Koru Kids Reviews 

There are so many wonderful nannies on Koru, and a wide range of skills, interests, availability, and even nationalities. After several interviews we found our new hero - Carmen - who already feels like an extension of the family (for three days a week - wish we could have her for more!). My favourite part about Koru is knowing that all the holiday pay, pension payments and national insurance are taken care of - and our nanny is getting the comp and benefits she deserves without us having to take on the admin.

Very friendly staff and communication was good and efficient. Also very helpful with my queries. A seamless Zoom call with Nafisa enabled me to have my account up and running.

Many things are very good

There is good training, advice and guidance. However, I do not like having to wait six weeks to get my first wages, as I feel that is too long for a low-paid job.

There is also very little personal contact. Instead of speaking directly to someone, everything is very impersonal and online. I only had a video call to show my ID, and that was it. The whole process can feel quite cold and distant.

However, the family and the children are wonderful. I could not have asked for a better family, and we seem to get on like a house on fire. Everything feels very natural and organic.

My experience is that while there is a great customer service, unfortunately it does solve the core issue, which is fhe reliability of the nannies. We had three nannies who were all great with the kids and everything was great, but two of them found different jobs (not nanny jobs) and had to stop with a short notice. That tells me that the “nannie” are essentially people doing this job while they are looking for the real job they want to do. Being in London, this goes fast and puts families who rely on nannies into critical job threatening and thus existential situations. The third nanny quit just after 3 working days as she had to travel, then celebrate her birthday and in the meantime help her sister with her kids. It is very concerning that there is no commitment mechanisms in place for at least a school term or ideally a full scholastic year. Parents seeking Koru Kids support are exactly those who work and need that help, not as a nice to have support. Whereas it is nice that KK is keen on communication culture of their nannies, for me a commitment and reliability is much more important than having a beautiful communication about quitting after 3 days with 4 days coverage and being exposed to an existential threat of giving up my job with all its consequences.

I really appreciate all the effort the Koru Kids team puts into providing informative online training materials, communication, coordination and ongoing support. There is clearly a lot of work behind the service, and I genuinely value that.

However, I do feel there is an imbalance between what is expected from nannies and the rates being offered. The expectations, office works, standards are understandably high, but I don’t feel the pay always reflects the experience, maturity, reliability and level of responsibility that more experienced nannies can bring to a family.

I believe that if high standards are expected from nannies, their experience and the value of their work should also be recognised through fair rates. I hope this is something Koru Kids will seriously consider, as it would make the overall experience feel much more balanced and rewarding for experienced nannies.

It was easy to join in and with clear instructions, i enjoy the training. I am so happy to be part of Koru kids i wish I read of it earlier.

This platform is very fast to reply and very responsible, and they give first-time customers very helpful guidelines. I will recommend this one.

The smoothness of the whole process. The company is so well organised and their site is user friendly. The customer service is extremely professional. It is my first time dealing with Koru Kids, but it seemed that I have been dealing with them for long.

We find the offer very expensive and unaffordable for most families, and Tax Free Childcare cannot be used in conjunction. The portal on the other hand is very well made and easy to use.

Love love love Koru Kids and our after school nanny we found through them. Our daughters have hit it off with their nanny - she’s super reliable and great fun. My wife and I were reflecting on the last year (throughout which we have used a Koru Kids nanny) - in summary the pressure valve on the working week was released when we got our nanny. Can’t recommend enough.

Koru Kids provided excellent training and helped me find a family in my local area. The app is very easy to use for logging hours and communicating. Great support for nannies

Excellent, all perfectly seamless!

Unfortunately companies like this one who pay their staff pennies whilst taking large sums from families seeking childcare should be banned. As a qualified and professional nanny of 15 years working for minimum wage or just pence above is diabolical, it’s killing off the industry. Nannys need to have childcare qualifications, dbs checks, liability insurance and first aid qualifications, all of that comes at a cost to the nanny, none of this is factored in when offering a salary of £12.25 per hour. If you would like quality childcare at minimal prices, hire a childminder. This is extortion. Plus their vetting process is unreliable and in most cases not done properly and to a satisfactory standard. Be very wary if you’re planning on using this company.

Excellent self service app, good variety of candidates, strong processes and helpful customer support

Well I was told they don’t work with special needs children, non verbal / autistic children. which is fair, if they don’t work they don’t work! Funny I was referred by a mum who’s got a special needs child they said they have hired through Koru but I was told they don’t work with special needs children when I made a query. Probably a miscommunication by inexperienced staff ? Who knows!

Easy to use and takes care of everything. Made finding a nannyess stressful.

Totally out of the blue, Koru Kids rejected my application without giving any explanation.

I was working through the application this week, while juggling other responsibilities and contacting and waiting for the right references to apply for a higher pay tier.

Upon reading their help article, I couldn’t find any reasonable grounds for the rejection. I have a legal right to work and 1 year+ childcare experience, and one of my references has also been verified.

The only reason that could be remotely relevant was perhaps they thought that I have “put minimal effort into your application” because I couldn’t finish the whole application within 3 days.

The help article also advise against reaching to get feedback and said I couldn’t reapply within one year.

I am very disappointed and will suggest other people to not sign up unless they and their professional references have nothing else better to do.

Update on 19 Aug 2026:
Koru Kids have responded and implied that my CV, ID document and references were weak. I am not sure how they would have been able to judge that because I had not even uploaded my CV, ID or all of my references. It was apparent to me that they just assumed I wasn’t working through the application because they could not see much update within 3 days.

They could have located my profile based on my name and date of experience. I think they would rather take this feedback offsite because it would be easier to dismiss me again.

I will say i worked for a wonderful Family as a nanny through Koru kids but ive been treated awfully from a payroll side that i will never work for koru kids again!

First of all it took 2 months for koru kids to set up my pension and that was with me chasing them up and then pension payment amounts were incorrect. I had report twice for them to be corrected.

The icing on the cake: it took koru kids 7 months to feed all my payroll information to HMRC. If i hadnt of sent multiple emails, rung up and having advice from HMRC, i honestly dont think Koru kids would of sent any of my payroll information to HMRC.

I am aware that koru kids will say that there was a delay in receiving my PAYE number but again i had to ring HMRC to pass on a number for koru kids to ring to make sure my PAYE number was on the way and this is after my contract had finished.

Absolutely appalling payroll service and they even use AI to respond to long emails -ick!
