upsetting that EEC has now gone into liquidation

Am very upset that this company has now gone into liquidation. The storage batteries for our solar panel installation went faulty on Christmas Day and I have been trying unsuccessfully to make contact with EEC since. Doubly upsetting since mine was the 1st review listed on this trustpilot site, when that repair job had been sucessful. I am a 75 year old widow and do not know what to do now.

Good Install, crap customer service

Called EC as my PV systems wasn't generating, they advised it was probably the invereter as it's over 5 years old. Installed a new inverter, which I'm pleased with - however, the installer said there was nothing wrong with the inverter, it was a loose conenction on a panel.
they took the perfectly working old inverter which was not theirs, it was mine.

Tried recently to contact them as they left the system locked and I need admin access to the intallation, and they've disappeared, meaning I nor anyone else can maintain my system

No longer trading

EEC installed my solar panels 8 years ago. They put a roof bar across my dormer bay that prevented me from replacing the felted flat roof. Weeks of prevarication took place before the roof bar was moved and in the meantime the workman put his foot through the roof. Rain ingress then brought down my hall and bathroom ceiling. I have had to obtain a County Court Judgement against them that they refused to answer to. All telephone lines and e mail addresses are now not contactable so no doubt they have done a runner.

Today I tried to contact EEC

Today I tried to contact EEC, only to find that the company may have gone into liquidation. So what happens to the remaining 12 months left on the warranty that I purchased? There is a Facebook help page set up for people who have had work done by EEC, I have applied to join. You can find the group by search groups on Facebook and click on European Environmental Controls (EEC) help group

Disappointment - yet another company failure

Yes, GE. The company has gone bust, leaving our PV-battery system incomplete. A shame as individual technicians working on the contract were very professional, but, overall, the company did not have the capability to deliver an integrated system. Set a bad example for other solar energy companies in not warning customers of their imminent closure.

Has the company gone bust

Has the company gone bust? They installed my system of solar panels and batteries some years back and I had no complaints. I recently had to change my broadband router, and now I can't connect to the wifi data-logger in the loft. I have been recording daily power generated for 8 years. When I try phoning I am told the number is not recognised. Emails are unanswered.

This is an update to my last post in…

This is an update to my last post in September 2022. Nearly 2 years on from initiating repairs to a failed optimiser, I am still waiting for an engineer to come and install the new optimiser that I have had for nearly the same amount of time. The last engineer that came couldn't do the job because there was no scaffolding erected. Since then, nothing. So I thought I'd chase them up, only to find that the company may have gone into liquidation. So what happens to the remaining 12 months left on the warranty that I purchased? Apparently there has been a Facebook help page set up for people who have had work done by EEC, which I have requested to join.

After digging deeper and speaking to…

After digging deeper and speaking to the installer who fitted my batteries. EEC should be disgusted and hang their heads in shame. Still taking money off customers and preaching been in buisness 32 years bla bla bla when i fact they knew the company were in trouble in may/June when my installation was completed, after many hickups. Yet still not a word to advise customers of the companies financial state. Giving the customer the choice wether to proceed or NOT. I have spoken the the insurance company HIES and they disconnected from EEC in March. So basically it looks like any work they done there after has no guarantee. HIES have advised to contact the manufacturers of products about a guarantee.
Absolutely disgusting EEC and any employee that sold to customers. Shame on you

Company gone into liquidation

I had my solar panels installed in 2015 and the inverter has stopped working. I first contacted them in April 2024 and had replies to my emails saying they were waiting for an engineer to be free. I have now phoned and called them over 10 times and I am now only getting the standard automatic email response that they will get back to me within 7 days. My inverter was guaranteed by them for 20 years but that is worthless if they can't be bothered to send anyone out to replace it.
I have just had this response to my latest email
Thank you for your email.

The company has ceased trading and winding proceedings have commenced to place the company into Liquidation. If you are a supplier, the liquidator will contact you once they have been appointed in due course.
If you are experiencing an issue with your equipment we recommend contacting the manufacturers directly for assistance, alternatively you can contact your insurance backed guarantee provider, HIES, on 0344 324 5242
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this time

Poor communication!!

Like many people I have tried to contact EEC Solar since mid May and not been able to contact anyone by phone or received any reply to emails. I was in the process of getting a battery repair and also adding more panels. They took a deposit of £500 and it looks like that has gone, if they have gone under. Anyone know what happens to warranties or how I get my money back?

My solar panels are not working and I have been trying to contact EEC Solar for several days but phones are disconnected. I saw the review on this site saying they are no longer trading.
Can this be confirmed?
Are our warranties still valid?
Any advice greatly received.

Have EEC Home improvements really gone bust?

EEC still have my batteries which they took for repair on 8th February. They cancelled their installation appointment on 17th June and have ignored me since. I tried to contact them again today and I got a message saying that they are no longer trading. The number on their web site is also unavailable.

EEC Home improvements have left their…

EEC Home improvements have left their customers and contractors in the dark, around their financial stability. The company entered into a CVA this year which has now failed they have ceased trading with debts of nearly 1million without so much as a word to their customers or contractors. I feel sorry for all customers of EEC that have recently had an installation which now has a worthless warranty. It’s quite likely they won’t get their insurance backed warranty as HIES pulled their cover. I doubt they will ever see their MCS certifications.

Phone scam?

Be aware of people phoning and saying this company has gone bust and that safety checks are overdue and they have someone in your area. Cannot verify they are real.

Company insolvent, do NOT recommend

This company have filed for insolvency. They may be know as EEC Home Improvements, EEC Solar as well as European Environmental Controls Limited amongst other names, company registration number: 2563101 whereby you can find details to confirm this on Companies House as I cannot post a link.

We have been trying to get an outstanding issue for a system we inherited resolved for 2 years as the customer service has been so slow and bad, and now they have now disappeared.

This isn’t official advice but is what we have done, if you have a Solaredge system and need help, contact Solaredge directly to find a new approved installer or engineer in your area.

Faulty kit installed no response.…

I was a previous customer for solar panels and agreed to upgrade with a "Tesla" battery. It was installed in April and is working fine. Unfortunately, the Solar iBoost unit for hot water is already showing faulty. They are not responding to emails or 'phone calls. It looks like they've shut up business. 'very disappointed and annoyed.
