Don't give reviews via G2; they are a scam. You will not redeem your gift, take care from them and don't waste your time.
Experience with bulk sms has been great
G2 is nonsense website that supposedly verifies your reviews. Absolutely worthless.
Legitimate reviews are not approved due to their idiotic requirements.
I went to G2 to leave a review for my negative Chatgpt experience. Went through their process and submitted my review. Received an email stating my review had been removed because I was a competitor of Chatgpt. Where in the world did the come from? I am retired from the corporate world and make greeting cards to sell! This clownhouse must be run by AI because they obviously don't know their heads from a hole in the ground. I would not trust any review from their site as they are obviously partial to Chatgpt and probably receiving kickbacks.
They ask you to write a review about a software, you spend at least 15 minutes for the questions and you write your review.
Next day, they say " Our moderation team was unable to approve your review because we could not verify your firsthand professional use of the software."
Then why did you email me to write a review about it if you cannot verify my firsthand use?
Everything seems broken with their system.
Scammy experience working with these guys for the second time. I tried to use them as the Marketing Manager at Buildable Custom Software less than a year ago and after submitting all of our information, just could not get anything approved or functioning at all. They kept needing me to "verify information" over and over and after I would do it, nothing would change. Customer support was unable or unwilling to help me with this.
Now I work for another company that uses Oracle NetSuite as our Enterprise Management System. Connected to a training registration, Oracle asked me to submit a review to for a $20 gift card. To my disappointment, that link opened in G2. Nonetheless, I figured I'd give it a try.
Of course, it needed all my information and access to my email, which came with my picture. Then I tried to use the AI which says it will take 3-5 minutes, but the thing kept cutting me off mid sentence. It's summary of my review was atrocious, so I just rewrote it anyway. I clicked the switch to not show my name or image attached to the review an clicked submit. It failed. I did this 5 more times, each one failing. Then I clicked to allow my name and image, submitted, and it immediately worked. SURPRISE!
The next page said that if they select my review and publish it, I will get $20. Nothing stated this criteria beforehand. It just said "submit a review and get a $20 gift card." Now that I've done, there are suddenly requirements to get the money. AND they pretended like I could leave my name and face off but ultimately forced that too.
This is about the worst company I can imagine. They're scamming at both ends - charging companies who use them to collect reviews and them scamming the reviewers by offering spiffs that, no doubt, will never arrive, while collecting all of our data. The poorly functioning AI review tool is a testament to how important their supposedly critical business of collecting reviews is. I doubt that's their primary business at all. Seems like it's collecting information, which they are probably selling.
Just avoid G2. If you're a company looking for somebody to collect reviews, use TrustPilot or somebody else
I am writing this to warn anyone considering Bluehost.com for web hosting. My experience with them has been a complete nightmare, resulting in lost money and a destroyed website.
1. The Initial Charge: I paid Bluehost $143.64 for a 3-year website hosting plan.
2. The Missing Site: I spent a significant amount of time building a complete, 5-page website on their platform. The moment I attempted to take the website live, it completely vanished from my account dashboard.
3. The Ransom Fee: When I contacted customer support to find out where my site went, I was told I had to pay an additional $49.00 just to restore/get access to my own data.
4. Destroyed Data: Left with no choice, I paid the fee. When they finally restored the site, they only returned half of a single page. The other 4.5 pages of my hard work were completely gone.
I attempted to fight this through a month-long credit card bank chargeback process , but due to technicalities in their terms of service, the dispute was denied. They have kept my money, they charged me extra to access my own files, and they ultimately destroyed my website anyway.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR MONEY, YOUR TIME, OR YOUR DATA.
They will hold your hard work hostage and steal your hard earned money from you.
Deceptive platform, totally misleading and unprofessional reward practices!
G2 is extracting high-quality, professional software reviews from users by confirming rewards in writing, and then refusing to pay. I received official confirmation emails from G2 stating explicitly: "Look out for an email from us in the next 3-5 business days to redeem your gift card!" (specifically for my approved Apple iOS and Semrush reviews).
However, when it comes to payout, customer support does absolutely nothing but loop automated templates. For Apple iOS, they claim the card is "already redeemed" in their records, yet I have never received any email link or claimed a single cent. For Semrush, they suddenly claim it was a "charity donation" despite their official confirmation text promising a personal gift card.
This is a complete waste of professional time and a deceptive tactic to get free content. I am publicly sharing this so others know how G2 treats its contributors. My active support ticket is open, and I expect G2 management to honor their written promises immediately.
G2 is horrific. It's nothing like TrustPilot. Unlike TrustPilot where you can actually leave a review, G2 wants all your private information. Information that has NOTHING to do with your review. I am NOT going to let you scrape my private info and sell it!
Very bad because i spend my time and write my genuine reviews my experience, but after some time you didn't approve what is your problems, why you didn't approve ????????
They offer an amount for you to write a review, but then send an email saying that because you weren't one of the first people to respond, they won't pay the amount, yet they keep and publish your review. If they aren't going to pay, they shouldn't publish my review then. Deceptive.
Longtime Capterra advertiser. In September 2026, I discovered Capterra/G2 Digital Markets had increased the minimum spend 3000% without my approval or notice.
I also could not find a way to cancel online or remove the card on file or cancel my account. Phone support was difficult to reach and could not resolve the issue.
I have disputed the charges and sent notice to cancel the service. Here's the email I found (you won't find it or a phone # on their website): help[at]g2digitalmarkets.com
Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend that advertisers closely monitor their billing and account settings, and avoid them altogether.
I used G2 for around six months and submitted genuine reviews based on my firsthand professional experience. My reviews were reviewed, approved, published, and rewarded by G2, and some companies even responded positively to them.
Then my account was suddenly suspended for “suspicious activity” without any prior warning or email notification. I only discovered it when I tried to log in.
G2's own suspension message instructed me to contact them to appeal. I did exactly that, waited 5 days without receiving a response, and then had to find another G2 contact myself.
After appealing, I was simply told that the decision was “final,” without any meaningful explanation of what I had supposedly done wrong or any opportunity to clarify the situation.
Even after the suspension, G2 continued sending me invitations to review new companies.
I had also already earned rewards for my approved reviews, and those rewards were still sitting unused in my account. They are now inaccessible because my account has been suspended. This is not about the monetary value of the rewards. I invested my time and effort, completed the work, and G2 approved and rewarded it.
My time and effort have been wasted, I have been left without a meaningful explanation, and I am now unable to access rewards I had already earned.
This experience has completely destroyed my trust in G2. I no longer want to use the platform or contribute any further reviews.
I have created my G2 account back in 2024 and I reviewed some softwares that time, but for Long time i didnt get any time to review and some days ago i logged in to my account and reviewed some software and the next day my account was banned, how can you ban my verified profile.
I am perplexed how this service is so popular. Adding a service is on here is a NIGHTMARE - it tooks me weeks to get through their process. It is extremely unclear what G2 does and doesn't own, as their domain is used for at least 3 other software directory listings and present the G2 logo on those signups. Eventually I got signed up on their site and setting up a profile is even more of a nightmare, it is extremely unclear where you're supposed to go to edit your page as the entire site is overflowing with pop up ads. When you're on the correct page, oftentimes you can't even get behind the pop up ads to select the fields you need. I use multiple ad blockers and an ad blocking browser and have never experienced a website this miserable and infuriating to navigate. I have used about 10 other software directories and have had 0 of these issues with any of the alternatives.
They are super scammy. Promise incentives for reviews, and then days later let you know for some made up reason you are not eligible for any of the incentives. No human you can contact or communicate with. Would never use them with my business and will never leave reviews for other businesses that use G2 in the future until they fix their mistakes.
Very long surveys that were emailed to me. After filling out with verification that I owned the products, account got suspended. Presumably no rewards as a result of this.
Baits you to review for a gift card, then suddenly say "others reviewed earlier" so you do not get a giftcard. Nothing stated that only the first few get a gift card, not even in the email: wait for the review to get published and get your giftcard! Stupid company, my god.
If the review is overly positive, you get the reward. If it's critical, your review is "not approved".
This is just my experience but I won't waste my time writing reviews any more. The occasional $25 reward (again, only if positive, honesty and time is not rewarded) is not worth it.
