Free solar panels fitted, don't know why we bothered.

Solar voltaic panels fitted feb 2023 by Installeasy under 'free' council scheme. Very little info given re HOW we now benefit from them. Told to inform our energy supplier. Have struggled ever since trying to get EDF to accept documents, certificate, reading off solar panel meter. No 'Export reading' wording on our meter. EDF don't seem to like you getting solar panels fitted by anyone that isn't them!! Installeasy never explained this, they just seemed to 'fit and go!'

No after service (solar system)

We received a solar system via the warm grant scheme.
Very slow prior to the system getting up & running.
Agreement & scaffolding was March last year, finally fitted end of June.
We have had a fault on this system since September, despite assurances that this would be dealt with this has not happened.
We have contacted installeasy by phone, that is never answered. We have left messages and emails & sent an official letter of complaint.
I feel now installeasy have been paid by Carlisle City Council they have no interest in rectifying a fault on a system they are responsible for.
Happy to take the business (and the money) but no responsibility for customer aftercare.
We now have a system that does not work and a supplier (that has been paid) that doesn't care.

Installeasy & Improveasy are the same company I believe. See

Edited review: Despite lots of install "issues" and a long time putting it right, I have edited my review to a 3 star due to the after service from Harry Khan, he is superb & made sure everything is right in the end.

I think this is fairer...a lot of these companies don't care once they walk off the job.

Shambolic

Review concerns both ImprovEasy and InstallEasy. Shambolic from start to finish (though not at the finish yet as Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) heating is broken again with a second ceiling-damaging leak).

- Almost 18 months between first contact and the work beginning. Some of this time was due to circumstances beyond their control, but a lot of it was not.

- Months between payment and being given a start date, even then it was only because I wrote to the CEO.

- Me: "Will the heating be in before Christmas?"
Them "Definitely".
Installation was done the following March/April.

- In house communication between departments seems practically non-existent.

- Numerous instances of being promised someone will turn up or work will begin on a specific day, only to be sat at home all day with no one turning up and calls being unanswered.

- Internal Wall Insulation team seemed to have no idea what the survey said.

- ASHP team eventually turn up and say that the pump can't go where the surveyor said it would go.

- Pipe leak within days of installation, to be fair it was repaired very quickly. 2nd pipe leak a few weeks after installation, still waiting for a repair despite being given 2 dates when someone would fix it. The first was cancelled on the day, the second they just didn't turn up and didn't call.

- Much more but can't be bothered to type it right now - they've wasted enough of my time.

Cavity walls and combi boiler

We have recently had cavity wall insulation done and had a new combi boiler installed. Every member of the team are a credit to the company, they were prompt, polite, professional and very knowledgeable. I would have no hesitation in recommending the workmen or the company to others.
Thanks again for your hard work,
Alan

Issue aftercare

Boiler installed but I had to email as they had left mess on extension roof so returned to sweep up. Then noticed carpet been torn as it had been taken up. Install easy refuse to accept liability said “maybe it was existing damage from another trade person and the engineer said carpet came up easily as no grippers”

Sent photos showing clearly there are grippers so engineer wasn’t telling truth plus only moved in few weeks ago and all carpets were brand new at time

Not happy

Response from installeasy- says caused by pets no it is NOT. Now I have to buy new carpet as this was damaged by taking up carpet by engineer. No one has been out to inspect carpet. Install easy said no grippers clearly grippers are in place

Yes I agree you sent someone out to clear rubble left not my fault abs they could have come anytime as did not require access inside house!

Boiler is ok however this review is about aftercare so this is what I have reviewed! As in title of review

Still awaiting someone to come out to “look” at the damage

Hello Mrs Atkinson,

When you emailed in regarding the little bit of rubble that needing sweeping off your roof our response was immediate, we sent the engineer back to clean this up ASAP, in fact we could have attended even sooner but unfortunately you were not available. In response to the carpet damage, I believe that this damage may have been caused by one of your pets as it simply is not possible for that kind of damage to happen by lifting a carpet up. As stated in our previous correspondence we are more than happy to deal with a third party insurance company if you would like this matter to be investigating further.

We work very hard to maintain the high standards that we pride ourselves on, Especially in these recent times! It is unfortunate that you have decided to leave this bad review based on a little bit of rubble that we swiftly cleaned up as soon as we had been made aware of it and a damaged carpet that I believe had nothing to do with us! The standard of the boiler installation and quality of the work carried out is unquestionably to the highest of standards which appears to have gone unnoticed.

Regards

I would give zero if I could

I would give zero if I could. Had a Green Home Voucher approved from their quote for insulted rendering in May. They quoted under 10k. They came out to get me to sign paperwork with said price. Told me they could install anytime. Heard nothing. My voucher was going to run out so I extended it. Contacted them and was told hopefully August. I just received an email with a requote of 17k and asking for a 7k deposit. Not called me or anything. Never once mentioned this change in price. I think they’ve done it to get rid of me. Really disappointed in their service.

I’m very sorry to hear about this issue Rebecca. Having looked into it I can see the initial quote was only for partial insulation, whilst the final quote was for insulating 100% of the home which accounts for the price difference. Unfortunately with the grant only covering a maximum of £10,000 we understand this leaves many customers with larger homes unable to proceed with the insulation projects. Please do get in touch if there is anything further we can be of assistance with, many thanks,

Dan at InstallEasy

Just Wow!

Just WOW! From the initial enquiry to the installation and registration of documents, this company have been one of a kind. Every person we have dealt with from booking in, surveyor, installation admin and engineers has gone out of their way to make the process as simple and stress free as possible. Every one of the team has been friendly and professional at every step. The whole process from start to finish has been incredibly swift and without complicaiton. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering improvements to their home.
