Okay service but no help when things go wrong

We purchased a used kitchen from Neil which was delivered by his dismantling company November 4 2022. Unfortunately, Dan, who does the dismantling, failed to collect everything from the seller's kitchen, including a large cupboard we were intending to use as a pantry. We had designed the kitchen ourselves with the help of our architect friend, and this large cupboard was going to play quite an important part in our kitchen. Alas, it never appeared. Mistakes happen, yes. However, it is the measure of an honourable businessman to put things right, and not to hide from sticky situations. After numerous phone calls to Dan the dismantler (who didn't pick up) and to Neil, we were finally assured (by Neil) that the mistake would be put right and he would find us a pantry. (Not the one from the kitchen set, however, as that was long gone). To date, we have not heard a thing. I do not wish to 'dis' this company, and I do believe in writing a fair review; indeed, we actually got a very decent kitchen out of it. But if I were to use a similar service again, it would be another kitchen exchange; not Neil's.

Neil has been amazing from start to…

Neil has been amazing from start to finish & aftercare. To start my expectations are very high. I’ve been on the mailing list for Mark Wilkinson Kitchens for 12 years & have paid for every catalogue spanning this time. We were going to opt for a Harvey Jones kitchen, thankfully we fell upon KitchenExhange with Neil and never looked back. A second hand kitchen and worth every penny. Neil was honest, trustworthy, true to his word and knows his kitchens. We opted for the Milan range, beautifully looked after walnut and white with beautiful walnut cornice and plinths, the trademark of vintage Mark Wilkinson kitchens. Finally I have my dream kitchen. If I’m honest I queried the professional costs to remove and carrier the kitchen. This was worth every penny. John text us to tell us the kitchen was removed and came out wonderfully easy. It was delivered to us in two Kitchen Exchange lorries, professionally wrapped, (even the beading) and stored perfectly. We had bacon waiting for the boys, my husband had the lot, he couldn’t get them to stop work. Honestly Neil, John and the team you have made this lady’s dream come true and finally I have my dream kitchen. The moment the kitchen is installed I will invite you all down to celebrate, 9 bedrooms in one of the most beautiful areas in the U.K. this kitchen will make our home. Thank you Neil and the team you really are the ‘A Team’

Hi Sarah. Many thanks for the review. We're very happy to have sourced you your kitchen as we know how long you've been looking and how particular you've been in your search for the 'the one'. It's been a pleasure to work with you and David and I'll send your best to the removal team. It's good to know that you appreciate the hard work and care that goes into dismantling and delivering our kitchens - the guys do an incredible job and sometimes it can be overlooked. Anyway, best of luck with everything and please do send us some photos of the finished article! I'm sure it will look great. Regards, Neil

I purchased a kitchen for £25,000

I purchased a kitchen for £25,000, not a small sum of money advertised by Kitchen Exchange. The service before I parted with my money was excellent, thereafter the service has been dreadful.
The kitchen was delivered but the installation remains incomplete, months later. The sink is unusable, and so is the hob. Even the plynths to the island table are missing, not to mention a European socket provided by the company !
The installation itself is also defective.
I've been chasing 'Neil' to help resolve this, and of course the requests are in writing, but it seems that now they've facilitated the sale, they haven't got the time to return my calls.
Do not buy from them.

Dear Shenaz - we have spoken since you've left this review. We strongly feel this review should have been left for the showroom - not Kitchen Exchange. Firstly, we do not offer an installation service, secondly, your contract was directly with the showroom who you paid directly for the display - Kitchen Exchange were not party to the agreement you had in place regarding installation of the display. Anyway, as you now know we are doing all we can to find out from the showroom when the installation will be completed. If the showroom can't make good then we will get you quotes from 3rd party fitters that we use.

Unreliable, very poor communication

We tried to sell our kitchen through Kitchen Exchange and this company wasted over 2 weeks of our time. We have an email from the company owner confirming that our kitchen would be listed on the website on a specific date and this was never done. We were also told that arrangements would be made for the kitchen to be dismantled and removed on a specific date. When we tried to follow up, the communication was poor and ultimately non-existent. The owner has not responded to our emails and when we tried to ring him, we were repeatedly told he is in a meeting. We are unsure what has gone wrong but we are still receiving automatic email updates on our kitchen listed for sale on their website when it has never been listed. If the company changed their minds about listing our kitchen, a message advising us would have been the professional and considerate thing to do. Based on our experience, this company is disorganised and unreliable.
