It was super easy to deal with the team at EQ. I had the privilege of dealing with Glenda. She was very accommodating and understanding. She took the time to walk us through the process and made the deal very easy to understand. 100% satisfied

I considered that getting a reverse mortgage could turn into a nasty experience with the wrong representative. I initially contacted a competitor and recognized that the person I was dealing with was a little off-handed and not detail oriented. I contacted Equitable Bank and was put in touch with Agnes Letkeman. Agnes impressed me with her scope of knowledge, her prompt and professional customer service skills, and her evident care for clients. My experience with Equitable Bank was a smooth one from beginning to end. My kudos to Equitable and their affiliates for being well run organizations. Special kudos to Agnes for providing customer service that seems to be in short supply these days.

i had alot of questions at first,but after talking to Glenda about reverse mortgages i was at ease.although going through the process,is hard work on both sides,i still think it was worth it.alot of papers had to be signed and initialed ,mabie thats a place they could cut back on in the future. equitable bank was a little confusing but after a phone call or 2 things were straighten out thanks to all going to enjoy our retirement.

It was a pleasure working with Glenda who is a Customer Engagement Specialist for Equitable Bank. She is very knowledgeable, professional responds very promptly to phone calls and emails. I'll be honest, we were very reluctant to take a reverse mortgage and the reason is that I did not understand how it works. After couple of telephone conversation with Glenda I was at ease because she explainned everithing so therally that everything made sense that taking adventage of the equity we built in our home was the right solution for us. The whole process was smooth and hassle free. Thank you Glenda for doing a great job and taking such a good care of our needs. Highly recommended!!

Glenda called and gave great service, even when I did not initially leave message. (I was gonna call the next day.)
Equitable Bank also provided service when I am located outside of their normal service area.
They provided incentives and lower rates, all contributing to their winning the business.

I like this bank. They do not charge any fee for e-transfers.

Understanding is the one word that describes my first encounter with Glenda Neill.
I first applied to a competitor which was disappointing but at the same time it was a God sent message.
Glenda made my experience with Equitable Bank a positive one. She understood what I was feeling and professionally took my information and explained what I could expect from that point forward. And just weeks later I am mortgage free!!!

Great Bank, ideal alternative to the big 5 banks

I was very nervous about applying for a reverse mortgage but was tired of never having any extra money. Glenda made me feel like I was doing the right thing and made the process very easy to understand. I really appreciate how professional and caring she is. I’m so glad I got to work with her.

My first experience with equitable bank went very well even though I was very nervous going into it but I had no other choice after my bank of many years turned me down. So I want to say thank you and to the very polite Glenda who walked me through it and also did all the follow up. Praying that everything will work out fine in the years ahead. Thank you.

Most notably. continuously gained respect for the professionalism demonstrated from start to finish. Everything was well documented, communicated and executed efficiently. Very fortunate we found Equitable Bank Reverse Mortgage Lending and Agnes.

Thanks to Genda, overall the process worked quite smoothly. The only negative comment I would have is that the amount of paperwork should be reduced. Our lawyer says it is a lot more than other reverse mortgage companies require. It would have taken days to read and understand it all, if we had the time to attempt to do so.

It can be scary when you reach your retirement age and you still have a mortgage to pay and with the interests rates now. Then comes Bloom with a way to not having to make mortgage payment. At first I thought this is too good to be true it must be a scam but it is not. It is just a different type of lender. It really didn't take that long to go through the process. If paying down your mortgage is stopping you from retirement talk with the people at Bloom.

I have Auto-deposit set up on all my accounts. An E-transfer was sent. He showed me it was sent, then EQ Bank returned the money to him. This exact same thing happened two weeks ago costing me $280. They blamed Interac, passing the buck and refusing to refund my loss.
I pointed out what I believed to be common sense that, if Interac is to blame, EQ Bank, who I deal with, should refund my money, then go after Interac for the issue. I don't deal with Interac, they're not my partner. I deal with EQ Bank.
If I can't pay a loan shark, he doesn't care if it's because someone else ripped me off. It's my knees that get broken, not whoever the guy is down the line who didn't pay me.
I've had a TD Bank account for over 11 years. Once, for half a day, e-transfers stopped working. I've never had any of rest of the numerous issues I've had with EQ Bank. EQ is great when it works, but EQ Bank fails often. EQ Bank is barely acceptable as a secondary bank. Never depend on EQ Bank as your primary bank. There are just too many problems.
Update: Even though the email I received from EQ Bank states "We," meaning EQ Bank, were unable to deposit the E-transfer from... They are now pretending the other bank cancelled it.
When an e-transfer is sent to someone with Autodeposit, it clearly states "this e-transfer cannot be cancelled once sent," and the guy showed me it was sent, EQ Bank is now lying because not paying me back makes no sense if they admit the fault is with them, and it clearly is.
- Side note: Today, once again, E-transfers cannot be performed using EQ bank. It's one issue after another with them. You NEED to keep an account at a REAL bank to get you through the numerous occasions where EQ Bank fails.

Patricia and Olivia were exceptional! From the submission stage to instructing the file, communication was top notch, underwriting practices were exceptional and the ease of usage of the portal was also a bonus.
Patty read my comments, touched base with me and issued a commitment in less than 48 hours on a file which required a few exceptions.
I do enjoy working with Equitable Bank as the support you receive from BDM to underwriter to mortgage officer is the best in the industry.

Our representative Agnes Letkeman was excellent. The process was somewhat slower as we progressed, but we found Equitable and Agnes Letkeman good to deal with.

It was a gear experience dealing with Glenn from the beginning of our discussions/ Intro then the detailed guided process.
