Charge us a 25% surcharge because we're using their old platform. Money robbing barstewards.
Although it is owned by GB Group, so you shouldn't expect anything else to be fair.
I've been a Loqate customer for about a year, with a mid-thousands spend. A member from their sales team called to upsell additional services, and only by drilling in to the account stats with her did I find we were being charged about 2x the rate that our volume should have been banded at. I suggested a discount going forward, which was not entertained or discussed; the team was clear that they're interested in just selling more services or getting higher volume commitment.
Overall, the tech is decent, but it is a commodity and fantastically overpriced. It is worth the up front time comparing vendors in this space, and establishing a quality relationship. I have worked with other data vendors for Loqate's data, and I have worked with GBG in other settings and seen similarly aggressive sales techniques. I'd suggest avoiding them.
What a scam!
Pay upfront and then if you leave the service or no longer have use for it (due to moving website platform or similar) no refund!
DO NOT USE THEM!!!
Biggest rip off you will ever experience. How they can get away with this is beyond me. Minimum spend is £50. Any credit left after a year (in my case almost £40) gets deleted so you need to 'purchase' another £50 worth. Evil company part of the GB Group.
The best business model around: charge your customers upfront and keep any unused credit at the end of the term.
For us the cost way outweighed the benefit. Don't use them.
