Wow, so much to say but maybe someone can benefit from my information. My experiences with IVL were just terrible. In June, my household items were relocated by IVL to another state. During the roughly 20 business days to get to my new home, my furnishings were offloaded and transferred (“consolidated”) a number of times before they got to the final location. When the shipment finally arrived the overall condition of the boxes and items show a total disregard for my belongings. I don't think there was not one box that was not crushed, a piece of furniture that was not cracked, dented, scratched or bruised. Some items were lost and were never recovered. We found sand and dirt on the furniture and boxes, so they were outside at some point for how long I can't imagine. My son's prized toolbox was severely damages due to a number of heavy items being stacked on top of it. Anything marked fragile was ignored. We had very little communication with IVL on when the items would arrive at the new house and I feel there was misleading information about the length it would take for the delivery. Now if I fill out a mountain of paperwork and supporting documentation, I may be able to recover 60 cents a pound for the damaged items. Really? Yep, that will do the trick if could buy a new TV for $6. I really can’t find have anything positive to say about my experience with IVL. So now you’ve been warned. Good luck with your move.

Your initial sales person will sell you this whole wonderful experience that is about to happen. And it’s not actually going to happen. There will be more hidden fees throughout the process - such as, we will need more space on truck to hold your stuff and we need to shuttle it to your house instead of keeping it on the truck so there’s more money.

Then, your stuff will sit at the warehouse for over 2 weeks because they have 21 business days to get it to you..

And you’ll never be able to reach “your representative” that is dedicated to you. They never answer the phone and take a week to respond via email. And they pass you around from person to person. Terrible experience for the 12k I paid.

Used IVL for my cross-country move, they did a bang up job.

Hopefully I never move again, if I do ill use IVL.

I highly recommend International Van Lines they are one of the best I needed help moving cross country To California and they showed up and showed out they were very professional and polite they moved everything carefully and move very quickly!!

The service was fine until upon delivery I discovered they lost a box and then all I got was “these things happen”, “some things are out of our control”, and “you don’t have the right insurance to file a claim”.
I wasn’t aware I needed to insure myself against their incompetence. Their employees labeled and inventoried and loaded the box into the crate with all my other items. They shipped and delivered everything else. What happened to the one box? Boxes don’t just vanish into thin air. Someone in this company misplaced it or took it. And they won’t take accountability.

From our initial contact with IVL to the final drop off we were handle with respect. IVL put our household goods in storage and then moved them to our final destination. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again as well as to recommend them to family and friends!

Everyone I dealt with was helpful and easy to communicate with, and the whole process went smoothly. Moving is stressful enough, so having people who were available and patient with my questions was a relief. Would definitely recommend them.

I moved from Chicago to Florida. International Van Lines was with me every step of the way. The communication is outstanding! The customer service agents are so nice, and helpful. They answered all of my questions. I would definately recommend this company!! Wish I could give 10 Stars!!

IVL is the way to go

I cannot overstate how horrible our experience with this company was. Do not hire them. If you do, buy the insurance.

We were extremely prepared and repeatedly identified our most valuable piece, a $20k vintage sculptural wood table.

Driver arrived 45 min late with no crew. Two movers arrived an hour later and two more an hour after that. No packing materials. Driver asked ME to go to Home Depot to buy bubble wrap and frame boxes. I bought everyone lunch, and the crew then left to “get drinks.”

Day 2: Despite repeated warnings about the $20k table—and specifically flagging the inadequate wrapping—they put this delicate table at the bottom of the truck and stacked belongings on top of it to the ceiling. I have video documenting it.

Driver and workers argued over pay in our kitchen. Loading stopped in the rain over a dispute about a truck limit while our belongings got soaked.

IVL couldn't fit everything. While unpacking, we found boxes with ONE item in them—like a surge protector. We had to leave belongings behind and pay $1,200 to have them driven 600 miles.

Upon delivery, the $20k table was destroyed. Other furniture and paintings were damaged, and the furniture-hardware box—which the driver said he put in his cab—disappeared.

I submitted a $75k insurance claim. The insurer sent an appraiser. **Final tally: $86,000. IVL offered $1,000.**

I documented everything with emails, photos and video. The driver acknowledged that he'd never had someone more prepared for a move and that the handling of the table was “not industry best practices.”

IVL also charged me $500 for “moving blankets,” which I paid so I could have a clear conscience leaving this review.

Accidents happen. This wasn't one accident. It was a cascade of failures involving staffing, packing, loading, damaged furniture, missing items and an insulting claims process.

The only positive: IVL hired a good local crew for unpacking, whom I've since hired again.

I would strongly caution anyone against entrusting this company with anything they care about.

I moved from Los Angeles, CA to Chicago, IL, and had a great experience. Everything went smoothly, the team was professional, and my belongings arrived safely. Very satisfied with the service.

I didn’t know what to expect since I have moved couple of times before and those were not so nice experiences so I was open to c what was coming!
The driver arrive 10 minutes early so it was a great start,labor doing the packing arrive on time we did a walkthrough about every room and how I wan it to be label on the boxes so I didn’t have any issue of where the box came out of the house and I knew where to put it in the new one , the house floors were protected even without asking them to do it.
TVs were packed professionally
Mattress were protected real nice also
I will definitely look forward to work with IVL again!

Its usually hard for me to trust moving companies, but International vanlines changed my mind about that. Amazing service from the customer service to my driver! They officially have a customer for life.

I recently moved from Massachusetts to Florida using INTL Van Lines, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. Words really can’t describe how amazing the service was from beginning to end.

The entire staff was professional, polite, and very helpful throughout the whole process. The crew members at both pickup and delivery did an excellent job handling everything and made the move as stress-free as possible.

What impressed me most was the timing. My delivery was very close to the estimated date they originally provided, which was extremely important to me on a long-distance move.

Overall, I had an excellent experience with INTL Van Lines and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a professional and reliable moving company. Five stars!
