Unfortunately we didn’t read the reviews before we had a problem. When we arrived at Copenhagen airport we got a message that the hotel didn’t accept our card, we changed and tried to called but no one answered. They canceled the hotel booking, and the hotel immediately put the room back up for booking.

Very mixed experience

Very mixed experience.

I booked directly on the website which was easy enough. A week before arrival, payment still hadn't been taken from my card, so I rang them just to double check if everything was OK with my booking. I was concerned having read about other guests having their bookings cancelled. I rang around 10am, midday, and 4pm DK time. No one picked up the phone during the day. At 4pm a rather brash sounding man picked up the phone and said there is no reception service after 3pm (then why are you picking up the phone at 4pm? Also the website states there is a reception service from 8am to 3am? Whatever). He spoke to me as if I was a complete idiot because I didn't know the intricate details of their booking system.

Either way, arrival day came around and I was there at exactly the expected time. It took a while for someone to assist me but they were perfectly polite and friendly. However, once I had lugged my belongings to the second floor, my key card wasn't working. I stayed for three days / two nights and this was a problem EVERY SINGLE TIME I went out and came back to the hotel. Several times per day. I would lug my shopping, scalding hot coffee etc. to the second floor with my bad knees, and the bloody key card would fail. This was, quite frankly, a huge negative overall. Deeply impractical for everyone involved. This is also completely fixable - I have worked in short term accommodation, I do understand electronic key systems and they are not this difficult to use. Please, please, please sort this out for good. The very last day, the person on reception was so snooty when I was once again unable to enter my room - the fault is entirely the hotel's so please don't give people attitude when they ask for your help to rectify. That just makes the problem a thousand times worse.

Regarding the room, it was exactly as described. A small single room with windows towards the back and own bathroom. Wooden floors and a tiled bathroom with walk in shower. A TV, bit of hanging space for coats etc., a large towel, a hands soap and a shampoo/shower gel provided. The bathroom was quite clean, as was the room and bedding, although there were some pretty decent dust bunnies under the bed. Another 30 seconds of hoovering would have sorted this but overall it wasn't an issue. I thoroughly enjoyed the room and the facilities, it was quiet, there were no issues getting to sleep, the bed was comfortable etc.

I so wish that there hadn't been such a snooty response from reception both on the phone prior to arrival and when I, for the third day in a row, had to ask for help with my key card. It would have really suited the staff to show a slightly better and perhaps more helpful attitude.

I have to remove one star for staff attitude and one for the frustration of constant issues with key cards. Sorry. Other than these two things, everything was absolutely fine.

I didn't eat there so have no idea if the food would be any good.

Really really dirty

Really really dirty. Lots of long black hairs on the bedsheets, Don”t think they have been changed for at while. No ekstra toiletpapir anywhere and only a little left when we checked in. A t-shirt from a previous guest was left on one of the beds. Cheap - only reason for one star in stead of none
