacon Court
Please note, this review is in relation to Dunnes Stores in the Beacon Court, Sandyford. I was in this store yesterday at around midday and I spoke with a lady by the name of Ellen who had just started her shift. Ellen was in the ladies clothes section. I had a query about a pair of jeans. I cannot thank Ellen enough for her professionality, her patience in assisting me and overall concern in getting my query dealt with. Ellen was a joy to deal with. She is to be commended and if possible, could you pass this on to her manager at Dunnes Stores Beacon Court - Ellen should be recognised for all that she does for Dunnes Stores.

DUNNES STORES KNOCKNACARRA, GALWAY. They grabbed my bag without asking – and won't admit that's wrong
A staff member took my own folded, empty bag from the self-checkout without permission. Dunnes apologised for "embarrassment" but refused to agree that touching a customer's property without consent is unacceptable. No goodwill gesture.
During COVID, another staff member shouted at me and other customers for no reason. No apology then either.
Employee reviews on Indeed call this store a "blame culture" with "bullying managers." That says it all.
Robbers
Last Monday 06/04/26 in your store in Leopardstown, your 110g of Dairy Milk bars were €2. This Sunday 12/04/26 the same bar was €3.50.
Will you please explain to me why the price increased €1.50 in 1 week?
Bought a pair of wide leg jeans in…
Bought a pair of wide leg jeans in Waterford Dunnes Stores that were way too long not labelled at long fit. I am a 5ft 6 woman and these jeans were made for someone over 6ft. I went to return them with the receipt but was refused as tags were not on the jeans. So I told them to keep them as they were not wearable for me. A complete waste of 25 euro. Usually Dunnes Jeans are very reliable but not this time.
Disrespectful customer service.
The assistant at the checkout started a full scale argument with my wife because she didn’t want to use her app. The assistant was rude and offensive. We will never shop there again.
Bad customer service
I'm a long term customer at Dunnes and often spend €200 or more on my weekly shop. I had an issue with the app one night and askd the manager for assistance. She was helful and gave me the contact of the custimer service team (Taylor - Customer Care). I sent her my receipst and asked for the unused and valid vouchers to be redeeemed as the app wasnt working. The request was refused and, although I have been a loyal customer, I will now shop at my local Lidl or Tesco. Very dissapointing customer service.
