Why was I charged for a year if they knew that my website had a fatal error. Then they made recommendations that delayed getting it resolved and when I called to get my money refunded, they stated that it was over 30 days and did not refund after 30.
So I have a dead website and exact hosting gets a free year of fees. When asked them to think again, they delay yet keep sending notice of fatal website error. Useless

1-1/2 years later and I still love Exact Hosting for my website

I simply don't understand the negative reveiws. I know everything was a mess a few years back when Vista Print dumped all the websites on Wix, Exact Hosting, and others, and I was one of them who got dumped on Wix. Hated them. You couldn't even call them. They would call me at all hours including 3-4 in the morning. I have been with Exact Hosting for over a year now and have had zero issues. Zero. Someone from the US or Canada has always answered the phone, everyone has always been polite and extremely helpful, my website has never gone down or had issues, and I refer everyone I know to them including people who are not too tech savvy like me. Their website manager is extremely consumer friendly, and easy to understand and follow. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

When accounts transfer, apparently, accountability doesn't

My hosting account has passed through several companies over many years: Certified Hosting → Total Server Solutions → Performive → Exact Hosting.

I recently discovered that under TSS my domain renewal changed from three years to one year while the price remained essentially the same. The annual billing continued through subsequent transitions, resulting in several renewal charges that would not have occurred under the previous three-year schedule.

Exact Hosting has my historical billing records going all the way back to Certified Hosting. After I raised the issue, they refunded the portion of the most recent domain renewal that they had processed themselves. But management declined to address the earlier charges and told me to contact the companies that billed me—even though Exact Hosting could not provide contact information for those companies.

I asked which company now has responsibility for resolving billing problems associated with these transitioned customer accounts. I did not receive an answer.

I even proposed what I thought was a reasonable compromise involving a recent payment made directly to Exact Hosting. Management declined.

What troubles me most is the principle: customer accounts, services, billing histories, and revenue can apparently transition from company to company, but when there's a problem with that same historical account, the customer is told to chase companies several transitions back.

From this customer's perspective, continuity applies when it's time to collect payment, but not when it's time to resolve an inherited problem.

Stay away at all costs. And if you're already an Exact Hosting customer because your account arrived there through the seemingly endless chain of hosting-company acquisitions, my advice is to find a new host.

If I could leave no stars I would

If I could leave no stars I would. Unfortunately my previous hosting company was purchased by this one and I have had nothing but problems ever since. I have provided screenshots, timestamps and all the information that they've asked for and I'm still waiting for their customer service to respond to several issues that I have. It's been over a month and NOTHING has been fixed. They take a week or longer to respond. When they finally do respond they make it sound like it's my problem to fix. DO NO use them at all.

**EXACT HOSTING

**EXACT HOSTING: THE WORST HOSTING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD**

**One star only because zero stars is not an option.**

My business website and online shop were offline for more than 48 hours, and Exact Hosting could not even provide the basic courtesy of a meaningful response.

No proper technical update.

No explanation.

No progress report.

No estimated restoration time.

No evidence that anyone understood—or cared—how severely this was affecting my business and my paying customers.

I sent repeated requests for help while customers were unable to access services and paid digital content. Exact Hosting simply left me in the dark.

That is not support. That is abandonment.

When a hosting company accepts payment to keep a business online, the real test is not how things work on an ordinary day. The real test is what happens during a serious outage.

Exact Hosting failed that test completely.

I was forced to investigate the problems myself. I had to work through server errors, broken configuration, access problems and a WordPress shop that returned an HTTP 500 error with a completely empty page source. The shop was eventually found to be failing because a core WordPress file was missing. I had to identify and restore it myself.

Exact Hosting did not solve it.

Exact Hosting did not guide me through it.

Exact Hosting did not keep me informed.

Exact Hosting did not even provide the minimum level of communication expected from a professional hosting provider.

My Joomla website also had to be restored manually while Exact Hosting remained silent.

This experience cost me hours of work, caused extreme stress, disrupted my customers, placed my income at risk and destroyed any confidence I had in this company.

A hosting provider that disappears when a client’s business is offline is not a reliable hosting provider.

It is astonishing that a company can leave a paying customer’s business offline for more than two days and apparently believe that no communication is acceptable.

Based on my experience, I would never trust Exact Hosting with:

• A business website
• An online shop
• Customer accounts
• Paid digital content
• Business email
• Any website where uptime actually matters

I strongly warn other business owners: do not wait until your website is offline to discover what Exact Hosting’s support is really like.

By then, you may find yourself completely alone—exactly as I did.

I am moving my websites away from Exact Hosting because I no longer trust them to protect my business, respond during an emergency or provide the service I am paying for.

This was not merely disappointing service.

It was an absolute failure of hosting support, customer communication and professional responsibility.

**Avoid Exact Hosting.**

**Do not place a business-critical website in their hands.**

**Do not assume they will help you when something goes wrong.**

My experience shows that when the situation becomes serious, you may receive nothing but silence.

Worst company ever - I don't even know how they are still allowed to operate!
The technical side just doesn't work - whatever you try to do will result in an error message.
The customer service is inexistent - there is a bot sending you to the FAQs if you need any assistance.
Domains are hacked every now and then.

This is the worst Company I have ever experienced

This is the worst Company I have ever experienced in my 27 years of Web development and Hosting. Constantly under attack by hackers driving up bandwidth usage, and then having them block all access to my sites for days or weeks. This is criminal. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY.
Now they tell me that I need to use Cloudflare that might possibly protect my sites at a cost of $200 Per month on top of the ridiculous price I'm paying for hosting already. They have lost sites that were supposed to be backed up every month for years. but couldn't find one backup when I needed it.

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that your card was charged. I did review your tickets and see that our team promptly refunded these charges once we confirmed you were the account owner. I hope you can understand that we must verify customers before we perform any cancellation actions. Furthermore, our systems for renewals offer full self service options, where you can login and disable any renewals you no longer need.

Absolutely THE WORST web hosting…

Absolutely THE WORST web hosting platform out there. Stay away from them unless you enjoy your website being constantly under attack and poor customer service. I would never had used them but they but out my long time server (Islandhosting) and from the day they took over - nothing but problems! I manage a few sites and everyone was getting attacked which ate up all the disc quotas - their answer was to go to a higher tier and increase quota. A few weeks later - guess what? Increased attacks and, drained quotas and have to go to next tier. It’s a game they are playing just to get you to keep paying more. I asked them to cancel ALL my accounts in December and refund my pre-paid accounts. Someone from their company named Jill said she would take care of this. It’s now nearly April and nothing has been done after multiple reminders. Just got notice today from them that one of my account was suspended. Their tactic is to just let my accounts ‘run the clock’ until my pre-paid amounts are exhausted. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of of this horrendous server.

Hi John,

Thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback and I do apologize about the issues you experienced and that you felt we were trying to get you to pay more money per month.

To give some context, your plans all included 1GB of bandwidth per month on the basic package, which is a very small amount of bandwidth, provided by Island Hosting for a web site. We had been hosting your site for well over a year and we had even made adjustments to 10x your bandwidth per month as a courtesy at no extra cost. While we are here to help you with any issues with your hosting, we can't control when sites randomly are attacked by bots. We do our best to try and address the source of these so we can prevent them from happening in the future, but this type of investigation can take some time. At some point, older packages no longer suit the needs of today's technologies online and do require upgrades. I'm sorry we were unable to meet your needs and hope that you will reconsider us again in the future.

Support level is zero.

My websites got attacked and might be infected. One of them just stopped responding completely. I opened a ticket with support and haven’t heard back from them at all. It’s been like 5 days already. There’s no other way to contact support. Terrible experience, I wouldn’t recommend this host to anyone. There is only additional star for uptime level.

My previous hosting company acquired this piece of garbage...…

My previous hosting company acquired this worthless business and transferred me to them. NOTHING BUT BS!! No way to actually contact a real person for support! I had to write a ticket to find out why I wasn't receiving my BUSINESS EMAILS and it took them 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO REPLY! That is BEYOND unacceptable! I am trying to run my business! WHERE IS 24/7 SUPPORT??? And it has been over 8 weeks and they still have not transferred all my domain information and my domain from my previous hosting company. If you can at all avoid doing business with Exacthosting, do yourself a favor and RUN as far and fast as you can!! Here I sit again, having not received emails for over 6 hours. Any site that I have to get into that requires a passcode sent to me through an email... I can't get the email so I cannot get into the online business applications I need to get into to retrieve data. So here I sit, dead in the water for the past 5 hours... and still no emails. Can you tell I am a bit peeved and more than continually frustrated with this company? WHERE IS 24/7 SUPPORT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS???

Support can be worked with

They just bought my previous hosting provider. Had some issues paying invoices (didn't work on their end) and worked with customer support through it (I ended up helping them fix their website). I did get an invoice waived for my trouble so I'm happy and appreciate it. Apart from that, everything's been smooth.

Worst Experience Ever with Hosting

Awful experience every single time I try to manage my domains. Whoever is in charge of the UX experience, knowledge base and usability should had been fired like 10 years ago. That's how bad it is. Just stay away you'll do yourself a favor.

Exacthosting.com, Horrible company

Exacthosting.com had several domains belong to me. I ask them to transfer my domains and they provided me with bogus transfer pin that do no work. I waited almost two months and now I lost some of my domains. They play games with peoples livelihood. I am extremely frustrated at this point. I filed an official complaint with Icann, this is the U.S government regulatory agency for internet issues with ISP, Registrants etc. I haven't heard back from them as yet. This company is non business like and unprofessional; they're located in Canada. Do not do business with them.

LOUSIEST Hosting with the LOUSIEST…

LOUSIEST Hosting with the LOUSIEST support! It's unbelievable how unprofessional their support is. Already submitted a ticket for almost a month now, and it's still unresolved due to their super unresponsive support teams that cannot reply to my email without being chased on live chat! Always delay for 4 days or above to reply to a simple email! (I have a 9-day delay in between, and it can go on for longer if I didn't find time to follow up with their live chat) And I am from Malaysia, which means their live chat operation hour are between 8 pm to 8 am (off work hours), which is why I chose to reach out via email initially.

However, their mailbox are purely for decorative purposes because if you don't chase via live chat, they won't reply! Please refrain from buying any services from this TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL hosting company.

Disabled email and cannot contact anyone to deal with it!

IMPOSSIBLE to submit a ticket or contact anyone. NO phone interaction and they ask you to email your requests....so, what if you have an email that ceases to work? They bought out Island Hosting and have completely disabled the email of an important association. This company seems to be a fraud from what we have experienced. I see a class-action lawsuit coming.

A Shocking Downfall – Stay Far Away From This Hosting Nightmare!

I’ve been a loyal customer of this hosting company for over 20 years. In the past, their service was excellent, support was responsive, and prices were fair.

But after the company was acquired a few years ago, everything went horribly wrong. Support became nonexistent—waiting weeks for a reply is now the norm, and even then, they often ignore the actual issue. To make matters worse, prices skyrocketed without justification.

MY WORST EXPERIENCE:
For over a month, they deactivated ALL my websites, cutting off my business entirely. I sent dozens of emails, begging them to restore my sites. After 30+ days of downtime, they finally replied with a weak excuse about a "server problem" and casually mentioned my sites were back online. No apology, no compensation—just complete disregard for the thousands of dollars in lost revenue they cost me.

As soon as my sites were back, I immediately migrated to a different host and requested account closure. But in true scammer fashion, they want to charge my AMEX card for another year of service—after I explicitly canceled!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They are UNPROFESSIONAL, unreliable, and borderline FRAUDULENT. I’ve never encountered such incompetent and dishonest behavior in all my years online.
RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN !!!
