Astounding behaviour

Just astounded by my short interaction with Hunters Abbots Wood yesterday. From the moment a male employee took my call, his tone was aggressive, demanding budget information, argumentative and most unpleasant. I had no intention of telling him my highest budget limit. I just hope the Sellers understand the type of service that they are getting from their agent. I am a cash buyer, liked the photos of their property but, on account of the reception I received on the call, the Sellers will never get to hear my Offer.

Avoid!!

Avoid! These agents are age discriminate and tell lies! we applied for a house that THEY didn't believe we were suitable for!! So upon handing in our application, they told us to wait a week to hear about the outcome, which was clearly stalling for time so someone older and "more suitable" applied. I'm not used to being judged like that! And I'm 26, not a child!! I'm absolutely furious and will be seeking legal advice.
Also the agent doing the viewing was 20 minutes late! Also she was rude and abrupt, and the fees were absolutely extortionate! £150 for the first tennant and £90 for others! And a further £100 to draw up a basically generic tenancy agreement, Obviously these guys are sooo upper class and their time is extremely valuable!
I advise anyone (especially people under 50) to avoid these agents at all costs.

Also changed their Facebook page so my negative review wouldn't show up! Absolute swindlers! As dishonest as they come!

Like pulling teeth...

I was recently involved with Hunters as they were the estate agents selling a house I was interested in and I have to say the experience was poor from start to finish.

Right from the beginning, customer service was disappointing at best with no consistency in how professional and courteous the staff member was, with some clearly far more knowledgeable and experienced than others. Sadly, I seemed to deal with a different staff member almost every time I called, many of which claimed to be new and within a training period. Some of these members of staff I never spoke to again, leading me to summarize that there seemed an unusually high turnover rate.

Further to this point, staff members were very lax in returning calls and answering queries, sometimes even claiming they didn't recall previous conversations. On multiple occasions I was given incorrect, incomplete and inadequate information regarding the property in question, yet at no point did Hunters seem apologetic or eager to rectify the situation, often denying all knowledge or refusing accountability by blaming another staff member, the solicitors or the vendors.

As a result of the constant difficulties and delayed communication, a process which should have taken roughly 6 weeks limped on for 4 months. The service was abysmal.

I have to note, one particular management level staff member did seem very knowledgeable and experienced yet sadly we only had the pleasure of dealing with her once and that was after complaining forcefully on multiple occasions.

My overall conclusion is that Hunters will rent a house for or to you and they will sell a house for or to you but don't expect an easy pleasant transaction. You'll get there in the end, but you'll have to prompt and complain, every single painful step of the way.

Keep away from this company. Aka "HUNTERS"

They are lying on every step. Changing price of the flat without notification. Trying to Get every single penny out of me. Lying about condition of the flat. Did not showed me a contact (even though I asked them) which I was about to sign before paying £300 (not refundable in case of not signing the contract).

Very poor service

I rented a property via hunters for a year, I was told the garden would be finished when I moved in and 12 months later this had not even been started. Staff in sheffield crookes are rude and unprofessional. The manager Caroline is a vile woman who has no customer skills whatsoever, you ring up and they never get back to you. When it came to moving out Caroline denied Al knowledge of me renting from them and refused to issue met deposit. I went above her direct to the deposit scheme and received a full refund. They lied about my move in date also and basically took my money and made no attempt to get ghe garden sorted out. I have emailed and wrote letters and recieve no answer the staff are mostly Young and under skilled. Very very poor service mainly due to the manager Caroline who always seems to be eating her lunch whenever you go in. Horrible damp house. Shocking service. They owe me £500 for the garden not being finished as I was paying for this. Oh well I got my full deposit back and thankfully do not have to deal with these clowns again.
