Mark Bicknell of Finance of America was very knowledgeable and patient answering all my questions and concerns. Doing a Reverse Mortgage was new to me so I had no idea what to expect. I was glad to have Mark work with me and promptly reply to my emails as he had a calm demeanor and helped with unexpected delays and problems.
They have a system in place to do this so it flows in an orderly fashion. Having my mortgage paid off is a good feeling.

My rep, Cory Anderson, guided me through the process start to finish. He's an excellent communicator. Cory made the entire experience easy! Finance of America has all the pieces in place ready for an easy step-by-step reverse mortgage procedure. Impressive! Thank you, Cory and Finance of America!

What went wrong? Everything! The entire process felt very one-sided and heavy handed. I was constantly being told to change various aspects of my household insurance policy. At one point I discovered that the lender identified themselves as a mortgage holder on my property to my insurance company even though nothing had been finalized. I was even told that I would have to “change my mailing address” to match what their records reflected. None of this turned out to be true. The guy that showed up to conduct an appraisal was totally unprofessional. Lastly, after my right to rescind expired, and the lender started to charge interest, I was told that I’d not be able to receive my money because they had lost documentation that I paid to submit. In the end, I received my money. The process was not pleasant. There was no accountability by the lender. Resolving the many issues was always my responsibility. Time will tell if this turns out to be a net positive. Not sure I’d do it again.

Jason was always ready to answer questions from us, he always returned our calls, was very patient with us, and above all, was always willing to help in any way he could, Jason has made sure our remaining years will be worry free. We can never thank him enough!

I enjoyed working with Jeffrey Peters very much and felt confident working with him. Since I have not had any other experience with Reverse Mortgages, it is a little hard to judge as to what constitutes a great company and there are so few of them. I say that my experience with Jeff gave the high rating.
