I was disappointed in my recent travels on Hawaiian Airlines. Hawaii itself was magnificent as always. The airline had poor customer service, disinterested baggage people, high fees for checking i... See more

Unnecessarily uncomfortable seats and…
Unnecessarily uncomfortable seats and rude staff. Never again!
Hawaiian has no more Aloha
I fly from Oahu to the neighbor islands on business and usually if I get finished with my job early I will see if there is another flight I can take home. They usually get me in no problem. But since the Alaska purchase they want to charge me an extra $50 on top of my $300 inter island fare. Hawaiian has no more Aloha.
I took a flight from JFK to Honolulu
I took a flight from JFK to Honolulu
Food was horrible. Seating space was below par.
Plane was old. Broken tray tables.
It was like flying in a time traveling machine but backwards.
IFE old with 90’s to 2000 movies.
Corporate greed is destroying airlines all over the US.
Greedy
Greedy, outdated and poorly operated company that no other airline from a mainland wants to be apart. inter island flights jacked with insane prices for resident of HI.
Avoid Hawaiian…
I flew first class with Hawaiian Airlines from Honolulu to LAX. Upon arrival, my nearly new aluminum Samsonite case was severely damaged, with a wheel smashed off. I filed a claim at the airport, and though I was told they’d follow up, no one did. I had to repeatedly call over days, waiting hours on hold. I got conflicting instructions—first told to buy a replacement for reimbursement, then asked for repeated proof despite the airport’s own documentation. U.S. law requires airlines to cover such damage, and this runaround was unacceptable. Despite promises of a temporary case or resolution, nothing has happened. I will replace it myself, and if not reimbursed, I’ll pursue further action. This experience has been disappointing, and I cannot recommend Hawaiian Airlines.
Complete BS
I’ll save you the aggravation and just tell you “Do NOT fly on Hawaiian or Alaska Airlines!”
I would not recommend flying Hawaiian…
I would not recommend flying Hawaiian Airlines. Yesterday our flight was supposed to depart at 823 however it didn’t take off till after 930 almost half way through our flight they turned the plane around due to left engine issues that they supposedly fixed before take off. Came back to SFO they gave us a night hotel gave a voucher for 48 dollars that can only be used at one resultant and has to be at the airport. Not to mention all the kids including mine crying we were almost half way there would it have made a difference if we kept flying. When asking how to get reimbursed for our expenses there was a run around still haven’t gotten a straight answer. Came back this morning for a flight at 10 am and now it is delayed till 11 am. Honestly I fly a lot but this flight/trip from hell never again will we fly Hawaiian Airlines. If anyone needs actually knows how to get compensation for our hotels rental car parking please let me know because this had been the most horrific experience for my son and I.
Late take off
First time using this airline and very disapointed. First we were very late on take off with no explanation to begin with and then had to pay for our beveridges. You would have thought this would have been complinmentary. 6 hour flight and we got a cheese sandwich and beveridge.
This was the worst experience that I…
This was the worst experience that I have had with an airline in a while. At the HNL airport, the electronic check-in did not work for most people, so we had to wait in a 45-minute line to check our bags. This occurred for most people checking in. Of course, the plane was late. Upon arrival, we waited for our bags for two hours. The person in charge was nice but overwhelmed and gave conflicting information about what happened and when, or if, our bags would arrive. Finally, we were told that they did not know where our bags were, but if we wrote down our names, addresses, and baggage information, then they would send it to our homes. However, they never followed up with me. When I called the help line, Hawaiian Airlines would just say they couldn't help and give me alternate numbers that were never answered.
Just a desaster after the merger
Just a desaster after the merger. Must be a very bad management from Alaska
Both outgoing and return flights delayed
Both our outgoing flight (SEA - HNL) and return flight were delayed. The first flight for 10am was on-time until we got to the gate. Then after a lot of back and forth it became "indefinitely delayed". I booked a flight on a later flight so we didn't leave SEA until 5PM. Which means we lost a day on the beach. I had paid extra for better seats but didn't get them on either flight. I am not sure what happened and was too fed-up to ask. The staff, attendants, etc. were very nice. They did give $15 vouchers for lunch. But, I am not sure I will fly this airline again. I will stick to Alaska.
Committed and reliable customer service
I flew with my family from Sydney to Maui with transit in Honolulu. When arrived at Honolulu, one bag was missing. We claimed the missing bag at our final destination Maui. Hawaiian Airlines took all necessary information and told us that the bag would be delivered in our apartment. Tbh, we had very low faith to get our bag back. I kept receiving automated emails “we keep searching for your luggage” and believed it was lost. Till someone know on the door at 7pm “Hi Sir, here is your bag”. Only 48h later. Amazing! Hawaiian Airlines gained my confidence.
I’m from Europe and can tell that this would have taken more than 2 weeks to locate a bag and another week to get it back.
Thanks Hawaiian Airlines for committing to get our missing luggage back.
Worst experience I've ever had
This is the worst airline I have ever flown with. Everyone I came in contact with was rude and trying to just get checked in was terrible. Choose ANY other airline if you can
I flew Hawaiian Airlines Flight HA 904…
I flew Hawaiian Airlines Flight HA 904 from Honolulu (HNL) to San Diego (SAN) on January 10 and the experience was extremely disappointing. Hawaiian Airlines charges you just for the option to select a seat, and then charges again for the seat you actually select, which feels like a blatant rip-off. On top of that, the aircraft was outdated, the seats were uncomfortable, and the food was poor quality and absolutely not worth the price. For an airline that markets itself as premium or hospitable, the value simply isn’t there. I would not recommend Hawaiian Airlines.
Took an hour before our luggage came…
Took an hour before our luggage came out at baggage claim in Hnl (from Seattle on Jan 12).
The first bag cane out after 45 min wait.
And they completely ignored the RED PRIORITY tags on luggage for 1st class passengers
Horrible baggage handling and logistics
Scheduled to travel from Seattle to…
I90Scheduled to travel from Seattle to Honolulu on HA 899 at 9:55 AM. It is now 4:30 pm and they have delayed it again till 6 pm. They rescheduled 3 times in one day with no explanation. I have lost a complete day of our family vacation and it is still up in the Air!
I will avoid anything operated by this Airline. As I understand, Alaska and Hawaii airlines have merged but the merger has not worked. I hope Akaska operated flights have not suffered by this merger but the reviews tell me they have. I have been flying Alaska for over 20 years.
I will switch to Delta or Southwest for any Hawaii flights from now on. Please Do not fly Hawaiian. They are rude and inconsiderate and do not offer much in terms of rebooking or upgrades or future vouchers.
Hawaiian Airlines has gotten bad
Hawaiian Airlines' flight to the destination is great, with TV and two seats, but the flight back was one of the worst experiences. No TV 5 plus hours flight 3 seat I was in the middle of two oversize people I had no room and felt so uncomfortable. What happen why is the way home so bad like why is it more accommodating traveling there but not back especially for longer flights!!! Horrible
Travelling with Surfboards
The only airline I can get my longboard on with no hassles and no damage.
Consumer Wallet Raping and Discriminating Business model
edging close to “platinum” tier. Oy, Hawaiian and Alaska work in tandem to deny/shelve onto the other, their responsibilities and promises via paid membership rewards program. A week or so back now, i purchased a one way ticket that equates to 4000+ miles over three flights. Hawaiian always makes you purchase what Alaska promotes and gives for free at the time of booking. As Alaska failed to reserve promised seating. This trip in question was canceled within an hour of original purchase, and rebooked at a cheaper fare. However, at that time. Hawaiian CSR suggested additional seat costs would roll into new flight from the canceled flight. This was untrue. Second CSR from Hawaiian did confirm that first CSR was incorrect. Though the second CSR also gave out incorrect information. CSR suggested that I would get a refund just as I got a refund on Alaska purchase, and that I should wait for the process to take hold. Well, it did not. 3rd attempt of resolution with CSR straight up told me that they were going to keep the money taken but could file for refund. Again, I have flown quite a bit these last few months, since summer. Always the same lackluster production for the hype of how committed these and or this company promotes and promises. Seats are too small for anybody over 5 foot and 120 pounds to seat safely and in a healthy manner for long flight durations over 2 hours with then forcing consumers wallets open for seats that then the funds are withheld as nonrefundable on the power of the person that is handling the request aka truest form of discrimination against some to favor the few policy and history. I have close to 20 years of utilizing Hawaiian airlines as i have been a resident of hawaii county since 2006. Equipment is quite often dirty and filthy. Given the element of prestige which is merely promoted in words and not actions. If you are looking for a company that abuses power in the name of greed. This airline is for you. Otherwise, they no care.
Hawaiian Airlines was my favorite way…
Hawaiian Airlines was my favorite way to go home and visit family and friends on different islands. Their website was super easy to navigate. Since their merge with Alaskan Airlines I’m pretty sure I won’t fly with them in the future. But my last flights were perfect.
