Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 746 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers appreciate the helpful and friendly staff, often highlighting specific individuals for their positive impact and professionalism. Reviewers frequently mention the good condition of facilities, including inviting pools, well-maintained equipment, and clean changing rooms. The quality of service, such as excellent coffee in the cafe and engaging trainers, also contributes to a positive atmosphere. However, some people were dissatisfied with the cleanliness of certain areas, citing issues like dirty gyms, moldy saunas, and unkempt changing rooms. There are also concerns about facilities being out of order for extended periods, such as broken squash courts, cold showers, and malfunctioning spa rooms. Additionally, some customers experienced poor management, unhelpful staff, and a lack of proper maintenance, leading to dissatisfaction with the overall service.

One area where Taro could improve is by…

One area where Taro could improve is by reducing or eliminating the use of MSG (E621) in their dishes. While some diners don’t mind flavour enhancers, others prefer restaurants that rely solely on natural seasoning. Offering MSG‑free options or clearly labelling dishes that contain E621 would make the menu more transparent and appealing to a wider range of customers.

MSG (E621) is considered safe for most people, but a small number may experience short‑term, mild reactions sometimes called “MSG symptom complex.” These effects are not dangerous, but they can be uncomfortable.

MSG (monosodium glutamate) is a flavour enhancer used in many cuisines. It’s not a preservative — it boosts savoury/umami taste. It’s not good for even those that don’t have allergies and put in food to make you want more so avoid

Enjoy the exercise classes

Enjoy the exercise classes. Lots to choose from.
The booking system needs changing. Classes get booked up the week before and then people cancel at the last minute with only a couple of hours notice. It makes planning very difficult if you don’t know whether you’ll get a place until the last minute

The website is extremely poor and…

The website is extremely poor and barely usable. The app is not great either, but the user experience on the website is genuinely awful.

I selected Ponds Forge in Sheffield, chose the session I wanted, and then decided to check other available sessions. There was no clear “back” button on the page, so I used the browser’s back button. I then found a suitable slot and completed the booking.

Only afterwards, when I checked the booking in the app, did I realise that the leisure centre had automatically reset to the first option on the list — Abbey Leisure Centre — instead of staying on Ponds Forge, which I had originally selected.

As a result, I paid for a session at the wrong leisure centre. This is a serious UX issue: the site should not silently change the selected location during the booking process.

Unfortunately, this is not the first problem I have had with this app and website. The whole system feels unreliable, confusing and badly designed.

A really good gym to go to

A really good gym to go to, just been done up quite recently. Parking available and you can register your car quite easily on a screen once inside, avoiding the parking charges and fines. Good spaced out machines and equipment. Clean. Staff very helpful. Ample personal training, courses, activities available should you require them. I have been there for several years, and can highly recommend.

Too hot

Gym has plenty of kit but it's stiflingly warm. No air conditioning. (Doesn't work) so really demotivating. Pouring with sweat after 10 mins or so.

Extremely disappointed with Everyone…

Extremely disappointed with Everyone Active.

I enrolled my daughter in swimming lessons, but after attending just one lesson she felt uncomfortable and did not want to return. I understand that businesses need cancellation policies, but charging £75 and not allowing any short cooling-off period or reasonable flexibility feels unfair and overly focused on money rather than customer experience.

To make matters worse, there is no clear email address available to submit a complaint or discuss the situation properly. For an organisation that works with children and families, I expected much better customer service and understanding.

Parents should carefully read all terms and conditions before signing up, as you may end up paying a significant amount even if your child cannot continue after the first lesson.

Very disappointing experience.

Redcar leisure centre…

I travel from Guisborough to Redcar leisure centre gym as often as I can with work commitments. I find the centre is equipped very well given an all round workout that is enjoyable, with machines that are clean and easy to use. Pool facilities are very clean and maintained too.
I find Staff are very polite and always helpful from staff at the front desk to the staff in the gym.

I attended a class as scheduled and…

I attended a class as scheduled and subsequently checked into the spa without any issues, which further demonstrates that I was present at the facility that day.

Despite this, I later received an email stating that I had failed to attend the class and that I would be charged accordingly. Furthermore, my membership card has been blocked as a result of this alleged non-attendance.

This is completely unjust, as I did attend the class and relied on the assurances provided by your staff. Since receiving the notification, I have sent several emails seeking to resolve the matter and have received no meaningful response. I have also called multiple times in an attempt to have my card unblocked, only to be told that the issue had to be dealt with via email. Despite my repeated efforts, the matter remains unresolved.

I find the lack of communication and support extremely disappointing. I have spent a significant amount of time chasing this issue, causing unnecessary stress and frustration, yet I am still unable to access services due to a mistake that was not of my making.

The best gym in Harrow

I’ve been a member at Harrow Leisure Centre for a over a year now and honestly can’t fault it, the facilities are unbeatable for the price. The range of the equipment is amazing, and I have never had to queue even at peak times. The new Women’s Gym is just fabulous with many new equipment. I have made so many friends since joining the gym and its done good for my mental health as when I joined, I was unfit overweight and very unhealthy.

The classes are next level thought. My favourite classes are:

• Yoga with Kantilal. He is excellent at explaining alignment and my posture has improved so much.
• Pilates with Angela (exercise manager), Tania & Liz. Angela is very knowledgeable and motivating and her classes are perfect for all levels. Her instructions are so clear & precise that I can follow the entire class just by listening. Tania’s class is challenging but so encouraging that you want to do it every week as she uses pilate balls, round loop bands and long resistance bands, each class is unique and amazing. Liz is excellent at breaking down techniques as I’ve finally understood how to engage my core properly and you are refreshed by 9am on Sunday mornings.
• Zumba with Marina. Her classes are pure joy and she makes an hour of cardio feel like a night out, this is the most fun way to get fit. I love her playlist and the dances, such a fun class.
• Body Conditioning with Angela & Monica. I really look forwards to Thursday mornings as this class is an overall body workout and very effective, Angela starts at 7am which is perfect for people who are working full time. Monica always pushes you hard and explains the moves, brilliant at motivating and I’m seeing the results now.
• Core with Angela. My core feels much stronger, however still struggle to do scissors but my core has improved since starting this class and I am sure I will see further improvements.
• Spin with Monica. Her insane energy and playlists make me push much harder than I ever would on my own and leaves me dripping but buzzing.
• Body Pump with Sally, she always motivates us to lift heavier, best pump class in Harrow.
• Women’s Dance Fitness with Monica. Her energy if infectious, it’s a perfect mix of killer workout and party vibes, every class is like a party, and I leave drenched and buzzing. Am so super excited to dance in the new studio which opens this Saturday, can’t wait to party.
• Aqua with Monica – brings so much energy to aqua that you forget you’re exercising until the next day aches!
• Body Combat with Chantelle – love Sunday morning class, she is full of energy, and we have so much fun while working out.
• Sauna, Steam & Swimming – this combo is unbeatable for unwinding & I enjoy using these facilities after my classes. The swimming pool is large and usually warm so it’s not an ice bath shock going from the steam or sauna into the pool.

Reception staff are a credit to Harrow Leisure Centre, always greet you with a big smile weather its 6am or 10pm, I can name my favourite front desk team member who are Tola, Abdullah, Olivia, Ayesha & Rory, very lovely bunch of reception staff.

I am really looking forwards to the large new studio which opens this weekend and will have more capacity , which means more spots, more energy, but the same epic workout so don’t delay and join Harrow Leisure Centre today!!!

**A review update on The Greig Centre…

**A review update on The Greig Centre in Alcester**

I have been attending regular Pickleball sessions at the Greig Centre for several months but the standard of the equipment (the nets in particular) have degraded terribly. I and others have mentioned this to our activity leader Esther, who has raised the problem with her line management, who have said they do not have the “budget” to replace the damaged nets and provide two new nets. As replacement nets only cost £30, I am somewhat perplexed by this dismissive response to a reasonable request.

Having spoken to people who attend Pickleball sessions at other Everyone Active locations in Studley and Stratford upon Avon, they have perfectly adequate equipment available to them. Perhaps this issue can be addressed sooner rather than later to ensure five star customer satisfaction?

This is the only issue I have, as the sessions themselves are very popular and over-subscribed every week.

It’s a shame that the Everyone Active management team responsible for the Greig Centre is ignoring the concerns of regulars who make use of the facilities and only want to have decent quality equipment available, as this is what we are paying for.

Top experience all round

Top experience all round, I highly recommend this place. One to one help with a particular issue and the PT Bradley knows exactly what exercises I need. He took the trouble to get my history as well and was helpful, thoughtful, constructive, encouraging. The new gym equipment is top of the range as well. The pool looks inviting. Could see that there's lots of other facilities, all in nice condition. The coffee in the cafe is excellent! Nice vibe and lots of staff around. Goods value for money. All round impressive and much appreciated 🙂

A great facility which is poorly managed. Broken things (showers, lockers, swimsuit spinners, water fountains) don't get fixed for months and months. The lifeguards are useless, and do not do anything when there are issues in the pools. The competition pool is almost always unavailable at weekends. They don't put up lane speed indicators in the training pool so everyone gets aggravated.

I am very happy that I joined this walking sports group with Amelia.
It is such a lot of fun, and we choose to play pickle ball or table tennis.
Amelia always joins in, always smiling and helps us keep to the rules and remembers the score which most of us find difficult !
It is a really friendly group. You should join us😊
