Beyond terrible. Crash after crash!

I used to create with this a lot about 4 years ago and it was great and the layout is pretty much the same so I was confident in going back to it. But now it's beyond terrible. It constantly crashes and when trying to import multiple images it either imports one or none at all! I checked it was the latest version. It was. There was no cache to clear but did so anyway. I have more than enough RAM (16) and memory space but it just seems to have a mind of it's own that is intent on causing total chaos. This editing software has some extremely serious issues that, looking on the forums, is simply not being addressed. It's such a shame as now there is no chance I will ever come back to it.

no customer support, not a good program

no matter what i do it seems like anytime i use lightworks something goes wrong. the most common problem is the de syncing, but sometimes its the coloring, sometimes it makes the audio trash. when i plug in the same recording into literally any other software (like clip champ or even canva) it looks and sounds way better without even touching anything. Ive reached out before and submitted tickets with no response back, ive spent months trying to work with the learning curve and research what i am doing wrong to no avail. I have had to completely scrap a project i was working on because there was no fixing what lightworks broke in the recording, hours of work i was doing for a church just scrapped, again i would think this was user error if i didnt put the SAME initial file into literally any other software and get a better result of the bat. i submitted a ticket and reached out to customer service and were going on about a month with no response back. Absolutely regretting my purchase. just dont bother.

The new Lightworks is a disaster!

It all started good, evrything worked super! Util the sound started to change itself whitout sence!! I really loved the old lightworks but the new one is a DISASTER!!! I had to dowload a video of 3 minutes 6 times becouse it changed the audios after being dowloaded!!!!!!! They should put the old version back!!!

The worst software I've ever used (or…

The worst software I've ever used (or at least tried to!). I'm quite competent when it comes to getting a handle on programmes. But there are way to many things wrong with this for me to go into. I will say though that it is the least intuitive I've come across, it's riddled with bugs and there are no even half decent tutorials out there. Not even the company's own are any good. I've watched four and I still don't know how to layer clips. Not that that matters because it crashes every five minutes now! Appallingly bad 😂

Great programme, even better customer service!

I wanted to write an honest review about my experience with Lightworks. The app works great, it has most, if not all, features of the top video editing software. My only complaint is that certain things that are locked behind the higher paywalls, such as choosing the file type and size to export, absolutely should not be. I don't mind missing out on a few features, but limiting my export options is not good.

However, the main purpose of this review is to commend the customer support from the dev team. I had a tricky issue that was making using Lightworks impossible. Naturally, I blamed the software and contacted customer support. They worked with me to fix the issue - the metadata on an image I was using had a dimension set to 0...so the programme was trying to divide by zero and ultimately ran out of RAM.

Rather than state the obvious and blame me, the company sent me out two or three patches which fixed the error and enabled me to export my files.

I do not think I would have received the same level of care from the other big companies in this market which is why I have taken the time to commend Lightworks on this.

Very powerful software

Very powerful software, not easy at the beginning but once you understand the philosophy then it becomes much faster than others. Customer care follow up my difficulties in boris installation till the resolution. Thank you.

Very frustrating :(

The free version is very frustrating for a beginner :( Nothing is easy here. It is not intuitive. Weak tutorial.
Would score 2.5 but limited options and closer to 2 than 3 ( 2.5 as managed to create a few videos after long battles though) Whereas I appreciate the free versions do not have all the options but should be easier to navigate and easier to use. Latest issue - after hard work project finished, everything working in lightworks so time to export and download on Youtube. After exporting some of the video clips and audio files missing in the final project. Some parts visible and good audio and some parts missing - black holes. I go back to Lightworks and suddenly you notice that without any changes to my computer or moving files majority of the clips and projects went 'offline', cannot open them and not able to work on them. Tried to find solutions but nothing worked. Checked online seems to be an issue that happened not only to me.
Time to buy a paid version of video editing software but I'm afraid it's not going to be Lightworks :(
