We understand the frustration when portfolio returns do not fully mirror the broader stock market movements. I will therefore do the best i can to explain how Lysas investment philosophy works.
At Lysa, we are built for long-term investing with a focus on broad diversification, low fees, and a balanced risk level. Our portfolios aim to spread our investments as much as possible across the globe, but there are several reasons why performance can differ from a pure global equity index, especially over shorter periods.
Our portfolios combine both equities and bonds, which helps stabilize returns but also means they do not fluctuate similar to a pure equity index when markets rally. We also maintain an intentional overweight toward Swedish equities (20%), known as "home bias", which can cause differences in performance depending on how the Swedish market performs compared to global markets.
For those who have chosen our sustainable focus, certain sectors and companies are excluded, and exposure to emerging markets and small-cap stocks is more limited compared to a typical global equity index. Currency movements, fees, and the specific indices we track also play a role in creating differences in returns.
Our investment philosophy is based on historical data and financial research showing that a broad, long-term, and cost-effective investment strategy offers the best chances of positive returns over time, even if short-term performance may sometimes deviate from broader market trends.

You are correct that our app currently only supports Swedish for our Swedish customers. However, you can change the language to English when using Lysa via a web browser on your mobile or computer.
To switch to English, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Lysa account via lysa.se.
2. Click on the left-hand menu and select “Kundinfo.”
3. Navigate to “Inställningar” and choose English under “Välj språk.”
