We booked our 20-day self-drive trip through Namibia with Elefant-Tours, and we honestly couldn’t have been happier with our experience. From the very first planning conversation until the last day of our trip, everything was perfectly organized, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy one of the most amazing holidays we have ever taken.

The planning process was excellent. Our travel consultant, Larissa Walter, was always friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond. She carefully considered our wishes, happily adjusted the itinerary where needed, and we always felt that our trip was being tailored to our family rather than being just another standard package tour.

Before booking, we requested quotes from several other tour operators offering similar itineraries. Many of them were significantly more expensive. Considering the quality of the itinerary, the accommodation and the overall service, Elefant-Tours offered outstanding value for money.

One service we especially appreciated was the complimentary personal meeting with a local representative immediately after our arrival in Namibia. For first-time self-drive visitors, this was incredibly reassuring. We had the opportunity to ask questions, receive practical travel advice and get useful local tips before starting our journey. It gave us great confidence from the very beginning and showed how much Elefant-Tours genuinely cares about its guests.

The travel documents were excellent as well. They were detailed, easy to follow and contained everything we needed, including driving distances, accommodation details and helpful recommendations for each stage of the journey.

One thing we especially loved was the order of the itinerary. Looking back, we think it was a brilliant decision to visit Etosha National Park towards the end of the trip instead of at the beginning.

During the first part of our journey, every wildlife sighting felt exciting. Whether we spotted an oryx, a springbok, a giraffe or a zebra, every encounter felt special because animals outside the national parks are naturally much shyer and often require a little patience to find.

Then came Etosha—the perfect grand finale. Suddenly we were surrounded by elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras and huge herds of antelope. The amount of wildlife we saw there was simply incredible, and being able to observe so many animals so closely was an unforgettable experience.

We honestly believe that if we had started our trip in Etosha, many of the wildlife encounters during the rest of the journey would not have felt nearly as exciting. Because we experienced Namibia in this carefully planned order, we appreciated every single animal we saw throughout the trip. It was a very thoughtful itinerary and made the entire experience even more rewarding.

The accommodation was also outstanding. Every lodge had its own unique character and was located in beautiful surroundings. Our personal favourites included Greenfire Desert Lodge, Grootberg Lodge, Onguma Bush Camp and Otjiwa. Everywhere we stayed, we received a warm welcome and felt genuinely looked after. It was obvious that the accommodation had been carefully selected by people who know Namibia extremely well.

We also appreciated the perfect balance between organization and independence. Everything important had been arranged in advance, while we still enjoyed the freedom to explore at our own pace, stop whenever we wanted and truly experience Namibia as a self-drive destination.

This was without question one of the best holidays our family has ever taken. The breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, carefully designed itinerary, wonderful lodges and excellent organization combined to create an unforgettable experience.

Our safari through Tanzania, including Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti, was simply unforgettable. The lodges were beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable.

Our guide, Erick, was outstanding. Thanks to his extensive knowledge, experience, and keen eye, we were able to see an incredible variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, rhinos, hippos, and many more. He not only took us to the best wildlife viewing spots but also shared fascinating insights about the animals, nature, and Tanzania throughout the trip.

We felt safe and well taken care of at all times, and our whole family had an amazing time.

Outstanding 13-Day Private Family Tour in Namibia

We recently completed a fantastic 13-day private tour of Namibia as a family of four, organized by Elefant-Tours / Namibia Experience, and we could not have been more satisfied with the experience.
From the very beginning, the communication and contact with Elefant-Tours in Germany were excellent. All inquiries were answered promptly and professionally, and the planning process was smooth, efficient, and reassuring. This high level of service gave us confidence that the trip would be well organized, and our expectations were fully met.
The entire trip was exceptionally well organized. The transportation, itinerary planning, choice of routes, and selection of lodges were all thoughtfully arranged. We particularly appreciated the carefully chosen lunch and dinner locations, which allowed us to enjoy both local cuisine and beautiful settings throughout the journey.
A special thank you goes to our guide and driver, Norman. He was extremely kind, knowledgeable, punctual, and highly professional. His extensive knowledge of Namibia’s wildlife, landscapes, and culture added tremendous value to the trip. We always felt safe thanks to his excellent driving skills, and his organization and attention to detail ensured that everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
A special mention goes to Norman, who surprised two family members on their birthdays during the trip, making these occasions particularly memorable.
The accommodation was another highlight of the tour. Most lodges offered spacious, comfortable rooms or chalets, excellent amenities, friendly staff, and enjoyable local activities. Breakfasts and dinners were mostly very good and contributed positively to the overall experience.
Our favorite lodges were:
• Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch
• Otjohotozu Guestfarm
• Damaraland Lodge
• Mushara Lodge (excellent overall, although Wi-Fi connectivity could be improved)
• Frans Indongo Lodge
These properties stood out for their comfort, atmosphere, service, and overall quality.
There were a few minor issues during the trip. Etosha Omusati Lodge did not quite meet the standard of the other accommodations, with limited Wi-Fi access, inconsistent hot water, and a less satisfying dinner experience.
As a suggestion for future tours, we would encourage the lodges to place even greater emphasis on offering traditional Namibian cuisine and regional specialties. While the food quality was mostly very good, a broader selection of local dishes would further enhance the authentic cultural experience and allow guests to discover Namibia through its culinary traditions.
Overall, this was an unforgettable family adventure and an excellent way to discover Namibia. We highly recommend Elefant-Tours / Namibia Experience to anyone looking for a well-organized, comfortable, and authentic travel experience. With Norman as our guide, the trip exceeded our expectations and created memories that will stay with us for years to come. Thanks!

We (6 people from Austria, Poland and Greece) booked a 10 day private safari via Elefant Tours. The agency planned the tour very well, taking into account all of our requests and dealing with them in a very efficient and satisfactory way. We visited Tarangire, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Arusha and Arusha National park, and the Kilimanjaro. Thanks especially to our excellent guide, Ndelilio, it was a wonderful journey filled with exciting adventures. Ndelilio was extremely helpful, constantly trying to find the most exciting spots, solving any problem that occurred, including getting the car that was stuck in the mud out again. If you plan a trip to see the wildlife in Tanzania, then we certainly recommend this travel agency, they will make your trip an unforgettable one.
