Ever since the merger with Cafeyn, several issues of favoured magazines have not been posted to the app. Was very happy with Readly before the merger. Despite complaining several times, the problems... See more

Terrible since the app redesign. Poor usability and functionality.
Now today, pages aren't loading at all even on the pre-downloaded magazines.

Hugely grateful to the patient and extremely helpful Dahal who has sorted not one but endless problems I have had. Thank you

Took money out of my PayPal without any authorization. I cancelled the free trail back in April and 5 months later had money taken out of my PayPal. Ive tried to email the company twice and no response!!!! Give me my money back.

You can not fault the content, and the price is slightly on the high side; however, the customer service is robotic, so it does not resolve anything just sends the same message
Will never use them again

Yet ANOTHER payment of £25.98 taken from another bank card I have with paypal. I now do not know how to stop this. All I wanted back in March was to see what this was about. Since trying to cancel back in April this has been nothing but bother, hassle and taking money from my account. I have cancelled with paypal and my Santander so they are now taking money from another card. If you see this and are thinking of taking the ‘free trial’ DONT. You have been warned
That is me now closed my paypal account. The amount of hassle this has caused is off the scale.
You shouldnt have been collecting anything at anytime! I have been trying to cancel this one way or another since 2 weeks into my 3 month free trial starting in March! To try and get this nonsense to stop 6 months later I have had to close my paypal account!!

Readly have taken £25.98 from me this month even though I cancelled last month and I can see now they are trying to take another £25.98 in the same month, stay well away!!!!!!

Horrific! No stars more appropriate.
Ordered a Deliveroo and was offered a 2 month free subscription with Readly. Have to subscribe (obviously!) which I did. I don't really read magazines but was interested in the puzzle books. However after logging in, you can't actually type in the screen, so pretty useless having a puzzle book online that you can't complete.
So I cancelled my subscription, had confirmation that I could still use my account for 2 months. I didn't log on as worthless to me, deleted the app, thought that was that.
2 months later, you guessed it, I was charged 12.99 for a month's subscription.
I emailed CS, had a response straight away basically telling me I hadn't cancelled my subscription, which I had. I replied back. Nothing. I emailed the ceo. Nothing.
I have now contacted BBC Watchdog. I totally understand if I had forgotten to cancel my subscription, but I hadn't. This is out and out fraud in my opinion.
If you sign up, beware! Look at the reviews. Rated as Poor. I would suggest less that Poor.
Re response from Readly. Expected cut and paste job, like all the others. I suppose all the same comments on here are due to the fact that you make it so easy to cancel? The arrogance is unparalleled. The case number is 798368. Odd that you can't find it since it's been ongoing since Wednesday?

The system appears unstable, e.g. I have ticked Auto Download for 3 newspapers. Sometimes they download sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they will appear early as usual, sometimes they won’t. The navigation is STILL far too confusing.
My wife said suddenly the app. Is asking her to log in every time.
The value for money is good but the app. could be miles better.

Signed up for a 2 month free trial in april. I never got to use it as the app never let me log into my account. On the website no issues to log in, so tried to email customer service who never returned. When I tried to update the app it was no longer available at my location. So now I could not even cancel my subscription.
Come July, they charge me 13£, I manage to get a hold of customer service that after many back and forths refund me the 13£ and also confirms my cancellation of the subscription.
Come September and they withdrew 26£ from my account even though I don’t have an active subscription! The customer service replies some ridiculous answer that they had informed me about this in early August (before I made contact about the other payment) I have never received anything!
Now they are just ignoring me, wrote to them on instagram and they told me to write them an email, but no reply. I have started a PayPal dispute and will also contact the bank!
It’s robbery! Never got to use it 😳😭
Update! They even tried to withdraw 32£ from my other card connected to PayPal!

Absolutely dreadful service - Avoid at all costs.
Thought I would see how the trial was, it was ok but no longer wanted, the company was attempting to take the monthly fee out at the end. I went on to cancel and the money was taken from my account, cancelled instantly. Asked for a refund and refused.
Avoid
New response received: I cancelled actually on the day it was due to come out and i was still refused a refund, I will be considering a card chargeback.

I cancelled my subscription but they took my money anyway. So I cancelled again and got confirmation this time. They just took 2 amounts of double the monthly payment when I’d already paid for the month. Difficult to deal with and a rip off. Don’t sign up for a ‘free’ trial because you will pay for it with their misleading ways and downright helping themselves to your money at random inflated amounts.

Have used readly for years and it has been easy to cancel subscription and reactivate it when I wanted it. I have done exactly the same as I always do and this time they have taken money and refuse to refund. You might as well we talking to a computer as they send the same email over and over again to every response you send. I will not be using readly again in the future and will ensure my account is deleted.
I only want to see if any changes had happened since the merger as I didn’t like that I couldn’t use app on tablet anymore and the app was rubbish for apple.
Absolutely appalling customer services and services in general now.
The merger really did nothing good for this company! And has gone downhill.
Just to clarify. I did cancel the subscription before the end of the trial. Just your new system obviously made an error and now I am out of pocket for a service I do not want.
And the trial is not just for new customers.

Was previously disappointed, but have signed up again, and the site seems to be improved. Glad to be getting my daily fixes of online reads.

Defunct customer service. Used Readly before takeover for years. Tried to cancel trial period but did not show in my account. Emailed them several times but no sensible or non existent response. Charged for the first subscription. Then by magic my subscription showed up in my Readly account so cancelled straight away as do not trust this company. Now trying to claw back my first months subscription. Probably will have to do a charge back through my bank as getting no response from Readly. Do not sign up. Just received a response to my review from Readly stating you can cancel at anytime and just to email them at Readly. This is not true as I have sent multiple emails and they have ignored them.

I had an issue with my subscription which was resolved speedily by Melody. I am very happy with Readly and have used it since February 2026. The excellent choices of magazines/ newspapers available is perfect

Less than that nobody answers mine
My password is the same as when I first started they say it’s not so I’ve not been able to look at anything

I’m completely new to the app and have been delighted with the range and availability of many of the publications that interest me

Reply from Readly UK
I have, not surprisingly had a response apologising and asking if they can help further. There is no point, because it’s now in the hands of my Bank. They could have reassured me they will not be trying to take the monthly subscription again?

I had an issue which turned out to be a problem from Readly. I was greatly assisted by Melody as it turned out to be complicated and took ages. She kept me informed all the way through over a very long time. I actually never thought it would be fixed but it has been to my complete satisfaction so many thanks Melody, Greta work. Sharon
