Cancelled my order without telling me!!
Bought and paid for my kitchen, only to have them cancel parts of my order and not tell me, multiple items were cancelled and re-ordered after changing a delivery date - which was unnecessary in the first place, they cancelled an order for sold out items, did not tell me i had to repurchase them, my installation is coming up and now i don't have the kitchen i paid for! Extremely disappointed and frustrated with this experience!

Starting off we where told that if Ikea was going to install our kitchen. We would need to pay for a profesional measuring session which we did. Then after the session we returned and we were told Ikea would not install the kitchen we wanted and that we would have to get thrid party installers.
Next the kitchen we still ordered from Ikea was delivered with a defective fridge. When trying to return the fridge, customer service has been unhelpful and poor.
While asking about a clear error with their app I was treated rudely. The app clearly shows items are sold in a pack off two but instore we only found a single item at the same price we were treated rudely and not helped at all.
Lesson learnt if you want something that sounds easy use Ikea, if you want quality and something that is actually easy use anyone else.

I had such high hopes when I ordered my kitchen from IKEA, wanting exactly what I saw in their display. I trusted their designers when I said I wanted the same black cabinets. Instead, without any warning, I ended up with cheaper white cabinet interiors—something I never agreed to. I even had a microwave that was supposed to fit, but it didn’t. They told me countertops would be installed in 7 days—but that turned into over a month. In reality, I was left without a sink or countertop for more than two months. The stress, the broken trust, and the lack of care from a company I thought I could rely on has been deeply upsetting. I expected a smooth process, and instead, I was left with disappointment every step of the way.

Extremely disappointed with IKEA’s delivery service and customer support.
Our kitchen was due to be delivered on Saturday 13 June. After not receiving an updated delivery timeslot, we contacted customer services twice and were assured that the order was out for delivery and would arrive that day. I even took a day off work to be available.
After waiting all day, we called again and were finally told that the kitchen had never been loaded for delivery due to an internal mistake. We have now been told the earliest delivery date is Tuesday, which has delayed our kitchen installation and caused significant inconvenience.
The customer service we received was also poor, with staff being unhelpful and dismissive when we tried to understand what had happened.
The lack of communication, incorrect information provided throughout the day, and disruption caused have left us extremely dissatisfied. This is not the level of service I would expect from IKEA.

So disappointed with the way Ikea are misleading their customers with their "25 year" warranties on kitchens. It turns out my 2 year old kitchen is starting to fail on a few doors and amazingly this kitchen is now discontinued so I can't get any replacement doors or drawer fronts??? So the warranty is completely useless and Ikea don't care that I spend £5k on their units and doors thinking I was covered should I come across a problem. I wish I had never used them.

My experience with IKEA's kitchen installation service has been nothing short of a nightmare.
What should have been a straightforward kitchen installation turned into months of delays, contradictory information, missed expectations, and a complete lack of accountability. The first installation team visited in February and claimed that only a few tiles needed to be removed before they could proceed. We immediately completed the requested work and waited nearly two months for the next appointment. When the second team finally arrived, they did absolutely nothing and informed us that, contrary to what we had previously been told, all the tiles had to be removed and electrical outlets relocated.
This shocking level of miscommunication between IKEA's installation teams caused significant delays and unnecessary expenses. We followed every instruction given, only to discover later that those instructions were incomplete or simply wrong.
To make matters worse, after months of waiting and repeated attempts to obtain assistance, IKEA failed to provide any practical solution. I received no meaningful response to my formal complaints, despite the serious disruption caused. Living abroad, I had to purchase flights and reorganize my schedule multiple times in an attempt to oversee the project. The property was already rented out, creating additional financial losses due to the delays.
Eventually, because of the urgency of the situation and IKEA's inability to complete the job, I was forced to hire independent carpenters and plumbers at my own expense to finish the installation. These professionals immediately discovered further issues, including missing installation instructions, missing accessories required for assembly, and missing structural components needed to properly complete the kitchen.
The apartment was also left in a disorderly condition after IKEA's previous visits, adding further frustration to an already unacceptable situation.
The most insulting part of this entire experience came at the end: after months of inconvenience, additional costs, wasted time, poor communication, and a kitchen installation service that IKEA never actually completed, the company offered compensation of only €120 — not even as a cash refund, but as an IKEA store voucher.
Offering a €120 voucher after causing months of delays, forcing customers to hire external professionals, incur travel expenses, and suffer financial losses demonstrates a complete lack of respect for customers and no real understanding of the consequences of IKEA's failures.
This has been by far the worst customer service and installation experience I have ever encountered. I would strongly advise anyone considering IKEA's installation services to think very carefully before proceeding.
Updated Following IKEA's response: I would like to clarify that I have already contacted the phone number provided. After waiting on hold for more than an hour, the only resolution offered was the voucher that is the subject of my complaint, with no alternative solution proposed.

Horrible, horrible experience. Their delivery and assembly service is a joke. I am in Italy, bought a whole kitchen, appliances included. The very same day of the delivery, two hours within the time range they said they would come, all of a sudden they messaged that the delivery was cancelled. No explanation, no solution, nothing. Just a message that I should wait for them to call me to establish a new date. I crossed the Atlantic ocean to have this kitchen delivered. I can't wait for ever Ikea. I have been reading so many negative comments, what a track record. Incredible you are so successful.

Having bought my kitchen cupboards and doors over a month or so I have twice asked why I have to pay to pick up my kickpanels simply because the 2 stores, both 90 minutes away from me, never have them in stock, even samples to view. No answers whatsoever. Customer Service just doesn't exist at IKEA in Italy
Ho ricevuto un messaggio che mi informava che mi avete chiamato, ma purtroppo nella zona in cui vivo e lavoro non c'è copertura sufficiente per le chiamate. Mi avete chiesto un indirizzo e-mail e ve l'ho fornito.

If I could do zero stars I would. Ikea and Pacifica should not be selling kitchens.
Fridge freezer broken, months to be repairs for the smallest fix, oven not working for months and when the "engineer" came to fix he told me to just keep pulling the pin out
Honestly what a joke especially as I have a children to feed and I have to rely on a airfryer as Ikea couldn't provide a fixed oven and refused to send out a working oven.
When we try to complain ikea refuses to take any responsibility but very quick to take out money. They refuse to talk to each other and use us as the middle man. Its a joke. Do yourself a favour DO NOT BUY A KITCHEN FROM IKEA!!!!!!!

I am a customer of IKEA since 40 years. Practically all my furniture, kitchen, bathrooms are IKEA. Bought in Germany, Switzerland and Hong Kong. I've always been satisfied and happy about the customer service there if needed. Now I am a customer of IKEA Italy and the way the customers are being treated there is just without words. There is actually NO customer service at all and I wonder why that is so?? Does IKEA not have international standards? As I did not get any help from IKEA Italy, I contacted Germany and Switzerland and both confirmed that my defect electronic device would be taken back by IKEA if I was there. But IKEA Italy keeps saying "contact the producer, it's none of our business". While the producer claims it is not his product and I should contact IKEA to find the right producer. It's become a cat that bites its own tail :-( As IKEA gave me several numbers of producer repair hotlines that all said it was not their product, hence they cannot take it for service or under guarantee ... IKEA Italy when I call them let me explain the situation, then let me wait in the line for around 10 min. and then they cut the line. Happened several times already and when I drive to the next IKEA, which is 60 km away, what I did already twice, they say that they cannot help, I even brought back the product to return it (because once I was told by the IKEA hotline to do so) and same thing, they say they do not take back electronic devices and I should call the producer, and keep on giving me the same numbers I called before where I was told it was not them producing it .. Where is help I ask myself?

Always a very bad experience with returns. IKEA customer services, specifically returns are very difficult to deal with. Anytime i have to return an item the returns team pore over said item looking for some excuse to deny the return. It has happened in the past and it happened this time too.
They get really nitpicky and find the smallest thing to deny a return on. I suspect they are given colleague points on how many returns they can deny.
I was considering getting our new kitchen from there, but if IKEA customer services are so bad with small stuff I can only imagine what they must be like when trying to get them to correct a big mistake.

No customer service. They did not mount the wardrobe even if I paid for that, 50% of the kitchen was mounted only even if I paid for the measurements and checks. Still waiting for customer service feedback. You pay a lot for very low quality. Definitely not recommended.

Ikea kitchens- DO NOT FALL FOR IT! 9.000£ spent and we are on 7th week of the kitchen which ment to be done in 7 days! Design team in Sheffield branch really good nothing to complain about however kitchen team which now apparently is moved out of stores to one location shocking! They told us kitchen we choose is being discontinued so we will have issues with sustaining all the parts so we redesign all and choose different product. Take a guess... we are still waiting for missing cubets and it's 7 weeks since first delivery! They sent wrong oven £200 cheaper than the one we've paid for! Kitchen counter came damaged 4 times this delayed whole project by weeks again! We still waiting by the way... as simple thing as handles where missing back ordered! Kitchen fitting team coming whenever they want but not when scheduled! There's no complain team I've tried trust me! I've been told they do not monitor their emails which is a absolute joke! If you are ringing kitchen team (because that's what they will direct you to do) you on hold for 40 min and they still can't help you! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING WE ARE STARTING PROCEDURES WITH TRADING STANDARDS AS NO OTHER ROADS TO TAKE, DO NOT TRUST THEM! DO NOT BUY FROM IKEA! And merry Christmas to us from IKEA without kitchen!

I’ve spoken with four different kitchen designers and not one understood our requirements. Service from the supplier and the templaters has been poor throughout, they even removed our breakfast bar without any consultation.
I’ve spent about two full days on hold in total and been hung up on multiple times. I’ve dealt with roughly ten customer service reps; each spends ~20 minutes reading notes and then says they’ve “sent an email to the supplier,” and nothing changes - no updates, nothing,
We still don’t have a properly finished kitchen, the worktop is chipped/poorly fitted, and the promised re-templating hasn’t been actioned.
Avoid this company. For your sanity, go to Howdens.

I returned a product that was part of my kitchen project, which was paid for through financing. It has now been three months, and IKEA has still not processed the adjustment to close my original financing plan and open a new one reflecting the €600 refund for the returned product. The communication from IKEA has been extremely poor and inconsistent throughout these three months and it is still not copmleted.

Went into new Ikea in Chester on second day of opening and needed to return done kitchen door hinges and enquire about correct ones for an old kitchen. It was super busy and didn’t expect that the staff would know the answer to my question (wrongly assuming they wouldn’t have a clue due to store being brand new). I was wrong and eat humble pie. I can’t remember the ladies name but she clearly knew what she was talking about and gave me some great advice about how to solve my problem. Thank you

Honestly, the worst experience I had in my life.
I would not recommend purchasing anything from IKEA that requires accountability and responsibility - they have none of it. IKEA might be cheap - but you get low quality, and the followups will cost you even more - so it's not that cheap in the end.
Their customer support is useless and untrained. Their accountability for their faults is negative (we spent 3 months, and over 30 calls in order to repair the stove). We could not make food for three months because they did not install the kitchen correctly, and they have not even agreed to compensate us.

Hi, we ordered a kitchen from Ikea Italy for our new home. Since we needed it urgently, we had to choose the HANSBYN worktop finishing strip material that was in stock, not our first choice. The kitchen was installed in May 2025 and, when excluding our summer holiday, has only been used for about 1.5–2 months. By August, the HANSBYN skirting already showed black stains, which started behind the sink and are now spreading even towards the side without the sink. We contacted Ikea customer service, sent the requested photos and videos, but by October there is still no reply or solution. It’s a kitchen countertop and contact with water is inevitable. My concern is that the same material is used for the countertop itself, and the rot could spread further. I strongly advise future buyers to avoid the HANSBYN material. Ikea customer service, if you are reading this, please address this issue urgently before it worsens please. (Order no: 1515186826)

Opted for IKEA Catania over local Italian shops because as it's a massive international company we expected professionalism and courtesy. What an awful decision, how wrong we were.
Ordered a kitchen and other furniture for our new house, half of it arrived with the rest due to be delivered when in stock. After waiting weeks finally the items were in stock and we were given a delivery date. Which was then changed a number of times. Eventually a date was fixed and we closed our own shop to wait. And wait we did but no delivery. Our tracking was then updated with another date and again, we took the time off to wait. No delivery. No contact from delivery guys or IKEA. This process was repeated a couple more times until we recieved a phone call from IKEA. All details confirmed and we were given a new date. As before it was a no show. We called IKEA and they told us that the driver had tried to call, but was unable to get through. The number they apparently tried to call has nothing to do with us. And it's so odd that they had this mysterious wrong number as IKEA had called the correct number only a few days before.
Another new delivery date fixed for today. Surprise surprise, Again a no show. We called during the delivery window, spoke to an agent who put us on hold to contact the delivery and strangely after 8 minutes our call was dropped. Called back, new agent told us that the original agent would call us back. No call back.
We are going to take this further with the relevant Italian consumer agency as we are being ripped off and messed around. We have paid for products and services in advance and have received neither and have nothing to show but a half built kitchen. The company has serious failings in multiple areas. Appalling way to treat customer. I advise everyone to steer clear of IKEA.
