Very bad customer service! Shameful treatment
On 8/7 2025 I order a pair of shoes and delivery time within Europe is 3-5 business days on average according to their website. I live in Sweden and it usually takes 3 days for DHL until I receive my packages.
On 10 July the status with DHL is "shipping prepared" and on 11:th changed to "shipped". Now it is 16 July and no package has arrived and no new information from Globetrotter about the package being delayed!
Should the customer have to play detective and chase packages?
So I call Globetrotter and they apparently have no English support? How can you sell within EU and have no English support over phone? And in the chat app they use translation so no meaningful exchange of information and fact seeking can take place.
I explain to customer service that if the shoes do not arrive tomorrow 17/7 there is no point in them getting here as I am going on hiking vacation early morning on 19/7 and will have to buy other shoes before that as not be stranded with old bad shoes.
So I ask customer support to refund me for price of shipping and shoes and then DHL will have to send them back to the store instead. Support asks me to be patient as they can not make an investigation with DHL until Monday!
It is like talking to a wall. What part of vacation Saturday did they not understand? The right thing to do if they were a company that cared about their customers would have been to answer like this:
"I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. What would you like us to do in this unfortunate situation? Would you like to get a refund for your expense so you can go and buy shoes somewhere else in time for your vacation?"
No instead they choose greed and want me to worry about these shoes on my vacation and it will be very interesting to see if they will try to make me pay for return shipping also if they eventually arrive 10+ days after order?
I bought a lot from the Swedish equivalent of Globetrotter "Naturkompaniet" for many years and always thought they were a reliable serious company but I guess in Germany it works differently.
I find it funny how companies rather irritate customers and let then down then fix their problems as fast and convenient as possible and then deal with the shipping companies after instead.
Now I will write a bad review on my experience and others will read it and some will choose other stores instead when they decide where to buy their items. Globetrotter will lose much more money from this then they would have if they fixed my problems instead. So it begs the question is support staff uneducated or is this some policy from higher management?

After ordering a backpack worth 280 euros, the DHL courier left it at a location for which I allegedly gave permission—though I never actually did. The company refuses to take any responsibility for the missing package, claiming that I authorized them to leave it at the drop-off point. If time and reliable shipping matter to you, buy from somewhere else, as this company has no regard for its customers, and the chances of not receiving your purchased goods are high—just like in my case.
Of course, you respond here exactly as your boss instructed, of course you reply to me in German and suggest that I send you an email—something I did a week ago. All of this proves that this is a company that should be avoided at all costs. Unprofessionals who communicate with their clients through automatically generated messages, how pathetic...

After the updates asking for more time I was advised my order had been returned, no reason just returned but a replacement was on its way, repeated attempts to get the new tracking number failed then silence. Don’t even respond now.
I really hoped to add a complete apology, as soon as I submitted my review, they got in touch and asked for the details of the order, then Nothing! You have been warned avoid, avoid, avoid.

The soles on my favorite hiking boots completely came off. Globetrotter's re-sole service returned them to me looking and wearing like new, and a fraction of the cost for new boots. And the process was extremely easy. Super job.

I like the store that there are so many Fjallraven clothing styles which I can’t find anywhere else but I can only place order successfully one time. After the first order, all other orders have been cancelled no matter how many attempts I tried so I gave up. I wish the store can ship to Asia and USA in the future.

I am satisfied with the products, and globetrotter has a customer program that saves you a little money with each deal.
Delivery is great, i live in Denmark and the delivery time is often quicker, than our domestic mailserver.

Would DEFINITELY NOT recommend buying something from this store as I would NOT want to deal with the customer service ever again. Plus, I am now sceptical about the "help" they are giving me.
I am appalled at how my scenario was handled. My boots were no longer waterproof after a year - the sides had already begun to crack and water leaked in.
So I reached out and provided all the information I had, my bank information and pictures. After a year of purchase I did not have the physical receipt, but the boots were still under warranty for three years - I sent them to Germany first from the UK and after they were turned around from customs, travelled to Germany and sent them (again) from within Germany.
At the end of it all, he told me they would not repair my boots because they were an older model made in 2016. He then accused me of not buying these exact pair of boots on that day in the store because "they would not sell a 2016 model in 2020". I was left in the cold - I had no proof that I bought those boots in the store without the physical receipt. The company legally has to have the information in the system for 2-3 years that I purchased those EXACT boots, yet instead of pulling it out of the system or asking someone who could, he chose to accuse me and say I didn't! I cannot even physically get ahold of that information myself without being in Germany to go into the store, nor by calling them; the service line the branch provides goes straight back to the central command system. He knew I was at a dead end.
As a customer, how am I supposed to know that they sold me an older model? I cannot tell the difference between boots sold in 2016 and 2020. And then to use that as an excuse not to take action and fix the boots that are still under warranty? I rely on the trust given by the company to the employees that what they are selling is appropriate for the customer; this leads me to believe that they were taking advantage of me and trying to get rid of older stock. Or, that Andreas was just making up an excuse so he did not have to deal with my case anymore.
Plus, I found that they still sell this model of boots on their website, so what they told me was a complete lie.
I really cannot believe that I had to spend so much money on a pair of boots that did not even last a year.
Absolute disgrace. Would not go here.
