Non existent customer service.

Non existent customer service.

In 2011, I used YouSendIt to send some photos to a friend, you upload it to YouSendIt and a link is provided, you click on the link and it takes you to the file.

Fast forward 15 years: I lost all my photos so I wanted a copy of that, I found the link in my email, clicked on it, and it redirected me to Hightail's homepage, saying that YouSendIt is now Hightail. Fine. Not a problem.

The problem is their customer service, or total lack of any.

I sent them an email to ask if their old YouSendIt links are still accessible, for example some sites might have them archived in their admin but front end customers can't see it.

I received a copy-paste generic reply telling me customer support is only for paying customers and directed me to pay or post in their forum for general questions. They didn't answer my actual question at all. I was annoyed, but fine, I email them back with my question.

Then they replied to me a second time with the EXACT same copy paste spiel telling me that support is for paying customers only etc etc.

Now I am annoyed. So I email them back a second time, clearly stating that I am NOT a customer of Hightail (which came later) but I WAS a user of YouSendIt, and all I want to know is whether the files in the old YouSendIt links can still be accessed; I am not going to PAY just to get an answer (especially a 'no' answer) to this question.

Hightail replies a THIRD time with the SAME information.

Now I am mad.

Over the course of a week, they sent me repeated copy paste responses that didn't even answer my pre-sale question, and instead reiterated that customer support is for paying customers only. I was asking a question about something from the past, yet they are making me pay for help with a future product I may or may not get, in the present. If I pay and then would be able to get access to those photos, then great, tell me and I will sign up. But instead, I just get repeated copy paste robot answers.

I give up. They have either robots, or a total lack of customer service. At this point, I would not recommend anyone to pay to use them.

A must have!

Ordered hightail a few months ago. Was abit of a nightmare to get it imported into the UK but the hightail team were really on top of it and didn't give up until it arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. I followed all of the installation advice and guidance from the hightail team and my hightail is still functioning as good as it was the day it was fitted. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit and would recommend to anyone

Hightail ruined with update

They have changed hightail no it is a disaster to use. it was simple and straight forward uploading to folders and sending to users it really was great, now they have changed it to spaces and you cannot upload to your old folders ? why make it difficult...not happy!

It used to be good

It used to be good. But without proper testing, bad planning or quality control they released an update in Nov 2024 that broke the mobile experience. It seem as if they are limited on engieering resources and are unable to fix this anytime soon. Its been 5 months. Its such a shame that they did this to themselves.

Recurring charges after cancelled subscription

This complaint is about Hightail, can be found at hightail.com.

After cancelling my annual subscription of $159.99, they restarted the subscription the following year without my knowledge and resumed charging my credit card.

In Nov 2020, after a couple of years of this, I noticed it and cancelled the subscription again.

Now, today, I noticed I was being charged again and when I look to past statements they’ve been charging me since 2021!!!

When a subscription is cancelled. The buyer assumes it will stay cancelled. Very shady!!

Hightial.com was great until recently

I tried it on several internet provider platforms, "Edge", Google Chrome and Firefox. SAME problem everywhere. I tried to reach out - no reply.

Beware: This Company is No Longer Reliable

I've been using Hightail to send large files for years, but I have lately had persistent problems. First, their Express app stopped working, so I started sending files directly from their site. Then that stopped working too....I tried two different browsers and followed all the troubleshooting steps. I contacted customer service and discovered that they now send out computer generated replies with the same info over and over, even when I send detailed e-mails with screenshots. I'm fed up. This service is no longer reliable and does not care about its paying customers.

I never knew what Hightail was until I…

I never knew what Hightail was until I started working with a company who uses it. I happen to like that the files that I need most are always there and updated with the newest material. All of that is coming from a not so tech savvy individual. I also love how they’re always putting seminars together and inviting other to join with them to learn from one another. It’s just like one big happy family.
