WATCHOUT for Auto-Renew on your subscription
My wife and I used Evite last year for a family wedding and paid for the subscription, but did not realize that they automatically setup the subscription as "Auto Renew".
I saw a charge for $249.99 on my credit card in July and I am trying to contact customer support as the charge hit my credit card on 6/23/2025. There is no response from them and their FAQ's states that the charges are non-refundable.
I know its a mistake on my part, but this is still very bad business practice as I have not used EVITE since last October to create any new invites.
07/09/2025
Changed to 4 as the support team responded and gave me full credit for the automatic renewal 249.99.
HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE. I PAYED 36.00 TWO TIMES TO ADD MORE GUESTS. OVER HALF OF MY GUESTS TOLD ME THEY NEVER RECIEVED THE EVITE. I GO TO TRY TO ASK FOR SOME TYPE OF COMPENSATION AND OF COURSE NO REFUNDS. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY.
How are they still in business?
I honestly don't know how this company is still in business. The UX experience is terrible. It lacks intuition and is glitchy when you try to move around elements. It wouldn't let me make edits to an invite so I ended up having to start over and recreate a new invite THREE TIMES! It didn't save the guest list. It makes you update the same information in multiple places so it's easy to make mistakes. I'm honestly shocked at how bad this website is. I guess they hire coders who are doing practice in a high school course because the engineers who designed this website should be embarrassed.
STAY AWAY FROM EVITE!!
Without question THE WORST app/website and service EVER. DO NOT USE. No support, no customer service, no chat available, if chat is available it takes 10 mins for someone to connect, no one answers your email questions. NOT AT ALL USER FRIENDLY. Functions that they say exist, don't. I'm so sorry I used them. Truly, honestly, absolutely AWFUL!!!!
real shitty
real shitty, unfair guiding with costs only at the end, complicated, additional functions don't really work and are strange to access, expensive for the miserable service
The interface is shitty and extremely…
The interface is shitty and extremely hard to use. I can't believe that it's so bad. The only reason that Evite still exist is that they were here first so they have the brand name.
No website in recent memory was as frustrating to use!
Stay away from these scammers
Stay away from these scammers! I created my invitation but it gives error when my guests try to open it. I sent tens of emails but they don’t even reply back. They don’t care after they receive your money! No customer service at all! I asked a refund but again no reply nothing! My money has gone to garbage! So does my time! Stay away from them if you don’t want to waste your money.
HORRIBLE website
HORRIBLE website. No way of getting a hold of customer service.
This used to be a great app for sending…
This used to be a great app for sending invitations. I have used it for 5 years and have never had a problem. The software completed changed. I don't understand how a company dramatically increases the price and then takes away features.
I will never use them again. Beware
No human support
No human support. My draft was sent to my guests when I added the email addresses and it said “pay and send”. I thought I was paying and sending the payment but apparently it sent the draft evites to the guests. I had to cancel the evites I sent out and now my guests thinks the party was cancelled. It’s such a big mess. I tried to redo and resend but they are charging me again. I emailed them re the charge and they gave me a credit. Next time I went to my invitation, I checked to see if I have all my invitees on my list and I got an email that evites went out but none of my friends got it. It will be nice if there is a live person you can talk to. Now I have no idea what is going with my evite.
I never used and never will.
I never used and never will.
Someone I don't know is sending me stupid baby shower invites. And there's no unsubscribe button.
"This email was sent to [you] because you have been invited to an event by XYZ. Because it is not advertisement, it includes no "unsubscribe" option."
That's a lie. I just RSVP negative to the event, and it was a system notification message.
I upgraded and many of my invites were…
I upgraded and many of my invites were not received. Had to keep resending , one in particular,a phone number I know that is correct, it will not send ? Local number, tried many times on different days even. I have used the free version and didn't have near as many problems.
I have used Evite in the past (at least…
I have used Evite in the past (at least 4 years) with much success but lately it seems like the messages are not getting to the guests, the buttons and website are not user friendly and the invitations are limited. The pop up ads are getting very excessive. I think this might be the last time I use them. I will be looking around for other options in the future instead of using evite.
Evite's new product and pricing strategy is terrible
I have been a faithful user of Evite's online invitations for at least the last 10 years, but their "updated" invitations are no longer worth the effort or the expense. They have removed all the feature that made their product attractive to and work for me.
In the past, I'd send an email invite...the invitees would receive it and send a reply (right from the invitation), and had the option to send a text message along with the reply. Then their email reply would automatically come back to me, so I knew immediately if they were coming or not. They also provided a nice summary available on their web site that helped me keep track of who was coming and who couldn't attend. Why would they remove these attractive and useful features?
Their "new" (and awful} design now sends an email invitation that does not allow the invitee to RSVP from the invitation itself, but must revert back to the email and click a "reply" button...and if the invitation is read by the individual on their phone, the only options they have to reply is to select one of your emoji's with NO OPTION TO SEND ANY TEXT!! So if they want to send a text message, they must go back and send an email reply.
Also, their new "pay per card" philosophy, instead of charging for a select number of invitations, is detestable. In the past, I would never use all of the allowable cards, so I knew that if I discovered I missed someone, I would just send them a separate card at no additional charge. Now, if I missed someone I will be charged an additional fee for every additional card. Not good.
Their old product worked fine and was worth buying. Their new product is terrible. Evite should accept this as my RSVP that I will never use their product again!
Disastrous experience
It used to be so simple and straightforward to create an invitation and send it out via email. We've been using evite for over 10 years, and this has been an awful experience this year.
Whatever happened? This has become cumbersome and tedious, and why on earth I need a mandatory gift link for a holiday party without a guest of honor absolutely evades me.
Will be using another service next time. This is a mess. It's a shame.
Totally misleading website
Totally misleading website - horrid user experience -- echoing the same comments as prior users... what a scam?!!? they want $70 to email 40 online invitations... put your crazy pricing up front so on one wastes the time building it out and then having to do it again in paperless post for 1/7 the price (yes that is nearly 90% less). I don't even care that you charge so much -- just be upfront about it before people waste their time on your site! not cool.
What a scam!
I wanted to send a “free” Evite to 4 couples for a dinner party. I chose a free design but couldn’t turn off the gifting option without upgrading to “premium.” Why? I didn’t want any gifts given for a dinner party! Then, the premium cost $17.99 for up to 12 evites. I only needed 4 but had to pay the full price for 12. What a scam!
I started an invitation with 84 guests
I started an invitation with 84 guests. 54 of them did not receive the invitations. I one by one deleted them and added them back. A few more were able to receive them. But it is still continuing to not deliver many of those. Evites response is for me to remove all those and send them a link from my email That is not what I wanted to do. What a disaster. No help whatsoever. Most frustrating experience having to contact people over and over.
Invites are considered Spam
I found that many of the 30+ invites I sent went to the person’s email or message spam. I did them over again on my own, doing many separate texts, and guests verified that they’d never seen the evite. In retrospect I would have just done it myself in the first place and saved money and aggravation. And people wonder if they’re being hacked. A lot of hassle and money for nothing.
Get some human support, without paying extra
I use the site for a monthly church event, and mostly it works fine. I’m pretty computer literate and can search for solutions. But when I hit a bigger question I am either asked to wait days for an email response or asked to pay to get an answer. I already pay hundreds of dollars a year for this service and shouldn’t be asked to a) pay for support and b) enter credit card information to yet another random site.
