Leonard Storage building roofs do…

The Leonard Storage building roofs do NOT withstand the weather. After discovering the rotting wood, and removing the shingles, it was brought to my attention that there was no underlayment/tar paper under the shingles to protect the life of the OSB/plywood. Even though the shingles were still in fairly good condition, the roof itself began rotting. I contacted Leonard numerous times about this problem and even submitted pictures of the roof rot. They offered no help whatsoever. I was told there was absolutely nothing that could be done. It was explained that the roof warenty used to be 7 years but now it's only 5 years. The customer service representative i spoke to in Mount Airy was very pleasant and suggested I speak to the local manager of the Wilmington nc store. Which I did a few times by calling and leaving messages and through emails with pictures. It was quite a challenge trying to get a response and once I did, he was very cold, short, not supportive and offered no assistance. Said there was nothing he could do and that was it.

I have been a long time customer purchasing big ticket items over the years such as a camper shell and a trailer. I was surprised that this company was so quick to write me off.

There are many Storage building companies that build their buildings to last with proper weather proofing. Not Leonard. They told me NONE of their buildings are wrapped with anytime of underlayment.
