Essay grader is really useful, convenient, and powerful.

It gives you flexibility to create your own scoring rubrics, which is something other systems did not have. It was quick to learn how to connect it to my classes (I use Google Classroom).

Most importantly, it really improved students' writing. When they finished the rough draft, I ran them through Essay Grader, and it returned them with scores and with detailed tips on how to improve them (and not just grammar check-real revising, not just proofreading).

I was able to have Essay Grader focus on general writing skills (based on the rubric I provided) while I focused on a couple specific things to score myself. That's how I used it. Essay Grader gave my students a holistic score while I looked at things like the thesis statement, or the quotes and MLA formatting, or the dialogue, depending on the assignment. I found this way the most useful for me. It didn't replace grading; it made it more targeted and more useful. And, of course, doing that, it made the process of grading far easier and far faster.

As a middle school Language Arts teacher with 90 students across three classes, marking written work can easily take over my evenings. Essay Grader has honestly been a game changer for me.
I was able to log in and start grading right away because it’s so easy to use. You can tell it was designed by teachers because everything just makes sense. Connecting it to Google Classroom was simple, and it fits really well with how I already mark my assignments.
What amazed me most was the speed. I can upload a full class set and have it graded in minutes. The marking is also very accurate and closely aligns with how I would assess student writing myself. I also really like that you can create your own rubrics or use ones that are already available.

Essay Grader is amazing! Of course, it is highly beneficial for a teacher (help with grading), but students also love the feedback it provides. As an English writing instructor (9-12 largely AP focus) for the past thirty-years, I am happy to share that EssayGrader has been a most helpful tool in my assessment process. To begin, it is simple to submit/upload class documents to be graded. Second, creating and implementing course rubrics is easy as well. Third, the AI check is definitely a deterrent to those thinking of using it. Finally, I really enjoy the individualized feedback the students receive from the EssayGrader system as it breaks down the strengths and weaknesses, focusing on areas to improve upon. I am currently looking forward to using the updated plagiarism checker - this is a priceless tool for educators.

I spent weeks researching programs that aid in grading essays. I found that EssayGrader was the best fit for my 5th grade classes. My students write 6 essays a year, and I was averaging 25 hours of home time to grade each set. Since using EssayGrader this year, it has cut that time in half.

I am able to upload my rubric, it's easy to upload essays from Google Drive or Google Classroom, it color coordinates the skills on my rubric to their essay, I can print the reports to pass back to my students or export to Google Classroom, and it's user friendly.

I have completed one of the trainings as well, which was informative and helpful. Another bonus, every time I have used the chat feature, I am helped immediately, even late at night when I am grading.

My only complaint is that I wish it printed the color-coordinated edits on the reports, but I am told that is in the works. As with any A-I feature, I still read through each essay and edit the scores and comments as needed. Still, this has been a game-changer for grading essays! I would highly recommend this to any teacher grading essays!
