I've placed three orders with Haas…

I've placed three orders with Haas Tooling and had two of them go bad. The first was for a birthday present for my son. I paid for the winner's circle that gets free 1 day shipping. It did not ship in one day, and now many months later the transaction still shows as processing, although I did eventually get the order. I demanded my money back on the winner's circle membership.

The second and much more annoying one was a recent purchase. I was looking for some plain bright aluminum geometry APKT 1003 size inserts. A google search showed a HAAS product that looked like the right insert. When the insert arrived it was clearly the wrong size. 1003 is a 10mm length insert. The insert that arrived was nearly double that size. In my opinion paying for ad words to be first in a Google search and pointing people to a totally wrong product is dishonest at best. Worse they don't even list a bright aluminum geometry insert in a 1003 size. My regular industrial supplier like MSC and MCMaster would absolutely make it right, pay return shipping and refund me 100%. HAAS charges a 20% penalty and does not refund shipping either. Maybe it was partly my fault. Since the listing doesn't actually show any standard size I suppose I should have dived into the inscribed circle and other dimensions to double check. Sadly, HAAS also wants me to shut down the shop and drive into town to drop off the return. At first I printed a sign that says HAAS LAST and stapled it to the wall behind one of my machines with the bag of inserts stapled over top of it, but then I decided to ship them back (sign is still up) in a priority mail envelope, and see what happens. If HAAS doesn't find another way to jerk me around and waste my time I might upgrade them to three stars, because... see next paragraph.

My third order from HAAS was the okay. It arrived next day, and appears to be what I actually ordered.

CONCLUSION: If you buy tooling from HAAS make darn sure its the correct item, and while their Winner's Circle program worked twice, it didn't work the first time.

NOTE: I don't know if they all are, but it appears on review that HAAS' inserts are made in China. If you are okay with Chinese inserts just order them on eBay or Amazon direct from China.

UPDATE: A few days later. The listed mailing address appears not to be valid, or they refused my shipment. Not sure. Downgraded to one star. See "Return to HAAS" on "Bob's Workshop" on Rumble for my final return to Haas.

How are they rated 2 stars when 100% of reviews are 1 star

How does Trustpilot have this company at 2.3 stars when 100% of the reviews are 1 star? The math aint mathing. I placed an order, and now every time I try and check on the order, it just says server error. If I try to log into their website, it says my account doesn't exist, even though I am staring at my order email receipt.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HAAS TOOLING

DO NOT ORDER FROM HAAS TOOLING. This company will not honor what their own website states when you purchase something. I made the mistake of selecting a tool for millimeters, instead of inches. I called the company twice, all within 15-30 minutes of making the order online. I also sent them two support tickets of which I got an automated response to. I called them at 4:30pm, who knew at 4:30pm the service lines would be so insanely backed up someone could not place an order. This is just pure laziness by someone named “Chanel”. If a customer spends $120 of their own hard earned money to buy something from you and they make an honest mistake; YOU FIX IT. Seriously these guys suck, avoid them like the plague. There are waaaaay better tools on Amazon, and if you mess something up you can actually cancel it right away. With HAAS you’ll be given excuse after excuse as to why they cannot and will not change your order…. EVEN THOUGH the website states you are allowed to change within an hour! GUESS ITS HARD TO JUST DO YOUR JOB THESE DAYS.

Haas CNC mill controls

Haas CNC mill controls, an absolute nightmare.
Typically, why would you do it easy, when you can do it difficult, well, let's say, terrible.
What a total piece of junk this machine is.
And so easy Haas blames it on your programming, well, its just sad.
So sorry that I went for their extensive advertisements.

We own 8 CNC mills not all Haas

We own 8 CNC mills not all Haas. When one of the older mills when down and needed to be replaced we went with Haas as we had good luck with the older Haas we had. We bought a 2024 VF2 delivery was on time but this is where everything went to hell. Almost three weeks to have a tec to set the machine up. The y axis quit working in the first two weeks then two weeks to fix. Three weeks later the machine would not turn on after running for two hours transformer not producing the correct voltage to the VFD. We have now had the machine 3 months and axis lubrication system keeps sending out codes and shuts the machine down.

Brand new UMC 750 Pallet pool Problems

We had just purchased a brand new UMC 750 with the 10 +1 pallet pool system arrived beginning of July. it took them all month to put it together with three different tech guys coming out to work on it. After they were done I started to work on it and found the following problems.
1. Can not peck drill more than 25 pecks. does not matter what drill cycle you use G83 or G73.

2. With the DWO on, the machine reads to turn off cutter comp and slows down to a snails pace then goes back up to original feed rate it was programmed for after it finishes the comped move.

3. Newer software does not work as well as the older software. had to down rev the newer software in order to get programs to work sufficiently.

4. Pallet pool switches quit working after two full days of use.

Horrible

Horrible, horrible CNC lathe control. Stay as far away as you can from any machine after 2017 with the "NGC" (next gen. control). Features some of the most annoying safety controls that any qualified setup personnel doesn't need to or want to deal with. Who needs to close the door for every turret index, or be limited to 500 RPM with the door open, or have MDI that really isn't MDI?? Haas fails to realize the needs of truly qualified CNC setup personnel and completely misses the mark with their "NGC"!!
If you enjoy annoying little things like that, then maybe this is ok for you. For a few bucks more, get yourself a Doosan with Fanuc, you'll thank me later.
