Only 2 year guarantee when part of a new build

Living in a house we purchased brand new 5 years ago, and noting that Glevum proudly state they offer a 10 year guarantee on their windows and doors, when we noticed that our Glevum installed patio door had warped (presumably in the hot weather) and now had a gap which allowed in a draught and also rain when it was windy, we approached them with a request that it was repaired. Seems that Glevum dont provide a 10 year guarantee when its part of a new build, only 2 years. Off to the NHBC it is then to see if we get any more joy with the 10 year guarantee that came with the house.

Rude, condesending and dishonest

Rude, condescending and dishonest. 2 years ago I reported that my new build windows were defected and had gaps all around them. I had reported to the builder who can and did ignore it.
I was promised by Glevum that an inspection of the windows and doors would take place and I waited in for the agreed appointment slot. They failed to show up and failed to give a reason until I asked them why they were not at the appointment. Fast forward and I still have gaps in the windows and doors. I again demanded Glevum to inspect as they were in warranty. They refused. My dog died from breathing in cold air in the house and when I informed Glevum of this they simply said 'we dont care about your issues'. Heartless, nasty and as cold as my house due to their defected product. I have complained as per their complaints procedure and they have ignored this and reminders to investigate. I hope they are shut down and investigated by the regulator. I have escalated my complaint to the correct ombudsman. Avoid at all costs and avoid buying a new build. You will be paying out thousands in legal fees because people like Glevum cannot and refuse to do their job. What kind of window company installs windows that have gaps?!?

Paul from Glevum - Excellent Service

Paul from Glevum came to fix our bi-fold door in the lounge. Best service we have ever had from them over the past four years. Paul was extremely polite and knowlegeable on the bi-fold products. Thank you Paul.

We had new windows and a front door…

We had new windows and a front door fitted by Glevum in 2022. They were fantastic. Worked with me on appointments due to my work schedule, fitting was in the same way. All in what worked with my schedule.

Lots of choices with colours, styles etc.

Had an engineer come yesterday as I felt a ever so slight breeze. All my windows were checked and the 2 that did were fixed straight away.

Fantastic service all round and would recommend to others.

Multi award-winning company...not.

Engineer came to replace a badly scratched window (not their fault) at end of June, engineer replaced pane of glass with one that was covered in over 20 scratches. Demanded they came and replaced the replacement pane of glass. Today engineer came and fitted a new pane of glass. All looked good until about half an hour after the engineer had left. A loud bang was heard and after looking around the pane of glass had cracked. Over the course of the day the crack developed to cover the whole pane of glass. Now got to wait till the start of August for a new pane (pane number 4) to be fitted. Really poor product and service.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. We have a whole house full of Gleavum windows and doors, and a great number of problems. Some have been sorted but more keep arising. Recently blown window panes, apparently they’ll replace them under the warranty but you pay for fitting, several hundred pounds! Further, the customer care team are incredibly rude, obstructive, and seem to play the part of a revenue protection team more than anything else. In short, find somewhere else to get windows from, these guys do not care about you.

There are actually two businesses sharing a domain, name, and vans. The company I’m referring to fitted windows in my new build house - they now want hundreds to replace the blown window). This is operated as a different business, presumably for plausible deniability reasons. My review stands. I would not do business with Gleavum in any form, ever again.

Now November 21

Now November 21, water is leeking through the window again after it supposedly had been fixed! The leak has ruined all my new flooring in the area and is very close to an electrical socket. Currently have a towel on the floor underneath a radiator and a towel on the windowsill with tissue paper stuffed on top.

This is 13 months after the original issue was supposed to have been fixed.

Think again about using this company. Supposed to be the best - not!

Zero stars

Zero stars, text me without stating who they were or what they do, tried to arrange appointments by TEXT what terrible customer service, when stated would be better to call they became rude and less helpful. Finally agreed an appointment BY TEXT. They confirmed the WRONG date, when pointed out their terrible, frustrating lack of sense/service has ended in the wrong date anyway, they finally decided to call me.......to SHOUT AT ME FOR BEING RUDE, to state cancelling appointment and HUNG UP! Without allowing me a word, unbelievable they consider this customer service/care. It's not my fault the window doesn't work!!
Can see why reviews are so bad, steer well clear!

Nice window units and very good after-care service

I chose Glevum because of the experiences of two trusted friends (who were happy with the service and after-care).

When I first enquired to Glevum they calmly talked me through the process, and eventually, when a representative came around to take measurements there was no hint of hard-sell. The price quoted (for my desired frames etc) was around the ballpark figure I had in mind.

Glevum reminded me about the new legislation regarding trickle vents on newly installed windows and I (correctly) followed their advice and had them installed. This extended the wait for the windows to be fitted but was not a problem.

During the installation of one of the kitchen windows, a long crack appeared in the wall just above the top of the widow unit. I took photographs of the crack and sent it to Glevum.

They promptly sent out a tradesman to assess the crack and fill it in (to my satisfaction).

Overall, I can agree with my two friends, both of whom also have had good after-sales service from Glevum windows.

No aftercare outside of warranty

Phoned twice because their initial reaction was not credible. Firstly a receptionist then confirmed by a service engineer that support for their conservatories ceases when the warranty expires.
Additionally the receptionist was of the view that one supplied to the builder would not transfer to the owner.
This is all very naughty.

The best -yeah right! Thank

Well I had specific tilt and turn windows fitted. First an operative broke the inside glass in three places so then had to wait while they ordered replacement. When that was fitted the operative told me it had been fitted wrong. Then couldn’t open the window properly in the second room - told a peice was missing. That is now being fitted next week. Then today - heavy rain and water in the first window where the glass was broken now leaking water from the corner all over the radiator and carpet. Asked for compensation and told windows under guarantee so they will be fixed. Told glevum were the best -yeah right!

VERY BAD - ZERO STARS

We had a conservatory fitted 2 years ago, costing £30k+. Initial issues after fitting about quality of build were dismissed as problems that are part of the style conservatory we had chosen (never mentioned to us when buying), but we felt reassured that a 10 year warranty and what we thought was a good reputation of Glevum would be ok. Several months ago our roof started leaking, absolutely no urgency from Glevum. Poor customer service. No apologies. Long wait to try and get fixed. When work has been done it's been done to a poor standard and created more issues, plus leak still not fixed. The time they allot to service calls is not enough time to complete the work that is needed to be done, so they are rushing and they don't arrive with all necessary parts. Have recently had to chase them several times again and the arrogance and dismissive attitude is appalling. They have taken my money and now really don't care! Am very concerned about the future and longevity of my conservatory. If I could award zero stars I would. Don't be fooled by the sales pitch. Do not use!

Very Happy With Glevum

We had 11 windows and a front door installed by Glevum Windows and were extremely happy with the whole process from start to finish. All of the appointments made to place order and measure up were carried out on the days and times arranged. The fitting of the product was carried out quickly and efficiently with clearing up done at the end of every day and we were very happy with the end result. Great looking windows and door that have reduced noise considerably. Thanks Glevum.

Stay Away

Terrible company. Do not recommend them at all. Take your custom to someone who cares, such as an independent tradesperson.
