I recently had my windows and doors…

I recently had my windows and doors supplied and fitted by lymer's , and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, their team was professional, friendly, and efficient. The process was thorough, they helped me choose the perfect windows for my home from their showroom, and the installation was completed on time with great attention to detail.

The quality of the windows themselves is outstanding, and they’ve made a noticeable difference in both the look and insulation of my home. The installers were tidy, respectful.

i will 100% keep them in mind on any future projects

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
We have had the worst experience with this company supplying incorrect size garage doors despite coming out to measure TWICE, and the customer service since has been nothing short of appalling. We have had the owner shouting and screaming down the phone, ringing our architect and bare faced lying and gaslighting us into believing it is somehow our fault. We have since asked around in the trade about this company and the owner to see if this was a one off experience but sadly it is not. We have had so much feedback from others about how terrible he is to deal with and the awful quality of the finished products provided. So if there’s one thing you do today, please make it scrolling past lymer doors on Google and picking someone else. Ps if the owner responds saying we can’t find your record is this review for the right company, it definitely is.

The Company that say they dont make mistakes

I ordered a garage door for my new build at foundation stage and sent in the drawings. Once the garage had been built the owner, Richard Lymer, came out to measure for the garage door twice. The door was then fitted and was 150mm short and the rails were fitted onto breeze blocks, the door was left open and the invoice emailed. Nobody advised there was an issue. When I sent in photographs I was advised that they had ordered the door from the drawings even though I have it in writing from them that they did a site survey and measured twice. They then said that my builders had told them the incorrect finished floor level despite the floor being poured to a standard 100mm. They now want £2k to sort the door out which is not fit for purpose as they do not see that they have any responsibility for the measuring error.

Terrible workmen

Was recommended Lymerdoors by a trusted local builder. Initially everything was OK with the sales staff, there were some delays with missed timelines given, but it wasn’t too bad and I understand there can be delays in getting materials etc.

However, whilst the sales staff are great, the workmen that Lymerdoors use are terrible. Absolutely terrible.

1st visit - workmen were constantly complaining that fitting the new garage doors was a ‘bigger job’ than they expected. I’m sorry but isn’t it their sole job to fit custom garage doors?! They did such a rushed shoddy job that I had to phone the manager to say it looked awful and wasn’t finished. Manager was apologetic and sent out another member of staff who agreed it wasn’t up to their standards. Promised to rectify by sending more workmen out to fix/complete the job.

2nd visit - new workmen arrived a few weeks later. Did a good job & definitely better than the previous workmen but they didn’t have all the materials with them to finish the job.

3rd visit - other workmen arrived a week later to tidy up the front but still materials were missing & had to be ordered in

4th visit - after waiting a few weeks, workmen turned up late, spent 10 minutes at the garage, then left. Shoddy work again & gaps everywhere. I was sitting around waiting for them to come back to finish the job but they never returned.

I’m now waiting for the manager to reply to me because this job is still not finished after being started over 2 months ago. I can’t recommend this company at all - I’ve paid a lot of money for these garage doors & I can’t believe it’s still not finished!

Stay well clear of Lymer Doors.

Stay well clear of Lymer Doors.
We had a garage door fitted by them (they buy them in and do not make them).
It failed after a short period of time and whilst the engineer advised it was a mechanical issue as the brackets where not big enough Lymer are chasing payment of £120. £90 of which is a call out fee.
Disgusting attitude - they only care about making a few quid. Zero empathy and even less customer service. Go elsewhere or you’ll regret it should anything at all go wrong, which it probably will.

the straps did not fail due to an obstruction but due to a defective product - as advised by your engineer. That’s why he fitted larger straps as the smaller ones were not fit for purpose. You have not offered a reduced call out charge either. You have just waived the cost of the straps because they were not suitable. Why should a customer pay labour costs to have product repaired which was defective.

Warning...avoid this company!

Writing on behalf of my father.
Our electric gate needed a new like for like ram. A simple job with a fitting time of less than half a day priced at £1300.
When Lymers arrived, they had brought the totally wrong unit but still tried to fit it. It failed to work because it was incompatible, one mistake followed another mistake, each time the invoice went up. It was soon over £2000 and the gate still did NOT work!
This is ongoing months and months later and the gate still doesn't work.
I finally got that crook Lymer, on site, he wanted a further £840 to correct the mistakes that his company had made!
If you want poor communication, shoddy and incomplete work at a rip off price, then Lymer Doors is the company to use!

STAY AWAY - Truly awful experience and company

Truly awful experience and company - Over 2 years of hell and still not over despite us desperately trying to resolve and get to an amicable resolution to this nightmare.
Workmen caused damage to our property (which the company now denies because they sacked the main people informed), installed the products to a very poor standard (you can literally see candles flickering with the draft from the windows and they left between 2"- 5" exposed gaps in the window reveals), left debris and rubber seals blocking our drains and gutters (subsequently cleared at our own expense), EVERY single door or window had an issue (wrong size/wrong glass/not fitted centrally).
They are now taking legal action as they want 100% of the value paid despite; a) the job not being finished and NO FENSA certificates given, b) the poor quality products and c) the damage caused to our property.

We so wish we had not been lured in by Richard Lymer (the owner) and his promises to do a great job and match a competitors price.

PS. If I could add photos I would
