Worst customer experience I have ever had

This has been one of the worst online shopping experiences I have ever had.

I ordered a pair of Persol sunglasses from Edel-Optics, expecting a normal purchase. Instead, I ended up spending weeks chasing them just to receive the correct product in new, undamaged condition.

First, they sent me the wrong item. This was not a small mix-up or a misunderstanding: the parcel contained another customer’s order details, so it was obvious that Edel-Optics had made a fulfilment mistake. I provided photos and clear evidence, but instead of correcting their own error immediately, they made me wait until the wrong item was returned and processed.

After that, they finally sent a replacement. The replacement sunglasses arrived scratched/scuffed. They were inside the original hard protective case, so it is very hard to believe this happened during delivery. After already sending me the wrong product once, you would expect them to at least check the replacement properly before shipping it. Apparently, even that was too much to ask.

Then the same cycle started again: report the issue, send photos, return the item, wait again. Their process seems designed to make the customer absorb every delay caused by Edel-Optics’ own mistakes.

The communication has also been poor and inconsistent. At one point, they told me the sunglasses were in stock and that things should move quickly once the return was received. Then a new replacement order appeared with a planned dispatch date weeks later. So after all of their mistakes, the entire process may stretch to around one and a half months from the original order.

For a premium-priced product, this is unacceptable. I did everything correctly: reported problems immediately, provided evidence, returned the wrong and damaged items promptly, and followed their instructions. Yet I still had to repeatedly chase them for vague, non-committal replies.

Poor fulfilment, poor quality control, slow handling, inconsistent communication, and a replacement process that punishes the customer for the company’s own errors. I would not recommend ordering from Edel-Optics if you expect reliable service or proper after-sales support.

SCAMMERS & LIARS & FRAUDS WASTING…

SCAMMERS & LIARS & FRAUDS WASTING CLIENT'S TIME!!!!

I purchased frames via the online shop on 13.01 at 16:15 and paid an INSANE amount of 44 PLN for UPS Express delivery. It was CLEARLY stated that the package would be delivered on 14.01 by the end of the day. I have an optician appointment on 15.01 in another city, so delivery on 14.01 was absolutely crucial.

TODAY, on 14.01, I received my first notification from UPS stating that they WILL NOT deliver the package today, but tomorrow. After checking the shipment details, it is clear that Edel-Optics did not prepare the package on time.

I contacted customer service, and they LIE, LIE AND LIE. Their response was: “As explained previously, the order was placed after 5 PM.” This is simply false. In the customer panel and in the payment confirmation, it clearly shows that the order was placed and paid for on 13.01 at 16:15 — NOT after 5 PM.

They clearly do not give a DAMN about preparing orders on time, lie about when the order was placed, assume customers are idiots who cannot read a clock, and completely ignore legitimate complaints.

I have already requested a full refund. THE MOST AMATEUR AND PATHETIC SERVICE EVER.

PS2 - I just received info that on 14.01.2026, 17:41 - they barely have sent the frames - laughable!

Avoid

Avoid Edel Optics at all costs! I ordered glasses frames recently. They allegedly sent it to me two times and two times they requested a change for delivery in UPS My choice and the status changed shortly after they sent it to a new status "A UPS My Choice delivery change has been requested for this parcel. The parcel will be returned to the sender." So they send a parcel and then just decide "no, we have to get it back" and request UPS to return it to them? Or maybe there is a safety issue in your system and some bored worker or ex worker is playing tricks with your customers?

Two times the parcel came from DE to PL, there and back, there and back. But it never got to UPS access point because someone is requesting, shortly after sending it, that it should be returned to the sender. This is not a mistake as it happended two times! UPS claims the seller itself changed the status, Edel Optics claims that they did not do it and claims it will intervene in UPS. This is ridiculous.

Playing tricks with customers, what for?! Are you bored?

I claimed my money back and now they want me to wait 5-7 working days after they get the parcel back from UPS, the parcel that was never delivered because Edel Optics maliciously did not allow the parcel to reach me. Please mind i didn't even had the chance to get the package. Waiting for my money back and never ever again! I will update you people here about my "money back" if I ever get it.

I've purchased sunglasses from this store twice already and I'm coming back again! The shipping and delivery were very fast, and the customer service is excellent. The sunglasses are original, in perfect condition, and carefully packaged. It's truly a pleasure to shop here – definitely not my last purchase!

Warning for Those Considering Shopping at Edel-optics

A year ago, I placed an order for Tom Ford frames (B-PL23-3841422). Initially, I was informed that the order processing would be delayed. Later, I was told that fulfilling the order was not possible, and if I wanted a refund, I would need to go to court. Importantly, I was never given information on what steps I could take to recover my money—instead, I was informed post-factum about what I could no longer do. Recently, I received information that the District Court in Hamburg has initiated bankruptcy proceedings against the assets of Edeloptics GmbH. I understand that I will not recover my money, but I want to warn everyone considering shopping at this store to avoid experiencing the same fate as I did.

I ordered my Maui Jim sunglasses in…

I ordered my Maui Jim sunglasses in Poland from Edel-Optics.pl and the delivery was quick, ordered 11 October (Friday), received it 16 October (Wed), 3 working days.
The product was authentic, came in original packaging and I am satisfied with it.
The complementary glass cleaning device (eye-shaker) was a nice addition.
