Clive at the Colchester Branch (Layer Rd) helped me with bespoke horticultural glass-cutting. Superb customer service. Went above & beyond.

I wanted to look at some paint colours online.
The prices are hidden UNLESS you create an account/login - This firm doesn't have the monopoly on paint supplies that it evidently believes it has, and there is simply no way I intend to hand over my personal details to a firm that seems to think that there is an endless supply of mugs. Will not waste any more time with them. Shame really but 100% their choice and 100% avoidable.

I needed a round peice of glass to be cut and went into the Ipswich branch, giving the assistant a piece of paper with the sizes on it. 470mm radius with a 40mm radius centre hole. The assistant Craig checked that I had given him the radius measurements and I knew the difference between radius and diameter. I confirmed this was radius, correct.
He was unable to process the order, give me a quote or take any payment due to a stock take. (I think the company was in the process of changing hands)
He said he would call me with a quote the following Monday. I called and was told that the stock take had overrun and to call back later that week to place the order. Eventually an order was placed and it took a few days to receive a verbal quote of £159.59 which I accepted.
I went to collect the glass today. It was yes you've guessed it 470mm in diameter with a 40mm diameter hole in the centre.
I was told that I had ordered incorrectly. Nothing they could do.
I was told that I had no proof that my measurements had been incorrectly interpreted, whe the order was submitted, many days after my initial visit and confirmation with Craig. Even I were to re-order the glass it would be at the full price of the larger size. No refund, nothing whatsoever they could or would do. I asked to speak with Craig to confirm our conversation, "he's not here, he's off for 3 months"
Oh so MY mistake, confirmed then, and I just wasted £160, tough ! I left, rather shocked, poorer and with no glass! Not much use having half a coffee table ?

Can I suggest that, at the bear minimum, you send the customer written or email quotations with sizes clearly marked or drawn for bespoke items such as cut glass ? Such an easy fix for your staff, their intransigent attitude to customer service and your professional reputation.

Ordered 3x10lt tubs on 20/11/23 and after numerous phone calls and emails it still wasn’t delivered till 29/11/23.
Won’t be ordering on line for delivery from kent blaxill again when other suppliers I use for paint normally get it to a job next day.
This was going direct to a client so it didn’t look good.

Always go to the Cambridge branch, great selection of products, prices are good, always stocked up with what you need and knowledgeable staff that give great advice..Coffee is also spot on.

Just come back from your Market Harborough store and not sure if I should have accepted the paint I purchased from you? as the tin was really damaged. They guy seemed to be in a bad mood and said they came off the pallet like that. Not sure I will be using you again.

I have had the pleasure of being a customer of the Colchester branch of KB for a good many years now. I had undertaken a large project, which sadly I could only buy materials from month to month as my meagre salary allowed. At 62 and female, building a ground floor bedroom, shower room and kitchen area by myself, for my 82 year old Mum, was perhaps not the best idea I ever had. I digress. What I want to say is, that at no time have I ever been treated with anything but respect and understanding. They have never been impatient, nor have they dismissed my small quantity orders even though they are incredibly busy.
So I just wanted to say a huge thank you, especially to Karl and the team, in case I ever forget to do so.
I am still aways from completion but will always dial KB's number 1st.

Very Expensive (Don't know what difference if you have a trade account)

Just brought 2.5 litre Sandolin 2.5ltr direct in store and when I got home found I could have got it £20 cheaper online including postage...

Would have took it back hadn't I needed it today.

Thanks for saying you will look into this, so I took Sent you all the details as requested, but you've not replied 4 days later so why promise you will look into it.

Got a response in the end stating no refund and that they think there tins of 2.5 litre paint at £20 more than anyone else is competitive.

Very helpful. It's very useful to be able to get paint mixed on site, and to be able to choose from a selection of quality paint manufacturers.
