I have just switched my account to Ecotricity which has proved to be a very good decision, the phone operator Lauren was extremely helpful giving all the details clearly with patience and kindness.I can recommend the company to anybody and of course they are trying to help the world with policy of renewable energy.
As my contract with Fuse Energy was coming to an end, I used the Uswitch app to compare the available tariffs to me. I’d been very happy with Fuse — they were a great provider but Ecotricity offered a more competitive deal that they couldn’t match.
I was particularly drawn to the two-year fixed tariff. With the price cap set to increase in October and the forecasts I’d seen suggesting another sizeable rise could follow in January 2027, I liked the idea of locking in a competitive rate now rather than having to worry about where prices might go over the next couple of years. For me, the certainty of a fixed price made the decision much easier.
The switch through Uswitch was straightforward, with the changeover handled for me without the need to contact either supplier directly.
The combination of competitive pricing, a 24-month fix and Ecotricity’s focus on renewable energy made it an easy decision. And more importantly, I wasn’t leaving Fuse because of poor service of any type - quite the opposite. They had been excellent; but Ecotricity simply offered better value for me at this time.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the move. It was a good deal for me, and I’m happy to have secured a competitive fixed rate with a renewable-focused supplier for the next two years.
Very good customer service, helpful and explaining everything clearly. Excellent 👍
Helpful and friendly representative. She was easy to understand and went through everything clearly. So far so good.

Sam was outstanding. My switch to Ecotricity was not easy becuase of issues I had with my current supplier, however Sam walked me through the process so the issue could be sortred quickly and she was just brilliant when it came to explaining the process.

Switched to them and now just deal with continuous emails about them needing a reading from my meter. I have a smart meter and at first they didn't know the serial number, then couldn't communicate with it, then said it was sorted but constantly email asking for a new reading. Completely defeats the point of a smart meter and I wouldn't have switched to them if I'd known this.

I have an export tariff with them and just received the first payment. Everything works as expected. Very happy to get extra cash.

So far so good. Have just switched to Ecotricity and the rates are a lot cheaper than the standard deal I was on which has been good up to now but sadly the October hike was too much for me. I’m on a 2 year deal and the exit fee is £100 which is quite hefty but I’m happy enough with the rates I’ve been given and very much doubt that I’ll regret it. They (Liyarna) were very helpful on the phone. They are a small company but so was my last one and that was fine. The direct debit is quite a bit less than I was paying as well so that will be helpful. I had amassed a large credit balance with my previous supplier so I think I was being overcharged. So everything to play for.

We are new to Ecotricity and have been impressed thus far by customer service. Kevin was the first person at Ecotricity we talked to over the phone and he was very helpful; he followed up with an e-mail. Thank you, Kevin.
Lauren phoned us yesterday to help with the third switch and we went over our concerns with her and then talked through the 3 properties we are responsible for - all now with Ecotricity, confirming the new tarriffs. Lauren was extremely patient, gave us as much time as we wanted and was extremely helpful. She listened very carefully to what we had to tell her and answered all our questions. She then ensured we were set up online and followed up with an e-mail - a great introduction to a new Electricity supplier! We feel safe in your hands.Thank you very much, Lauren. definitely 5 stars! Excellent work!

Went with a switch via USwitch, but when the tariff info came through it didn't match what was being advertised.
Tried calling but so far I've been on hold for 1 hr and 8 minutes and still no answer.
Shocking service.

I was going to switch to ecotricity due to a slightly better fixed tariff - which I found Uswitch. After reading reviews that the company does a ‘hard check’ on your credit, I since then checked my credit score and this has been affected by this.
I recommend reading the contract as well, which seems to have ‘larger penalties’. I deiced to stay with Fuse, sorted a fix tariff and they have been good.

I switched a couple of weeks ago. Terrible communication and customer service. I barely know where to start. 25 minutes trying to get through on the phone today. They need to look at the grammar on their announcements. It should be “quickly” not “quick”. (I’ve listened to it often enough to get really annoyed).
That’s the least of the problem. Incredibly EDF provided excellent service when I left, even refunding my credit balance without being asked.
It’s virtually impossible to speak to someone at Ecotricity. I am getting an electric car next week and I can’t find anything on their website to get a tariff. Yet if I google Ecotricity EV tariffs it links to the site but no obvious way to the tariff.

We used uswitch to try and secure a better rate for our electricity. Previously we were with octopus, who were great and always gave good customer service. However, we went with the slightly better rate and agreed to the new tariff. I then received emails from exotricity confirming the switch but the tariff costs were incorrect as well as some other info like my name. I tried to call them but ended up in an endless cycle of automated long-winded messages and options to press this number and that number. Eventually I gave up and emailed them, receiving an auto reply that it would take 5 days for a response- by which time the switch would have happened. I called octopus, got straight through to a human and put a stop to the switch and sorted out a new tariff with them. Sometimes, it’s best to pay a slight bit more but get better help, accurate service and not be misled on your tariff.

Tried to switch to Ecotricity using MSE Cheap Energy Club. Silence for 2 weeks. Spent an absolute age trying to get hold of them to be told "contact your existing supplier" - which I knew was rubbish but they wouldn't help in any other way. Contacted my current supplier (OVO) who were really helpful and said there was no reason they would reject the switch but they hadn't received a request
Spent another hour trying to get hold of Ecotricity before giving up and letting them know via email to cancel the switch.
Hoping I've dodged a bullet there as the customer service is absolutely woeful. Don't be drawn in by "slightly" cheaper pricing . . . .

Switched online and they emailed me asking to call. 45 minutes on hold and they tell me the system is down. Call again and I’m still on hold after 10 minutes. Very poor customer service so far

1 star – An astonishingly poor level of customer service
I have spent months trying to get Ecotricity to resolve what should be a very straightforward billing issue.
Despite being provided with tenancy information directly from my letting agent, Ecotricity continued billing me for a period when I was no longer responsible for the property. I have made payments which still do not appear to have been properly accounted for, received conflicting correspondence and been pursued for an outstanding balance that I dispute.
Most frustratingly, Ecotricity has now confirmed in writing the dates for which I was responsible, yet they still seem unable to reconcile the account correctly.
I have repeatedly provided information, explained the situation and tried to resolve this reasonably. Instead, I have spent an extraordinary amount of time dealing with something that should have required one competent person to look at the account from beginning to end and correct it.
I have now made a final formal complaint and will refer the matter to the Energy Ombudsman if Ecotricity cannot resolve it.
The issue isn't just an incorrect bill – mistakes happen. It is the apparent inability to take ownership of those mistakes and put them right.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Ecotricity. One star.
