Really interesting and the whole trip was made by the tour guide (unfortunately I can’t remember his name). He was very funny, personable and insightful. Thank you for a lovely experience!
We booked the self guided tour and were totally blown away, then we got chatting to Nick, he was so full of knowledge and showed us some of the most amazing aspects of the caves! He was so passionate about his job it completely made our visit! We will 100% be coming here again!
Really great place to visit and see fascinating aspects of the caves and the people and fauna that inhabited them. Quite expensive but well worth the extra to pay for a guided tour without which you would miss so much. Our guide was Peter and was first rate and knowledgable and brough what we were seeing into perspective.
A fantastic experience. Unbelievable that this cavern was formed millions of years ago. Peter the guide was so knowledgeable and certainly knew his subject. He made the tour very interesting and answered all of my questions. This cavern is well worth a visit.
Me and hubby came here yesterday having high expectations, well first of the cafe was absolutely packed, tables was not cleared, very understaffed. Took 32 mins to get a coffee, once in the caves we was expecting a lot more for our money as in, deep caves with stair cases going deeper underground. Was in and out within 20 mins. Not a very good place to go especially when busy. Would defo recommend going elsewhere..
Our brilliant guide, Peter, pitched the information perfectly, to what was a very wide ranging audience. He even shared artefacts! This is a fascinating site, with many geological and social layers. Well worth the money. The tour made all the difference. Thank you!
Educational, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable tour.
Something for most ages.
One thing to note if your 6ft or taller - listen to the guide (the rocks are pretty hard)
Our guide (Peter) was very knowledgeable and shared that knowledge with a brilliant mix of humour and sincerity.
Any negatives? - just the one, an hour goes by too quickly, we could easily have spent a lot more time there.
Ps - the temperature is pretty cool (14) so if you feel the need bring something to keep you warm.
I did a guided tour with my 12 year old. Hosted by EMELIA the tour was fascinating. The tour shared insights into the history and formations of the caverns. Emelia answered eveyones questions patiently and knowledgeably. Well worth the visit
A very interesting trip, starting from the door you walk through, James our tour guide was informative, animated and funny, a great visit
As an older couple visiting the caverns we found that we kept catching up to a school childrens tour. We were told on two occasions that we had to wait but could look around while we waited. We went down a tunnel and came out where the children were. Kents employee was arrogant and rude and asked us in a hostile voice what we were doing there. I explained that we were told to look around and had obviously came out in the wrong place. She rudely told us again that we shouldnt be there while the children were looking around. It spoilt the entire visit and i personally would not employ rude oiks like this particular individual.
We loved this experience! Our guide Kye was very knowledgeable and entertaining, the caves are worth a visit ( very cool in the current heatwave so if you're a menopausal mum at the end of you tether, go,
take the kids). There is a lot of history, artefacts and finds to see on the tour. Easily accessible for able bodied, not sure about a wheel chair? Only slightly low ceilings throughout until the exit I needed to duck.
The shop was good although out of cheese!!! 😱
But the cafe was delightful, clean and tidy, excellent coffee (decaf available) and lovely food. We enjoyed the lunch we had, and the staff were a pleasure to deal with, thankyou.
Afterwards we did the woodland trail which was entertaining for us, but probably suited towards younger children rather than older teen.
I thought it value for money, especially compared to Cheddar.
We took our three grandsons to Kents Cavern and had an amazing experience. In particular our guide, Amelia was a fun presenter, enthusiastic, very informative and great with the boys. She even knew about Minecraft which particularly impressed them! Two of the boys are autistic and are sometimes sensitive to such experiences, but Amelia was very good at making them feel safe. We also enjoyed the temporary dinosaur exhibition, delicious pizzas in the cafe and a fun Woodland Trail.
Very exciting cave and alive and good telling from Alex ( Amy) 🤣. Fairly prizes and a place to go visiting the south of Britain 👍🏽.
Good and very hot pepperoni pizza. 🇩🇰❤️
