LA changed my education from HS to Master

This happened a while ago (in November 2025, in HK), but I think I should still speak, even if late. During the process, I discovered that LA changed my education level without my authorization. I have a High School diploma, but later I discovered a profile document about me that displayed my education as a Master's degree.

When I raised this issue by email and requested all communication be in writing, LA repeatedly called me and contacted me through WhatsApp, where they asked me to discuss the issue by phone or in person at their office, despite my requests of having written record. Phone calls and in-person talks leave no record, unlike emails.

Regarding my profile, LA claimed that "the document was created solely for internal verification purposes" but that does not explain the messages they sent on WhatsApp. In November 2025, LA sent an initial message stating that my education was already showing as High School to my match, accompanied by a screenshot of my profile in their system. But that screenshot merely showed my profile in their internal system, not anything that had actually been sent to or seen by the other person. Moreover, two days later they said they had just corrected it on the profile sent to my match. If the initial message was already correct and true, then it's unclear what needed correcting. And this contradiction has never been explained.

I escalated the matter to the Hong Kong Consumer Council. LA refused to address my counterpoints, and the case was closed.
