Mini purchase lloyd Newcastle.

Bought a mini from Lloyd Newcastle off Mark and Ian. It was the easiest and most pleasant car purchase I have ever experienced. These are the epitome of sales people. No pressure, went way and above by staying late and actually managed to get the car ready for 7 hours after agreeing deal due to my car being unrepairable.

Happy customers

Yesterday we visited Lloyd Kia South lakes. On arrival we advised our specific requirements and were shown several options for us to consider. Throughout our visit Lauren was enthusiastic and revealed excellent product knowledge. Thanks to her help we were able to buy a vehicle which ideally fitted our needs.

Extended Warranty - Lloyds Mini, Blackpool

I purchased a Mini Countryman 31st Jan 2026 from Lloyds Mini, Blackpool. A few months later I had an issue with an intermittent knocking noise when I started the engine. Lloyds inspected the car and could find nothing yet the fault is still present. July 2026, I noticed my rear windscreen wiper was loose and it seemed the motor was floating around inside the cover. Again, Lloyds had a technician inspect it which took 1.5 hours for a simple half hr job! Technician said someone/thing had banged it and its not covered under the Extended Warranty! (Felt like he was implying I had damaged it). So two faults in the space of 6mths and neither fault resolved or even claimable on the warranty! It seems now they have sold the car they don't want to know about any faults and if there are some then they wont cover it on their 2yr Extended Warranty. Doesn't give me much confidence in the company if something major was to go wrong with the car! No doubt it would not be covered by the warranty!!
I was incredibly frustrated and annoyed at the lack of interest in my car's issues. I rang Megan, Sales Advisor, who sold me the car and explained everything. She advised she would speak to Service and call me back. I'm still awaiting the call!
Overall, the aftercare has been very disappointing. Communication and customer service has fallen well below the standard I expected after purchasing a vehicle from Lloyds Mini, Blackpool.
I would advise prospective car buyers NOT to buy the Extended Warranty as it's not worth the paper it's written on!

Lloyds BMW South Lakes

I bought an approved used 2016 4 series’s coupe in 2022.
It has developed bubbling paint on the o/s front wing. A common problem covered by the manufacturer warranty.
However when checked by the Lloyds paint shop at Newcastle he pointed out that virtually the whole car had been resprayed and there was possibly body filler in the wing.
Because of this the warranty would not cover the repair.
Lloyds south lakes are not interested as they say it met the approved used standards when sold. I’m totally disgusted and will never use Lloyds group or purchase an BMW again.
If I had wanted to take the chance on a used BMW I would have gone to a back street garage or private.
It’s disgusting that a main dealer can do this. Be careful what you buy, all may not be as it seems!
So a long as it passes the approved BMW check before sale it’s ok, even if the side is full of body filler.
The approved used guarantee isn’t worth anything!

Thank you for your feedback, Jason. We're sorry to hear you are disappointed with your experience. After passing your feedback on to the team, they confirmed that your vehicle was supplied as an Approved Used BMW having met all required manufacturer standards at the point of sale, including a clear HPI check. Unfortunately, warranty assessments are carried out in line with BMW UK's criteria, and previous paint or body repairs can affect eligibility for corrosion-related claims.
We appreciate this is not the outcome you were hoping for, and if you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team. Kind regards.

Told the velar from Ripon branch needed prep . Prep ? More like massive work to put right. Quotted a price but car no where to be seen . So bought one elsewhere.two months later the velar appears on Lloyds website back at Ripon and nearly £5000 cheaper. Customer service is shall I say bad at its best . No confidence on cars being correctly serviced or put right . Try elsewhere if you want to buy in confidence.

lloyds mini brillint service

Made contact with Lloyds through autotrader, later the same day i was called back from a young chap(Josh) who proceeded to discribe the car , i pretty much from the advert that i was buying the car he just rubber stamped the deal.Explaining i was in Norwich didnt lesser the deal he said he could get it to the closest depot for me(York)i them paid a deposit.not knowing the saga would continue for 9 days whilst i sold my own car to part fund the deal ,he was happy to wait and daily sent me details, documents and videos of the car and any paper work needed to complete the deal.
we eventually met in York and signed what needed to be signed and i paid the money(eventually)It was an experience that could have gone wrong on so many levels but Josh and Lloyds did an amazing job making the deal happen and im forever grateful for that.
This is what customer service should thrive too.

Inconsistent levels of service at Carlisle Land Rover left me…

Inconsistent levels of service left me underwhelmed. The buying processes, as often is with Land Rover, was slick and easy. The salesman was a nice guy who offered to collect us from the train station which was nice of him. The car itself was exactly as described, an unmarked low mileage vehicle. The showroom lovely and the toilets immaculate. Everyone that we spoke to seemed pleasant. There were, however, a few things that left a nasty taste in the mouth. First off the fact that I was charged £35.00 for fuel, when no extra fuel was added to the fuel that was showing on the sale picture. What made this worse was the fact that if I was to pay for the fuel that they had put into the car before I even became the buyer then the 20 miles or so difference in the sales picture and what I actually saw on collection indicated that I'd paid for someones test drive prior to me buying. A small thing I know but feels cheap. The next thing was that whilst the car was not dirty it'd been washed some days before and had a fair amount of sandy dust, again no big issue and the bird dirt that it came with could have happened anytime. Then there was the fact that I'd asked for a quick turnaround so was disappointed that my private plate hadn't been put into the car and the apprentice as cain called him put the rear plate on wonky and left half an inch of tape showing all around both plates. Then when it came to setting up the InControl App I had been locked out because they had forgotten to take the previous owner off the car. A call to Carlisle found a very nice salesman who said he'd resolved it but he hadn't. It took a week to resolve and only with the assistance of Land Rover InControl Admin. Lastly and perhaps the biggest one was that as I sit here three and a half weeks after purchasing this car no one has contacted me to ask me how it is and if there were any problems. If thy had they'd have heard these things together with the fact that it went up for sale one week after I collected it. (in fairness the salesman was due on holiday but neither he nor anyone else picked this up between now and then) Not the cars' fault per se' but mine for not taking a decent test drive. I collect my new car on Wednesday from my local Land Rover dealer and didn't consider Lloyds Carlisle this time as I was put off by the after sales care and the very dodgy £35.00 petrol cost that is apparently used by others.

Systemic vehicle faults

Systemic vehicle faults, corporate financial delays, and zero brand retention.

If you are thinking of purchasing a Jaguar I-PACE, my advice is simple: don’t. I am writing this review specifically to warn and protect other potential buyers who are looking at these vehicles; please save yourself the immense financial and operational headache.

As a first-time Jaguar owner, my vehicle has experienced five separate traction battery faults. To be completely fair, this review does not dismiss the efforts of the staff at the local garage. The ladies on the service desk at Lloyd Jaguar (Cobalt Park, Newcastle) have been fantastic—they supported the mechanical fixes, handled the frequent drop-offs, and provided excellent customer service on the front line. The issue is not with them; it is with the product they are tasked with defending, and the corporate entity behind it.

I have been actively wanting to return the vehicle, but the overall customer experience getting to this point has been entirely miserable. The process dealing with Lloyds Banking Group (operating under Land Rover Financial Services) has been deeply frustrating. When raising a formal complaint about an inherently faulty £70k+ vehicle, they appear to intentionally use every single day of the maximum regulatory response window. The tactical benefit to them is clear: it allows them to continue drawing monthly finance instalments from a business bank account for as long as possible while the customer is left stranded with a broken asset.
As a result of how they calculate "usage charges" upon rescission, every single monthly payment of £423 I have made since early 2025 has been mostly lost; I will not receive back the 15 months of payments I have made since owning the vehicle, which I find deeply disappointing given that the vehicle was fundamentally unfit for purpose for large portions of that time.

It has since become clear that my experience is not an isolated incident. The Jaguar I-PACE is well-documented to have systemic traction battery issues, and the vehicle has been subject to multiple major safety recalls regarding battery thermal overload. The "Traction Battery Fault Detected" message is a widespread issue shared by hundreds of owners online who have faced similar experiences and immense downtime while waiting for scarce replacement modules.

I have further sent Jaguar emails and even reached out via Jaguar's official Facebook Messenger. I felt the messages did not attempt to assist an escalating customer situation; they simply gave a generic response advising me to contact the finance company. My personal experience is that they are fundamentally not interested in keeping a customer.

I feel Jaguar has made absolutely no effort to offer an alternative vehicle or a path to stay with the brand. I was a new customer who was entirely open to a different model, but their total indifference to losing a first-time customer has been deeply disappointing. I am leaving a premium brand without even being asked how they could retain my business, which is astonishing.

As a quality consultant, I look at product quality management and business processes—and both are fundamentally broken here. The front-line dealership staff are let down by an unreliable product and a cynical, detached corporate structure. Avoid this car.

Fantastic, No-Pressure Experience with Ryan Cairns

The whole process, including financing, was smooth and transparent. Ryan went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my choice. If you’re looking for a used car without the stress, go see Ryan at Lloyd’s Used Car Centre

Overcharged by £486...which is bad…

Overcharged by £486...which is bad enough. What really rankled was that ... No quote was offered which destroyed my chance of claiming on my warranty....which they said they'd handle (lol). Work was done and the price (nearly £2k) presented as a fate accompli. No details offered on invoice of value. I requested another invoice which had various fairy tale inclusions but same price to pay. No apology. I challenged this and a third invoice saw the company accept errors yet introduce new factors which were the first time I'd heard of them. The left hand doesn't know what the other left hand is doing. They admit to re: training required. Prices are a peach. £150 (+VAT) min. standard just to find out what's wrong. £150+VAT is their hourly rate. Don't expect consistency. There's still several smaller fiscal issues outstanding but life is too short. Get a quote before you let them start the work. The price I paid was £1.4k whereas at my local garage they would've charged £350 for the same job!! and you wonder why the price was kept quiet until it was too late to do anything about it!

Duplicitous. All that’s worst in a used car salesman.

Enquiring about a used vehicle from Lloyd I was given an online valuation of £26k on the JLR platform and £26.3k on the LLOYD website. I completed the details and condition of the car accurately.
When I proceeded to progress the transaction, their offer was £24k with no rationale for the reduction.
They are overstating their online offers simply to entice potential customers before blatantly duping them.
You give the used car trade a bad name.

I am hopeful my complaint can be…

I am hopeful my complaint can be directed at Stockton Branch as I did contact another branch, Kelso and they were so very helpful and customer serviced minded.
Yesterday I decided I was interested in a car that Stockton was selling. Called the branch and from that moment on it appeared to be, let’s say, disinterested, supposed to call me back but didn’t. Then the excuse came oh the fire alarm had gone off. Yes well you didn’t call me as promised I had to call you. I did begin to wonder if this branch was pulling an April fools prank on me but oh no this is how they operate.
You proceeded to say you would get back to me and you did with paperwork.
I truly was disgusted at this paperwork, there had been no conversation or even mention of the extras to me. Darren expected me just to click a button to confirm. Where is the TRANSPARENCY ? This company had added £1967 on to the price of the car. £35 petrol, £799 paint protection, £629 Scratch and Dent cover, £504 for LLOYD GAP 48 month cover.
Don’t even know what the Lloyd Gap is, never discussed in fact nothing discussed just sent obviously hoping that a 78 year old women is too thick to notice …… far from it. I’m more on the ball than this salesman.
When he did eventually phone only after I had written a complaint did Darren explain the reason for these extra charges was that he found it difficult to deal online with me as I was two hundred miles away!!!!! Does this mean every customer who deals online no matter where they are based either 2 miles away or 2000 it becomes do very difficult for Stockton branch to manage and be honest. Every other company can manage online deals. Not Stockton
All I wanted was to buy a car at the advertised price, I would pay for car and we are all happy .
On the other side of the coin Kelso branch was so helpful did what they said they would.

I bought a new BMW from Lloyd Newcastle…

I bought a new BMW from Lloyd Newcastle recently. After viewing several other makes of car I settled on the X1, I booked a test drive with Greg Hawkins. Greg was friendly, helpful and knowledgable, it was very busy with the new registrations imminent but I was handed on to Andrew as Greg had other appointments. Andrew was very helpful listening to what I wanted, he located a car, which I didn’t realise hadn’t been built yet, but he gave me an approximate date and a good price for my part exchange. Greg kept me regularly up to date on the progress of the car and the delivery date was exactly what Andrew had told me to even with delays caused by waiting for a ship and transporters.
I have bought several cars from this dealership over the years and as usual a stress free professional experience .

Stay well clear of these fraudsters

Visited the Land Rover Newcastle dealership on 28th Feb, walked away as we were being offered cars from stock in colours we didn’t want. Got home and found the car we wanted online and contacted the dealership. They rang me and gave me a redemption figure on my current car and agreed it would cover all of the finance, there was no outstanding debt on the account.

I even agreed to put in additional funds on the basis that they were clearing the finance in full.

Long story short we picked up the car, that alone and the process was a shambles.

Then I’ve received a letter from my old finance company to state there’s an outstanding payment.

It turns out that what Lloyd do is manipulate the date on the redemption statements, in this case even though it was requested on the 28th Feb they put a date in as of 14/03/2026 (2 weeks later than the redemption was requested). This was due to then the redemption figure thinking that march payment had been made and as such a lower figure for them to pay. Basically the figure didn’t match the actual outstanding amount at that time.

I complained to the dealership and this was a complete waste of time. I even raised it to the business manager who clearly thought he was higher than what he was and when he rang me thought he could overtalk me and overpower the truth.

They have refused to cancel the agreement.

Please do not use this company for anything.

They forward date settlement quotes, don’t show you the quote and then agree based off incorrectly raised figures so that they get more out of it.

Also note that they advise you can cancel as we were advised but this is at the dealership discretion and they refuse to do so.

For peace of mind I contacted other Land Rover dealerships and went over the information. All 6 advised that this is incorrect practice and that at the looking of agreement the settlement should represent that days quote as it’s valid for 28 days and anything future dated wouldn’t represent a true reflection of the outstanding amount.

Save yourself time and money from dealing with these clowns and go to a different dealership.

To clarify…. The settlement quote was valid from 14th march, yet we completed on 13th march. So the settlement figure was incorrect,

I have logged with Land Rover who agree that Lloyd should not have done what they have and are waiting form reasons why they did.

This is also logged with the omdudsman.

The DD was cancelled due to the agreement with Lloyd Land Rover based on the FACT they would clear the finance. If they had acted correctly and got the settlement for the date we agreed the sale then the settlement would have reflected the true outstanding amount.

These are true cowboys… they also under value your part exchange, trying to get as much money as they can.

Wish this had stayed as Stratstone as they were brilliant instead of these thieves.

The reply below is a complete false statement and they try to make you look stupid thinking they can overpower you, all they do is make themselves look more stupid than they really are…

Dear Craig,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent experience with Lloyd Land Rover Newcastle.

We’re sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied, however we would like to clarify a few key points relating to your concerns.

Our records show that you remained in possession of and were using your previous vehicle up until 13th March. The settlement figure provided was therefore based on the understanding that the finance agreement would be settled in full at that point, reflecting the balance applicable at the time the vehicle was still in use.

We also note that your direct debit was cancelled while the agreement was still active and the vehicle in your possession. This can impact the accuracy of any settlement figure, as finance providers calculate balances based on up-to-date payment status. Any missed or cancelled payments may result in a difference between a figure and the final settlement required.

We appreciate that finance settlements can sometimes be complex, particularly when timing of payments and usage overlap. Our team provided the information available at the time and acted in line with the figures supplied by the finance company.

We regret that you feel the process did not meet your expectations and would be happy to review this further with you directly to ensure everything has been fully explained.

Kind regards,
Lloyd Land Rover Newcastle Team
